“First timer here. The food was good. The fish was fried to perfection, and the portiin size was great. The fish was larger than I had anticipated. The fries were OK ( only because the fish was put on top of it so by the time I went to eat the fries, they were soggy from the Fish). The Cole slaw was delicious.
My kids ordered the chicken strip and I liked that it was battered and fried exactly like thr Fish. Loved the crunch. My only complaint is that it taste like it was fried in the same oil as the fish so the kids said their chicken taste like fish.
The restaurant was not well ventilated. The AC was cranked (I'm assuming for the cooks since I can only imagine that the fryers would get very hot). Unfortunately because the AC was blasting....as a patron, it felt REALLY COLD.
Also, i wish they had a way to vent out the fried food smell. The fried fish smell is very strong when you first step into the restaurant. Obviously over time, you get used to the smell but if they can figure out a good way to air out the place, that would be great.
The guy cooking was extremely fast and efficient..he was the only worker in there and he was knocking out orders left and right.
I would eat here again for sure.
If you are looking for Fish and Chips ... I would definitely give this place a try .

Vegetarian options: I THINK (i don't know for sure) that they fry their onion rings, French fries, and zucchinis in the same oil as their fish,other seafood and chicken so I'm not sure how "vegetarian" that would be.

“Best fish/shrimp and chips I have ever had!! Great quality seafood, cooked perfectly and reasonably priced. Super friendly service(even before my mishap)…
I left my entire purse after a long day of moving and didn’t realize it until an hour and a half later. When I went back an hour after closing there was the sweetest note on the door saying “ I have your purse don’t worry, here is my cell number”
I called and he was out with his family but offered to come back after he was done. He met us at 10:30 at night, just to get my belongings back to me!!
It’s people like this, that still give you faith in humanity.

“I been coming here a few times since they opened.

For the most part the food is very delicious. However, the day I order the Ahi tuna seared was very chewy and the rice was a bit cold.

I typically don’t return food nor complain but I felt it was necessary to post the review to help the cooks. Since it’s a nice piece of fish!!

Furthermore, the location tends to be very busy.

Even though they have once cashier to assist you when ordering. The self ordering system tends to take long since most customers aren’t familiar with the system.

I usually tend to come here during my lunch break but from now on, I will have order ahead due to the lines and my limited time.

I highly recommend the Dynamite Shrimp Bowl or the Mahi Mahi plate.

“This fast service restaurant has the best fries in Knott's--crinkle cut and fresh! Right now they are serving Hot Dogs and they have several types to choose from. We have liked all of them so far. This summer they are also having a weekly special, which is always good to have something new to try at each visit to Knotts!

“We were hungry and this was close with a good review. Come here if you are looking for something different than the regular Mexican fare. Pretty much everything on the menu is a unique blend of flavors. They feature three different mole sauces which were all good. I had the trabajo with my dish which had delicious flavor. So if you are looking for an adventure it's a good pick.“

“i recently had a delightful visit to california fish grill, and i must say the service provided by Mariam and Karla made my experience very good. Mariam and Karla were very polite and patient with me and i appreciate themand their service.their professionalism and friendly demeanor stood out, especially when compared to the other female cashiers who seemed disengaged and unhelpful. While Mariam and Karla were busy assisting customers and ensuring everything ran smoothly, the other cashiers appeared to be just sitting around, not engaging with customers or assisting their colleagues, and i have noticed that with the few times i’ve went in there.despite this, Mariam and Karla's outstanding service more than made up for it. They are a credit to California fish grill, and i will definitely be returning again because of the exceptional service they provided. i would like to thank Mariam and Karla for making my visit very enjoyable.the food here as absolutely wonderful and honestly, i haven’t had something this good since forever so also credits to the chef.“

“This is a great place to eat if you like seafood. They do have some chicken options if not everyone likes fish or shrimp. I would recommend getting the garlic sauce and the dynamite sauce. Their premium sides are also delicious. Their brussel sprouts are good as well as their corn. The rice is also good but you need to mix it with the food. I really enjoyed this place and would return to try different items.“
