“Lee’s cafe is a Taiwanese-style cafe with a hint of Hong Kong sparkle, serving the perfect mix of Taiwanese and Hong Kong food. The toast is absolutely marvelous, and I truly believe it is worth every penny. Unfortunately, I can’t say the same for the other dishes. The sesame cold noodles were good, but missing something—I felt they didn’t quite hit the mark. The wontons were delicious, but the braised pork belly rice was your typical run-of-the-mill rice. Nothing terribly special, but delicious nonetheless. The HK milk tea, however, leaned very watery and missed the signature strong tea taste of a HK milk tea.
Also, their bathroom sink was broken and put as a “use at your own risk”. Hopefully they have fixed this since my visit!
Yet, through all this, I would still return to Liu’s kitchen—for their toast!“

“Open Market catered a wedding reception I was coordinating in October, and they were wonderful. Their restaurant is one of the bride's favorites, and they were great. The food is delicious, and I'm working on getting my husband over there soon. They couldn't have been more accommodating and flexible during the planning, and they were straight pros at the reception. As a planner, I love caterers that are easy to work with and easy for my couple's to work with, and it was a great experience for everyone.

My personal downsides are that (1) their indoor tables/chairs are so short so I cannot properly get any work done. (2) they dont have a charging station. They have one plug by the entrance but that doesnt work. So inconvenient.“

“We needed a break this morning and this place provided the perfect vibe and atmosphere for us. The quality of the chilaquiles alone compelled me to write a review. They were the best that I have had. I have tried many that are too rich and others are too skimpy in what they offer. These chilaquiles were a perfect balance of ingredients. I tried the red/green salsa (banderas). I usually tend toward green but this red salsa blew me away. The flavor was exquisite.
The mexican mocha is also a nice experience.“

“What an absolute gem of a find! I visited for the first time today—and to my absolute delight, just five minutes from my home, I found a real maritozzo con panna that transported me straight back to Rome! You have no idea how happy this made me.
If I could, I’d give it a solid 4.5 out of 5 stars! If I may humbly offer one tiny, respectful suggestion from a passionate Roman heart: try making the cream (la panna) completely unsweetened. In Rome, we keep the whipped cream unsweetened because the light dusting of powdered sugar on top and the soft, sweet brioche bun already provide the perfect amount of sweetness.
At first glance, unsweetened cream might feel like it's missing something, but I promise you, it creates such a delicious balance that people will end up ordering two! Back home, I can easily polish off two in one sitting, whereas here I was full after one just from the extra sugar rush. (And you will save money on the sugar saved !)
Thank you for making such a wonderful place and bringing a taste of Italy so close to home. I can't wait to come back!“

I wanted to try the brisket, but they were out so I ended up with the steak sandwich and they were really apologetic and nice about it and even tossed in some extra freebies in my bag. “I came at 5:30pm on a Sunday and it wasn't very crowded which allowed me to easily get a seat. The atmosphere is the typical cafe vibe with k-r&b and lofi in the background and natural lighting, and the decor theme is cozy pastel blue + chrome. I tried this place because of the ATEEZ drink collab event and ordered the Mushroom Cream Baguette Sandwich, Spinach and Feta Pocket, and the Sweet Mamacita drink. They were all delicious, especially the Spinach and Feta Pocket which was very crispy! I wish I could buy more of these if the prices weren't as steep, but I understand that these may be typical L.A. prices. They were also filling, considering the decently small portion sizes, as I managed to get through the Spinach and Feta Pocket and my drink before I was full. I would recommend all of these items and dining in besides doing takeout like I did. It's overall a nice study spot with great snacks, and I'd come all the way out here just to try more items or just get the same ones I ordered!“

“Oh my goodness! This place was such a beautiful find. I absolutely loved all the options they had for gluten-free and dairy free. I got the lemon cake and two of the sprinkle cookies to bring home to me and my family. The bread options are amazing for gluten-free as well. I ended up getting their chorizo and egg for breakfast. Absolutely amazing food. On the side I got tater tots, they were crunchy and very tasty. Not greasy, which is hard to do when you fry something. We sat in the back where the wine area is because it was really hot that day so the ambience in that little area was very quirky and eclectic. It’s a very comforting delicious place to go visit if you’re hankering for some gluten-free, dairy free pastries. Did I mention the entire place is vegan!“

“My new favorite breakfast spot. Came here due to the fire and smoke in Boyle Heights. Best decision of 2026. We order the House Breafast, Supreme Waffle, French toast and breakfast burrito. My boys love the French toast and waffle. The breakfast burrito and house breakfast was amazing. Everything tasted super fresh. We also order a green apple juice and latte which didn't disappoint. Plenty of parking on the side street. It's rated 4.9 for a reason. I will be back!“

Long line, expensive, and not so great service, but they make some amazing coffee. $6.00 for a vegan donut, $4.25 for an iced americano, and $2.50 to add cloud foam.

“Lil' East is the best! Great coffee and matcha! Love the mocha and cereal milk matcha. The syrups/sauces are made in house. Not a monin bottle in sight so you know you're in good hands. They sell products from other small businesses. Lots of plants and simple stools to sit on to enjoy your coffee. Support small businesses! 👏 This is one of the good ones.“
