Gloria’s Cocina Mexicana was a fantastic find! The best part is that it’s not touristy at all — a local friend recommended it, and when we arrived, the place was full of locals, which is always a great sign.

The food was truly authentic Mexican cuisine, with huge portions and very reasonable prices. Everything we ordered was delicious and full of flavor.

The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, which made the whole experience even better.

“We found this place when we went to visit Los Angeles California. It is located in Downey, California. The food is very tasty, it has the flavor of home. The tamales are good and have a very rich and spicy sauce. If they ask for sopes, please let them know that you don't want them too browned because when they are fried, they become chewy. The young man who served us was very friendly!“

“El Taco is one of the few places that still has descent tasting food, many other fast food establishments have changed so much , the taste of the foods are not the same at all and that's a big deal because I myself will go to a specific place because of the taste or way that their food tastes or is prepared or because of an ingredient that may be used and also because of the customer service. These days a smile seems to be one of the things missing from most places, for example, the Popeye's Chicken on Florence Avenue in Bell is probably one of the worst customer service experiences we've ever had with such a young crew which should be energetic and full of smiles is the totally opposite, after the 3rd time we knew we weren't just having a bad day. The young lady that was helping at the drive through window Never once said Thank You nor did she even give eye contact, she gave us our change turned and actually slammed the little acrylic window shut, No Smile, No Eye Contact, No Thank You and rolled her eyes 👀because we asked for condiments ... Wow, I just like the wings and Church's Chickens recipe has changed.

“Finally decided to visit here after living in Downey for 10+ years was tired of all the long lines at the breakfast dinners around town and decided to stop by and give this place a chance. I’m glad I did. The food was very authentic and flavorful made me feel like I was eating a home cooked meal from someone’s grandma. Service was great ambiance was great made me feel like I was back on vacation eating breakfast at a restaurant in Mexico. Stop by you won’t be disappointed. I would recommend any of the mole dishes it’s not too spicy and on the sweeter side of moles my favorite!“

As other reviews mentioned, it's for to-go orders only now. We order their burritos. Kids had carne asada and I had al pastor. The food was ready pretty fast and they were nicely wrapped and hot. They were yummy and super fulfilling! Luckily I asked for the sauce on the side because the red sauce was super spicy and tasty! I love spicy food but I wanted to taste the burrito, too. ?. We didn't take any pictures because we were super hungry and there was nothing left for taking pictures. This place is a gem and I will definitely go back.“

I've been enjoying their food for years from a their location off of 54th Street and Central where they sell Excellent Tendon Tacos. Now, they have this Brick and Mortar location.

“Coming here for the second time and honestly it's a good bar/restaurant. Great atmosphere, live DJ plays great music and they serve good food. The tablitas are great for sharing but if you're hungry or in a big group then the tablones are better for sharing. Big menu if you want your own plate. Lots to choose from. The drinks are well made. The Michelada flight was ehh. To sweet for me but my favorite one was the pepino flavored michelada. Inside gets pretty loud so sit next to each other instead of across. They also have seating outside. Friendly service. I see what people mean by under staffed but in my opinion service was still great.

FYI : The pizza tablita has a pizza with pastrami, pickles and drizzled in mustard. (Incase you don't f*ck with any of that ?)“
