“A passerby saw us looking at the menu and said this place was IT. We went in and had the best fried chicken I've had in years--I could have ordered just the crispy, crackly skin and been happy. Plus, the candied yams were amazing! We're coming back to this place.“
“I was raised on Home made Southern food so trust me i know how Southern food is supposed to taste. I've eaten here 3 times not once have I been disappointed the smothered chicken is my favorite the chicken is crispy and smothered with a delicious homemade gravy, cat fish is flavorful and always served HOTT! Collard greens crack bread fried chicken and macaroni and cheese taste just like my Grandmother's. Oh yea and the service is great everyone is very friendly and attentive! 10 STARS across the board!“
“Came here at lunch got the Catfish combo with potato salad. Really great service and very delicious fresh and what you expect when getting catfish. Girl Maria that works customer service is great! Will definitely be coming back on my lunches. Thank you!“
“This spot is in the hood of south central LA... the chicken is bomb af. It's crispy, juicy, & delicious, even on the second day. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND. It's to go only. They take all forms of payment, even Tap & Apple Pay, which is a win. They have an ATM, too, but it looks like it has AIDS tho, so use that at your own risk.? I suggest the spicy chicken, mini sweet potato pie & onion rings.“
“Ordered their taco Thursday special, BBQ brisket tacos. 3 tacos for ten bucks. These were probably the best tacos I've ever had, easily gourmet tacos. Tacos this delicious, I would expect to pay nearly triple what I paid here. I'm debating ordering more as I type this.“

“No wait at 5:30 on a Friday night. Fun location by the aquarium as well as nice park and lighthouse. Great food and service. Baby back ribs were delicious as was the Mahi MahiParking: They validate so it is freeKid-friendliness: Easy going place. Outside seating is also available“
“I would recommend it. They had 90s hip hop playing. It was a little louder than I like, but the sound of voice carried well enough for it not to be too big of a bother. Bottomless mimosas were an option with either orange or cran-pineapple. No complaints about the service. I had biscuits, pancakes, French toast, shrimp & grits. Biscuits were very good. Thick and flavorful. Pancakes were definitely buttermilk. They could've been more fluffy but we're worth it. French toast were tall and narrow. I found them too dry for my taste. But I think that's the style of the bread they use. The crust was not eggy at all...which relates to the texture of the finished item. Shrimp and grits was pretty good. I was satisfied. Overall I would recommend it and would return.“
“The ambiance is alright it's a small little shop I'm guessing they're still renovating it I'm not sure but it's on a busy street you can do a u turn so that's the good thing I didn't mind and you can park in the back aswell and the service was good I'm not gonna lie they took my order quickly didn't wait that long like 15-20 minutes for my food it was worth it though I'm not gonna lie them fries are good as hell perfectly seasoned and not too hard just crispy/ limp but that slaw was amazing that's what I think had a crazy amount of flavors in it, it was the best slaw I've ever tasted I honestly wouldn't mind just ordering their slaw alone and their chicken is crispy as hell perfectly coated in flavor and breading the juice is seen in the bites you take it's good as hell and their sauce is good the yellow one is amazing it taste almost identical or similar to the chicken-fil-a sauce but that's my opinion you should decide on your own and see but also white sauce is also pretty good and overall it was pretty great I'm not gonna lie yall should come and try it fs!!!!“
“Went there today just before closing. Purchased oxtails with candied yams & rice and gravy. Excellent tasting, the gravy was delicious oxtails were falling off the bones and the candied yams were very good also. Did not really like the corn bread dressing. The hostess, Star was very friendly and welcoming. I'm from the Chi and recommend it highly. Price was right also.Looking for good food check Matthews at 2222 W. Rosecran out. They also have delivery. Thanks Star, MickeyParking: Many“
