We’ve tried different Peruvian restaurants and have also been to Peru a few times so this place was a gem to find. The Lomo Saltado was the perfect nostalgic dish. I know where you revisit. “Came here for a work luncheon. The ambiance is really nice. Very decorative. The service was great. I ordered the lobster enchiladas. It was good but a little bland.
When they brought out the food, they brought 1 of 5 entrees. After about 10 mins, they brought 3 more entrees. Unfortunately, I was the last one who had to wait for their food and I’m the slowest eater. I think it’s better to bring everyone’s dishes at the same time. I understand that they could be short staffed and they wanted the food to get out to the customer hot and fresh.
The prices are pretty too expensive for me. Every item was about $30+. It’s definitely not a place I’d just grab lunch for work. I think this place is best for a work luncheon or date.“

“I come here all the time, it’s some of the best Peruvian spot in the mission (and there’s quite a few!) and makes me feel at home. This is elevated but still feels like your grandma’s cooking. Vanessa and the other staff are always amazing!“

“SF Ceviche 19 rocked my world. Let me tell you…the staff, the food, the sides, the atmosphere was impeccable. Could not improve a single thing. Best ceviche in the city. Amazing for a date or fun outing. Would 100000% recommend. Also they have Inca kolas and that’s a vibe.“

“Mom and Pop eatery. They will treat you like family. Tiny place very little room but they have seating outside. Great Peruvian selection. Awesome burger Who Knew? The food is made to order so order in advance for pickup. Food made from scratch patience is key. 20 to 30 minute wait just for food. Just like home cooked meals. “The service was top notch. We told our waiter this one was our first time and he explained the menu for both food and drinks. He also opened the door for us when we exited. Service definitely gets 5 stars.

However, there’s something wrong with the price on the menu vs what you will be charged. We ordered from the lunch especial menu which says items were $ 17.99 but we were charged 20 for one item and 18 for other two dishes. And the beverages were supposed be $4 based on the menu but were charged $6. May be they updated the price and forgot to update the menu?

Anyways two of the dishes fried rice and Marinated pork dishes were very salty. The bed of pasta with fish was very good but I wished the fish was basked instead deep fried. Purple corn drink was pretty good the waiter said it will be sweet and it was. If you don’t have a sweet tooth, you don’t probably want it.

“Best kept secret of El Sobrante: El Chalan, Peruvian and Italian restaurant, offers a family atmosphere with great food at a good price. Warm bread and butter is served from the beginning. Their roast 1/2 chicken and whole fried trout, with home style french fries are very popular. Their sea food dishes, especially the seafood soups are delicious. The Italian food is also excellent. Butter nut squash raviolis, gnocchi, and spaghetti are cooked perfectly. Kids love this place.“

“I rarely post reviews but had to chime in as this was such an outstanding experience with Lima Peruvian! I catered an event in my home and the food arrived on time, piping hot, carefully marked for ingredients and allergens and was just so delicious. I received countless compliments and requests from guests to find out where the food came from. The order included a mix of meat, meatless and vegan offerings that really hit the spot. In particular, the Loma Saltado, Aji de Gallina (Creamy Yellow Chicken), Seco de Pollo (Green Herb Chicken), Vegan Split Pea Amarillo and rice were outstanding. Thank you Lima Peruvian!“
