“While Porto’s is well-known, the Downey location feels a little less crowded than others. The guava cheese pastry is always a winner—flaky, buttery, and sweet. I tried their Cuban sandwich for lunch, and it was huge and satisfying. The lines move quickly thanks to the efficient staff. Definitely worth the drive for affordable, delicious baked goods“

“I ordered the cinnamon oat latte, and I'm usually not a fan of oatmilk but it was balanced so well against the espresso and the cinnamon that it didn't dominate the flavor. It was a very smooth drink, not too sweet, not too bitter, and not too strong.

My wife got the strawberry matcha latte, and while the matcha was of a decent grade and quality, the strawberry isn't a puree, nor is it like a strawberry creme or milk added in, it's an additive in powder form and she doesn't tend to like that.

Their chocolate croissant, which we shared, was heated up as requested, it came with a line of melted chocolate drizzle on top, which I think was similar to Nutella but less thick in terms of consistency. It was also topped with powder sugar, and it had an inserted line of darker chocolate, maybe 65%, so pretty balanced against the sweetness of everything else involved.

The area the cafe is located in is nice, it's a large promenade with several nicer restaurants (it's also sort of attached to it's restaurant counterpart) and there's plenty to walk around and get some shopping done or walk off the drinks and baked sweets. Plenty of parking as well, and the mall itself is only a block or two north from the cafe.“

“came in just now with my daughter the lady was nice but some big lady came in with two little girls and was saying she had an order for brandon or natasha and the lady made an honest mistake and said there’s no brandon there’s only natasha thinking she had two orders and the lady started to insult her saying if she can’t hear and started raising her voice at her while the lady stay calm and let her insult herself wish she would’ve defended herself some people are just so entitled“

“It was a neat experience to make your own boba drink esp with so many types of flavors and toppings to choose from. You get to also sample the flavors first before committing, so that was a real bonus! The food was a good deal for $16 for app and entree, but it tasted ok. The basil fried rice left a weird taste on our tongue and made other things taste weirder. The noodles, popcorn chicken, fried pork and reg fried rice were bland, except for the Spicy Miso Udon. The school tables and chairs were sticky. The lady in front was trying to stay friendly, prob irritated bc of some misbehaved boys that was harassing her and the business. Overall, worth a try esp if you want to control the amount of toppings in your boba drink and taste it before buying.“

“I had the matcha cream brûlée with a snoopy design on top. Super cute! Matcha was alright, tasted fine. Wasn’t a big fan of the honey (I think?) on the bottom though. Kinda overpowering, wish it was maybe mixed into the drink or something.. will come back to try other drinks tho.“
