“What a night! On vacation in Eureka, we asked a local at the dog park for a dining recommendation. Our server was Jake, and he performed quite well. Old Town Eureka was prepped for the Christmas walk, parking was free, and it was unseasonably warm.

Wood-fired hen with fingerling potatoes.
Grilled steelhead with lobster risotto.

Chocolate torte with s’mores topping.

“The service and food were both excellent this evening! I was especially looking forward to a good ribeye steak, unfortunately due to a shipment mixup there were no ribeye. However, they upgraded my dinner to a mouth-watering filet at no charge. Needless to say, I was not disappointed! We also got the rack of lamb and the table-side ceaser salad. Everything was excellent, and I can't wait to come here again!“

“Anyone who’s ever gone to an excellent restaurant knows that it is required to make reservations well in advance. Expecting a very busy restaurant to answer the phone at all times is completely ridiculous because the restaurant is a fluid entity and you need to go with what decisions best serve who are already sitting in the restaurant. I find the Diver to always have excellent service and excellent food. I eat there at least twice per week and the service is always reliable and pleasant, as well as an inviting atmosphere. I highly recommend this to those who are into town whether a local or just visiting.“

“I had a grilled hot dog and fries and then a ice cream cone for dessert. This is an old style hamburger stand with pictures and models of old cars on the walls. They are great entertainment for kids and adult kids that still like old cars. There is both indoor and outdooe seatng. There is a full selection of frozen treats from cones and sundaes. The banana split looked real tempting. I am planning another visit on my next trip to Eureka.“

I have never experienced a more positive work environment nor felt as welcome as I have here since day one. There's good reason this Cafe has been so successful for so long. The tri-tip sandwich is my favorite, but I find I enjoy their vegan dishes almost as much. Try the chocolate chip cookies made fresh from scratch!“

Today we had a big order and when we got home we were missing an item. we went back and they were apologetic and nice. they even through in an extra item as an apology without us even having to ask. I get it. It's IHOP not a five star Michelin restaurant. But they do what they do and they do it incredibly well.
