“Such a great old school vibe at this venerable blues club in the heart of Oakland. Amazing music with an alternating cast of vocalists and musicians as the night went on. Crowd was a mix of ages and colors and a positive vibe all around. For a break from the tunes there is a vast back yard area with tables and a second bar that has beer and wine. Get liquor from the main bar only. Bartenders were working hard but very friendly. Great time!“

“Came here with a friend while working in town. It was so good we went 3 days in a row.

We sat at the bar and Rodger gave us the Royal treatment!

The salmon salad, the salmon BLT, and the pastrami are all fire. And if you're like me and don't drink alcohol, definitely ask for a ginger beer <Yes they're alcohol-free!

“Chesty’s is a hidden gem! Located atop the Marine’s Memorial Club Hotel near Union Square, this bar & restaurant is casual and just really good overall. Food is tasty and reliable (they have gluten-free options!) the service is friendly and efficient (Maribel was sooo sweet!) and the view from the 12 floor is wonderful! Complimentary happy hour for hotel guests as well as buffet breakfast!“

“Stopped in on a rainy day. No baseball game. First impression is its cool looking bar. Clean. Ordered the wings, cause that's my test for bar food. Good size. Nice and crispy with a tasty buffalo sauce.

Well.... The burger and fries arrived. The fries ate crispy and delicious.
Unfortunately, the star of the show, the burger was a big letdown. My guys is was frozen patty. I'm a believer burgers should be cooked through not pink. Its ok if that's your thing but IMHO the flavor is better cooked, not murdered though. This was not very flavorful and too pink to be served that way. I wasn't asked how I wanted it cooked and I'm the only person here so no pressure on the kitchen. I'll come back for wings and fries. Beer was icy cold too. Definitely check it out.“

“Talk about food that melts in your mouth and cooked to perfection. A5 beef, wagyu gyoza, salmon belly, scallops, and mochi cake were all out of this world! Delicious cocktails and an atmosphere that’s both modern and vintage.

Went here for an evening networking event and felt like it had this classy underground feel because of the DJ + Technics turntables right when you walk in, and then you turn the corner and see 2 massive speakers w/o their grilles behind the bar, which is filled with premium Japanese whiskey & gin and vinyl covers.

“The decor and ambience is very modern while still maintaining the original design and foundation. The staff is super friendly and attentive. Place gets busy even during baseball games. Went here before the giants game and was quite impressed. I’d love to come back next time I’m in town. The food and drinks were impressive and left me wanting more. “I have been a regular Tilden golfer since 2019 (especially on Tuesday nights...when the real pros come out!). The recent opening of The Overlook has been a fantastic addition to the course. They did a great job with the drink selection, with lots of local beers on tap. The outdoor space is so nice, with heat lamps and a fire pit. “This is a hidden new treasure. I was there for a private event for 100 people. We were upstairs and downstairs in the back. The rest of the bar was still in action downstairs in the front. It is a great place with good music and vibe. The place is getting busier and busier so get there before you can get in. “Grumpy's is a real throwback kind of place. The decor feels very local and the staff is really friendly. Food is good pub food, fattening and delish. There are two large screen TVs and plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. Depending on what's going on in the area, parking is awesome!“
