“Teddy's has been one of the best birria spots around for years. I remember going to their location on the train tracks and they quickly popped off. Their Downey location is pretty small and does get crowded but it's worth the wait. The quesabirria tacos with a side of consomé are life changing. Definitely give it a try!“
“So unbelievably good and juicy!!! Their service was so friendly and welcoming. My bestie and I decided to stop by while we were riding the bikes and im so glad we did. So much flavor and made fresh. There is a wait for the food as they only make the food fresh but its worth it!! I will definitely come back“
“I was uncomfortable with the place down the street. It looked rowdy. Javi told us to try this place. He said it's been here over 10 years. I wish I knew about this place sooner. It's a hidden gem. They have a huge indoor seating area, cafeteria style. There's restrooms. We paid $120 for two botanas, a dozen oysters, 6 shrimp tacos, two tostadas, and three drinks. Yum. Sorry! We were hungry, forgot to take before pictures. ?“
“Family owned and operated truck located in Boyle Heights / East LA area that specializes in tacos arabes and goodies from Puebla in general. The tacos arabes were a result of Lebanese immigrants to the area and boy are they delicious. I came here later on a Thursday night so it wasn't very busy and it was pretty chill. Just a few other people around me. The folks here were friendly and helpful. I ordered:A taco arabe especiale- their signature taco with their marinated roast pork on this soft flower tortilla. This was topped Oaxacan cheese and slices of avocado (especiale). There was this chipotle sauce on top of everything. The sauce added some smokiness to an already great flavor and texture profile. I really liked that flour tortilla. Quesadilla de flor de calabaza - zucchini blossoms with melted Oaxacan cheese inside a blue corn tortilla. Love corn and I love this. Nice and chewy with earthy and slightly sweet flavors to go along with their delicious salsaDefinitely recommend for tacos/ quesadillas etc etc or if you are just in the mood for something a little different.“
“Best Carnitas in town!! I been going to el momo for 6 years and it’s the best!!! Just go try it! You’re not going to regret it ?????? it’s a family owned restaurant and the carnitas are the best!! Thank you to el Momo Family for the delicious carnitas ?????????“
“Great grub, gourmands! This place is quickly becoming my Sunday go-to spot for unique, slammin' vittles from passionate entrepreneurs who take great pride in their work. There are so many dishes to try, and I've yet to be disappointed.“
“Before traveling to L.A. I googled best places to eat. Tacos LA Carreta was one of the suggestions. So after a full day of activities we decided to give it a try. Thank goodness we did! Best Tortas and tacos I ever had!! We will definitely make this a go-to for sure.“
“Food is really good you won't be disappointed just the parking & the seats are so so .Vegetarian options: Well you have beans , guacamole , rice , salsas on a handmade tortilla is pretty good .Dietary restrictions: I myself don't eat beef I'm a chicken fella myself . I love a pair of chicken tacos on handmade tortillas with guacamole feel good & not greasy either with a touch of salsa .“
“Authentic street style tacos in an authentic atmosphere, tried more than one of each meat and everything hits the spot. The Horchata was fantastic and refreshing after a good meal.Would try a burrito or quesadilla from here on my next visit!“
“Los dorados are one of my top 3 taco spots in Los Angeles, their taco it's just crispy like my grandma used to make them and the salsas are delicious, they make you feel very welcome at their spot in el sereno and the ambience is just perfect, you get to dine just like in Mexico out doors and enjoy their delicious tacos“
“Hands down, the best, best birria tacos I've ever had!!I've been eyeing this taco truck for the longest time when I was looking for birria tacos. I missed the chance to go from the last time I came by. Many other taco vendors also recommend this truck for goat birria tacos. We got some goat birria quesatacos, labio taco dorados, which were lips, asada vampiro, and of course, gotta get consome. Not many places have goat birria, and most of the time, they tend to be too dry. Those quesatacos were super tender, juicy, cheesy, and packed with tons of spices and flavors. Dipping in the beefy, hardy consome, game over. I've never seen beef lips before, so I gotta give a try. It got the texture of beef tongue, also quite delicious. Like any other taco trucks and vendors, service is always impeccable. Everyone is very friendly and supportive to other vendors. I said it once, and I'm gonna say it again. The best birria tacos!!!“
“Been coming to this place for years at least twice a month. The tortas never disappoint. I've placed phone orders and they never get it wrong unlike other places. Their customer service is good. In my opinion, it's the best tortas in Los Angeles. However, my only critique is the fact that they are extremely stingy with the napkins and even worse, with the salsa. They give 2 napkins and 1 salsa per torta. If you ask them for more salsa they charge extra. Apart from this, they only accept cash. We are in 2024 they should be accepting card or at least Zelle/Cashapp. All that being said, I'm still a loyal costumer who will keep enjoying these delicious tortas but that wants more napkins and salsa lol“
“Bomb shwarma spot! Highly recommended. The wraps are filled with meat and delicious veggies. The sauces are very tasty as well. The size of the wraps are big and could probably feed two people. They also have dumplings that looked really good which I will probably try next time I'm there. Add jalapeños, it gives the perfect spice to the wrap.“
“Quick and fast taco stands. Now they support the credit card payment. Eric is welcoming and serves the neighborhood very well until the midnight. The protein of stewed pork and the al pastor is nice while I hope they could use corn tortillas instead of the flour ones.“
“Location a bit unusual, but I am not from the area, so maybe it is not. The service was fine. The prices were good. Our foreign exchange student had pollo and asada, which he enjoyed, but said the steak was the better of the two. My partner had the vampiro, which she loved. Finally, I had the quesataco with chivo. It had just the right amount of juice and gaminess. The offer a wide variety of tasty salsas and drinks. With the countless options in the LA area, I would have to be near it or have a goat craving to eat here again.“
“This is my first time coming back this tacos stand in over 7 years and this place did not disappoint at all, the tortillas are handmade store is delicious I like that they have a limited amount of meats meaning that whatever you get, will be delicious. People working they provide friendly and fast service. Location is as it should be for street tacos, it's just adds more to the ambience and experience of street tacos 10/10.“
“Very excited to try this spot. The tasting menu was the perfect amount of food, I’m a little full but not stuffed. The food was fantastic - if you’re looking for drown your sushi in soy sauce and wasabi - this is not that. It is simply excellent fish - needing nothing more than a pinch of salt maybe (which they put on the plate - don’t let the other reviews fool you). The Monk’s “Chirashi-Sushi” small plate was one of the best things I’ve ever put in my mouth! Like spring in a bowl, every single bite was perfection. The glass of Muscat was a perfect pairing. The Rockfish & Mussels main was sooo good - get it. And if you go midweek there isn’t a crowd, the service was top notch.“
“I love coming to this little cart for some dessert. I really have enjoyed everything from the honey nut pancakes to my favorite cheese tayaki. I recently got the sweet potato cheese pancakes and yet again delicious! Staff is always very friendly too.“
“4+ Considered one of the best by many or at least one of the most popular taco spots in Los Angeles. They have a good variety of items and meats, but I would say they are most known for their al pastor (marinated, spit-roasted pork that is usually served with a slice/ chunk of pineapple). The service here is pretty efficient since they have to be - there's almost always a line. The vibe: depending on the time of day or night you come, it's usually a mixed group of people wanting to try this spot, people eating after a drinking session, or just people looking for decently priced tacos. One of the times I was here, I was standing behind Dante Basco (Rufio!), haha. Usually a fun vibe for sure. My usual here is two tacos (typically the al pastor) and a mulita. It used to be that there was a toppings and salsa bar where you would dress up your food. Not sure if it's because of the pandemic or people taking advantage and taking too much stuff home, you now have to go to a separate window to ask for the toppings and salsa and they're individually packaged. I definitely think this place is worth going for the al pastor. I myself have been here multiple times. Parking can be tough, but if you are going during the week there's usually parking along the street facing south on LA Brea right around the corner. Just be careful though as it is a relatively high traffic area and some people seem to drive recklessly in this area.“
“Everything Made Fresh, The carnitas & chicharrones are my fave? Everything is Delicious Y las Micheladas Sheeesh ?? mouth watering Good??, An Those fresh warm frijolitos refritos with them tortillas hechas a mano ?? i can go on With all the Great food they Have Highly “
“The costilla taco and it had so much flavor! It wasn't huge but it was just the right lunch size for me. Served with green onions and radishes, it reminded me of Mexican dinners with my grandma. I also had the chips with guacamole (so flavor-packed!) and delicious watermelon agua fresca. This meal was a total win, all around.“
“This is an amazing coffee shop. Their coffee is amazing the pastries are as well I usually get Spanish iced latte with the almond croissant. Also and iced Coquito con crema is another favorite and an iced Abuelita latte highly recommend . Their customer service is wonderful . We usually do drive-through, but there’s times where it’s nice to get off and enjoy it there. Such a great spot for a caffeine pick me up ?“
“Flavorful, simple, complex- great on the tongue and even better in the tummy. The red sauce gets everywhere and ai loved it! I can't say enough about how helpful and gracious the staff were - brought the food to my table "FROM A FOOD TRUCK!!! AMAZING!!!!!!" before I had a chance to get up.The dining area is just off the alley off of Slausen. Under a canopy with a little music and a restroom and a sink. "Only in LA" and only at Teddy's can you find such a great spot with the tastiest birria and extra tortillas.I will be back for the torta and more of the consommé.Don't miss this, it's definitely worth the trip.“
“# 129 Review for 2024 ***A Culinary Journey: Authenticity, Tradition, and Flavor Explosion at Tacos Los Palomos*** Overall 5 Stars***** If there's a sacred haven for taco enthusiasts, Tacos Los Palomos is it. Nestled in East LA, this gem embodies the essence of Mexican street food culture. As a self-proclaimed taco inspector, stumbling upon this treasure was a stroke of luck, unraveling a tapestry of flavors that transported me to the heart of culinary authenticity. What sets these taco trucks apart is their unwavering commitment to tradition. It's not just about tacos; it's a testament to preserving heritage, using time-honored recipes and seasonings that make each bite an homage to Mexican street cuisine. The sheer variety of flavors--Lengua, Buche, Tripa, Suadero, and Cueritos--each bursting with its own distinct taste, left an indelible mark on my taste buds. But let's talk about the salsa, specifically the chipotle; it deserves its own accolades. It's not just a condiment; it's a flavor symphony that elevates every taco to a divine experience. Yet, beyond the culinary prowess, these taco trucks serve as a conduit to nostalgia and cultural roots. They transcend the realm of mere dining; they're gateways to cherished memories and a taste of home. Each bite feels like a reunion with flavors that resonate with a deep sense of belonging. Tacos Los Palomos isn't just a taco truck; it's an emblem of community, tradition, and an odyssey through the rich tapestry of Mexican culinary heritage. In a world where authenticity often gets diluted, this place stands tall as a beacon of genuine flavors and cultural significance. In short, if you seek not just a meal but an expedition into the soul of Mexican street cuisine, Tacos Los Palomos deserves not just five stars but a standing ovation for keeping the flame of tradition alive in every savory taco they serve.“
“Having been a loyal patron for years, I can confidently say that not only does this taco truck serve delicious food, but the staff is always incredibly nice and welcoming. Whether it's my go-to asada burrito or trying something new from their menu, the quality and service remain consistently excellent. I love it!“
“Nice little casual place to grab a bite. You order your food at the food truck window and can go into a separate building to sit down. Tacos were tasty and the best part was having different topping options, a couple salsas, pickled onions, Cilantro, Radish, cucumber etc. We were on our way from Orange County up to the Bay Area and wanted to eat quickly to keep driving. Glad we stopped here as it was really close off the freeway.Carne asada and al pastor tacos were delicious. Also tried the suadero but they weren't really my thing. Would come again!“
“I stay eating in East Los Angeles because it's my hometown and hands down we have some f the best food ever. My husband and I love Mariscos. We're always willing to try new places. This lunch truck so happens to park by my house. We were hungry and wanted something refreshing and Maye Mariscos was our pick. The lady was very nice and they had a line of people. We knew it was good when people we're ordering for the next day already. She has a very good variety of things. They had so many different tostadas, their tacos were so good. I got the camarones en salsa negra and a taco de pescado. My husband had the aguachiles verde and a tostada mixta. Everything we got was delicious we definitely made a great choice by coming. The location is a lunch truck there are chairs and a little table where you can sit and eat your food. They also have take-out and they're there every day as far as I'm aware. I definitely give them 5 start plus five more if you're ever in East Los stop by and try these mariscos. They will not disappoint you.“
“Was getting out of planet fitness and was super super hungry. Couldn't wait till I get home since it's about an hour away. So came here to see the menu. I was more intrigued with the $7 hotdogs, so I wanted to try it. I also added Avocado since I am obsessed with Avocado. It was AMAZING!!!!! It was love in first taste lol. I had also ordered one chorizo taco with red sauce and it was the bomb!!!Hotdog (1st photo) and Chorizo taco (2nd photo)“
“I saw that this spot had great reviews so I decided to stop by.Customer service was excellent and very kind when I entered. I just ordered a classic Philly cheesesteak with fries. The cheese steak was good & the fries were descent. The flavor was ok, just wish their sauce for the Philly cheesesteak was on the bun or on the meat. They’re in little mini containers. The fries were crispy but not too seasoned and they only have packeted ketchup too. Overall it was a descent lunch.I’d definitely come back to this spot again to try their other menu items.“
“These are addictive, juicy tacos that when you eat, you have to hit the pause button on any other activity going on...they are just that mind blowing. Afterwards you'll be thinking, when can my stomach take some more because they're so overpowering you won't be able to shake them from your mind. A modest tent set up outside a convenience store, next to the "Mirror Motel" along a backstreet in the Watts neighborhood converts into a carnival of flavor at the weekends when Mathew starts cooking beef asada and birria stew and toasts up his tacos on the hot iron griddle. Here is the bonafide, authentic people's kitchen taste of Los Angeles, far from some gentrified, corporate chain, cookie cutter, sterile offering in Beverly Hills. These tacos filled with stew represent the way food is served at home, not a smorgasboard of menu choices, just a couple of things done well, consistently, and dependably. They represent the taste of the working masses of Los Angeles whose bloodlines in this city are long while weaving in influences from various Mexican regions. It doesn't get more rustic and truly delightful than Mathew's tent stall where the corn tortillas are dipped in stew juices to soften them up before they are toasted on the griddle. His vat of birria conjures up the warmth and depth of roasted onions, cinammon, chiles, and slow cooked meat that falls into shreds off your fingers as you slurp up the juices. At $1.50 a pop Mathew's tacos are overflowing with complex flavor and are sensually overwhelming. You can tease the palate with fresh radishes and a suite of fresh tomato salsas, pickled onion and chilli sauces set out to garnish the tacos. The backstreet experience is indelible from your mind. I'm dreaming of going back next weekend. Please bear in mind he's only open on Friday, Saturday and Sunday as I understand it.“
“This food truck is one of the best one's out in the streets of Vernon CA took my family and we love coming here the tacos dorados de camarón are on point the ceviche out of this world and my favorite are the tacos de camarón empanizado.... If you're around Vernon or hungover ....come Here .....“
“This has to be the best ceviche I've ever had. They serve it on a food truck and they have some seats by the truck to enjoy your food. Now you're thinking theres no way the food is fresh if its served on a truck. Well the quality and textures here are 5 stars. My friends and I ordered the Tacos de Camaron, Poseidon and Mixta. The octopus and shrimp were cooked perfectly. Not too chewy and the combination of citrus with their house made salsa were perfect. Between the 4 of us this was plenty of food. Prices are reasonable and portions are great. Wait times can be long, but well worth it. Theres a big parking lot across the street and plenty of street parking around the corner. I would recommend eating right away as the food can get soggy.“
“We stopped by late for our midnight munchies meal. We ordered three different tacos and a bean & cheese burrito with the hottest sauce. The older gentleman told me to add the hot chili myself because he wasn't sure I could handle the heat. I laughed and told him bring it on and that I love hot chili. The food was really good and that chili was hot and it crept up and was burning my mouth at the end of my meal.“
“Excelente lugar cash only …the Friday ,Saturday and Sunday only after 6pm it’s a taco truckMy favorite the birria tacos, aslo: tripa, asada, chicken, chorizo, pastor they have 3 salsas but the birria one is superb for those who likes the spicy ones .. advice the parking is an issue so if you go with a friend go get your order meanwhile your friend gets a parking spot“
“It is hard to get to the restrnt right now due to construction, the fact there were people there testifies to how popular it is. My wife got the thai crepe, it was really good! I got the beast, loaded with meatp; but I would still have preferred the thai crepe too! Orders are done at the counter and brought to your table.“
“Went to the truck on West Sunset Blvd AND WOW. 10000 stars. This is one of the best tacos I've ever had. The flour tortilla is top notch. We had the asada tacos and they were delicious. I'd drive hours for these. Totally worth a trek if you don't live nearby.“
“Good tortas I tried the torta cubana its was big and delicious i definitely coming back to tried a different torta only reason i give them 4 stars is because their salsas aren't spicy they need to incorporate jalapeños or chiles toreados.“
“Great spot food was delicious from the burritos to tacos. From the usual carne asada, chicken, chorizo and the al pastor. Let's not forget the tripas crisp. Portions are perfect and nothing hits a late night bite to eat. Clean and very professional. They take cash and card. They also have Aguas frescos and soda can. Oh let's not forget the loaded papa. Huge bake potato topped with cheese, and any meat you want and any other topping.“
“I asked Vegan AF to cater an event for about 50-60 diverse people and Chanel killed it. Our guests said they would be fully converted to veganism if it meant eating her hand-fried crispy wraps stuffed with a flavorable combination of vegetables and faux meats. This is really important to my family who tease me for being vegetarian. She showed up early so we had time to organize things in the party room to best serve her needs and the flow of the event. The pink containers and branding made sure that everyone who loved her food would be able to find her. There were a lot of designers, so branding was important. Most importantly, Vegan AF complimented the community festival vibe of the night. I look forward to eating Vegan AF again and again as many of the guests that night. Thank you, Chanel.“
“If you like Mexican seafood, you will love Mariscos Linda. Even though it's a food truck, this location has an indoor facility to enjoy your meal right in front of the truck. I had the small fish taco and the agua chile tostada. The taco was really good and the agua chile was about a 9 spicy, juat the way I like it. Loved it and will definitely be back.“
“I discovered this truck on a trip to LA. I pretty much had tacos from places every day I was there. There are many great Tacos to be had, but something stood out about this truck. Great price, great tacos, and some funny conversations with the other customers. Can't wait to be back. For a late night fix. This is the place.“
“I've been coming to this location for the past 6 years. Excellent customer service. Super nice and there Aguas Frescas are AMAZING!! Quesadillas are huge! Carne Asada is so flavorful! Delicious!! Definitely have to try them if you are in LA.“
“So cool to experience these tacos from Wisconsin. Flavor is really rich, cooked to perfection. All tacos were delicious! Made me dream of being in Mexico like when I just to live, TMI but tacos and the staff were on point! Thank me later!“
“Amazingly delicious., not dry. Serve a good portion of berria no matter what you order. Offer free cup of consome while supply lasts. PRICES are lower than most. So worth it for the amount of birria you are served. Don't miss taco Tuesday tacos are $1.50“
“They have several different options to chose from drink wise and a full menu that I will certainly be going back, and trying. There's plenty of people in line, coming and going. I could tell this place is popular among its locals and has a solid backing from its customers. There's room to stand and wait, and it's easy to pull in and park. Quiet part of town, so it's a peaceful area.“
“Found this spot on the map, tried it out and it was a hit from the start! Lots of options, everything is cooked on spot, handmade tortillas. The aqua frescas are delicious, the food even better! 20/10 recommend! They are all very nice here as well. New lunch spot.“
“I LOVE this place for a quick bento pickup. Reminded me of the Broken Mouth (cheap eats that create food explosions in your mouth). Salad dressing is like crack. All the dishes are amazing. Support small businesses like this one. They deserve it!“
“YOooo! 5 stars forsurrrrreee!!! First off, the packaging was excellent. Not one drip!! Presentation for the Quesadilla Frita caught my attention. It looked simple on Yelp, but sooo good? Lol I don't like fried food much. Somehow, I was convinced to get the fried quesadilla. It surpassed my expectations. Like I had a feeling it would be good, but I didn't think it would be this FRiGgin GOOD!! The corn tortilla was different from the reg tortilla. It was a bit thicker and a bit chewy. The beef was fresh and well seasoned. OMG, the cheese pull was unexpected. Everything was balanced. Yumm!! I like how they placed the grilled onions on the side. I don't like onions, but I dont mind some grilled onions here and there. The grilled onions added even more flavor to the quesadilla =) BOMB!! They also provided pickled onions and cucumbers on the side. There were 4 different types of sauces avail. For $10, I was surprised that it was all stuffed with beef inside. Yelpers didn't let me down. Thanks! Service was 100%. The guys were friendly & ADORABLE! =)“
“Keep in mind. This is a lunch truck. The food is good and served with good portions for the price. It's also located in the heart of East Los Angeles overlooking the famous El Pino up in the hill and near the famous El Mercadito de Los Angeles. Lacking in parking thoigh“
“This is such a a great little gem. The artwork and overall vibe of this place is amazing!! Prices are reasonable and the service was great!! Very friendly people and knowledgeable about the food. The food is amazing! Everything has such great flavor! My favorite is chilaquilas and these were phenomenal. Will definitely come back.“
