The food is just as incredible as I remember — always fresh, flavorful, and made with so much care. But what really sets Chicken Plus apart is the heart behind it. Syd, the owner, is truly one of a kind. Every time I walk through the doors, I look forward to seeing him. He greets everyone like family and makes you feel genuinely welcome. It’s rare to find a place where the food and the people are equally amazing, but Chicken Plus nails it every time.

“I came in one morning they were very busy full area plenty of customers I walked in through the front door the staff greeted me immediately asked me if I would be dining and I said no just needed to order a breakfast sandwich for my fiance the wait was not long the food was fresh I would recommend coming here for breakfast“

“Skip the chain and give this hometown mom and pop cafe a try!! The flavors and portions were great! The homestyle potatoes were fresh and the pancakes fluffy!

Only critique would be ti clean the booth windows bc they were very dirty and smudged with finger prints.

But overall a great family diner with fresh food and polite service.“

“iI you are looking for a fun atmosphere with yummy food and drinks, this is your place. This was our impromtu date night and we will be back. We had riesling, beer, spicy chicken wings, garlic noodles, and the yummiest over baked and glazed brussels sprouts. To top it off, we ordered the bread pudding cream brulee and I must say the flavors of the vanilla ice cream, bread pudding, chocolate, and creme brulee all melts in your mouth. get ready for a party 🥳 in your mouth. Highly recommended.“

“We used to live in the neighborhood where The Pony Room is located, so naturally, we were “regulars”. Ten years ago we relocated to North Scottsdale, but like many full time Zonies we travel to San Diego a few times every year and always enjoy The Pony Room a couple times a year. The service is the best, the menu is excellent and you can't beat the outdoor seating, especially at sunset. We enjoy the lamb lollipops, salmon and Dover sole. When I retired last year, I took my whole firm for an amazing dinner. Everyone from New York and San Francisco loved it!“

“What a great restaurant at the Bernardo Winery. It's the perfect place to meet up with friends for lunch before walking around the cute winery and do some shopping in the boutiques on site.

There are lots of outdoor tables to choose from and most are shaded. It opens at 11am and it was busy soon after. We went on a weekday too.
You can get wines from the tasting room or delicious coffee from Manzanita next door.

You order from the counter and your food will be delivered to your table. Everything we had was delicious though the pizza was a little on the burnt side from the wood fired oven.

Parking: There are two small parking lots and plenty of street parking.“

“One of our special date night places when in the San Diego area. Outdoor seating is great and food is wonderful. Rancho Santa Fe in the evening is quiet and you can just have a nice conversation over dinner.“
