“The food was decent. You get a lot of food for the price. The staff was quiet and serviceable. We were grateful to find them open, almost everything else on the street was closed or boarded up. We had arrived too early to get into our air bnb, and needed to hang somewhere close. We didn't know the neighborhood at all. There seemed to be 2-3 times more of the homeless in the streets of San Francisco, compared to home. This made me sad.
We had to suddenly leave, I think because we were the only people there and the last staff person wanted to go home.“

“Large portion, great food loved the nostalgic fish burger wrapped in a checkered wrap, fresh crinkle fries at a great price!! Huge taste !! This is yet another time I've eaten here again they have made my favorites just right..a huge plus for today if you are looking for a clean yummy place to eat with friends and family and watch the Superbowl they have a huge screen TV!!!“

“My mom and I came to this place by the recommendation from the garbage guy that serves our neighborhood.. Then my husband was also told that this place is a jewel 💎
We were served by Emma, she was so nice to us. We acknowledged her that it was our first time there. Coffee was hot and did not have a burned taste, just perfect. I ordered bacon and eggs with a very picky request. Hash browns were delicious. My Mom ordered French toast and a side of bacon. She shared with me a slice of French toast and omg. It was fluffy, soft and not dry. Very nice vanilla flavor. The syrup was warmed and so now we’re hooked to this place. We had to put our names on the wait list as the sitting is limited because it’s a small place but it’s name says it all, the fifth wheel, a rare jewel near downtown San Leandro. Service and food are better than the Pelton cafe“

“I come here a lot before work and I have been coming there for more than 15 years. It’s a local moms and pops and they are always welcoming and food is always hot and fresh. If you are in downtown Oakland check them out for breakfast and lunch options.“

“Food was delicious and fresh. We had a decent wait time, we did go on Sunday and expected it to be busy, but it seems like they could have better organization and time management to service facilitate faster table turnover. Overall, worth the wait and I will be back again!“

“Little hole in the wall type business run by a sweet older man and his cook! We ordered the huevos rancheros and the waffles with fried chicken.

Although the huevos lacked a bit of flavor; both meals were affordable and well made regardless! The owner even offered us tortillas to go with our food. The decore is cute and the diner itself is relatively quiet. I'd say check it out if you're looking for a cheap filling bite!“

“The shrimp and grits are tasty. I don’t understand why the entire staff is Hispanic-like most Mexican restaurants they only hire Hispanic folks so if we are not good enough to work here I won’t spend my money here“

“Food was pretty good. The syrup was the best. Drawn and kept warm so the drizzle on the toast and souffle was delightful. The place is super busy. I had to wait sometime for the syrup because I got my souffle (takes longer than other food to prepare they warned ahead of time) before the syrup came.“

“We were a group of 12 who descended on David’s Deli. Sat at the bar seating and had a great breakfast. Robbie our server was fab. Twelve different orders and everyone commented with big thumbs up for their food. Thank you for making 12 out of towners feel so welcomed.“

“5 stars on atmosphere since I ordered to go, but it seemed pretty peaceful and clean.

I'm a pretty no frills guy, and in that respect, the food was on point. Hashbrown were perfectly crispy, bacon was perfectly rendered and great to munch on, and the biscuts and gravy were as awesome as comfort food as I grew up with. The scrambled eggs were not overcooked or dry. I just wish I had some tabasco sauce to eat it with. Kudos for earning me as a returning customer after one trip.“

“Food was very good, good service too. Really good location and it reminds me of a 1940s diner. Pretty good menus and selection of food. \nBut unfortunately this is probably my last visit. Which is really too bad as I really like the place and would recommend it to everyone. But, as I was leaving I noticed a sign in the widow I hadn’t seen when entering. Stating that law enforcement was not allowed if they don’t have a warrant. Well I support law enforcement and if they aren’t allowed to dine here then I won’t be back either. Too bad, I really like this restaurant.“
