“[Review #808] 2024-007 Food Order: PAD SEE EWE (stir fried flat rice noodles, steamed tofu, eggs, Chinese broccoli) LUNCH SPECIAL with RICE, GREEN SALAD & CRISPY WONTON, MANGO STICKY RICE I was craving Thai food, but my former go-to no longer serves with consistency. Warin Thai popped up on my search; it's a bit farther in Harbor City but I'm down for good food. It was my office's weekly lunch treat & needed to run an errand nearby, so it was perfect! Located across from Kaiser, off the corner of PCH & Normandie Ave., the restaurant sits on the far right corner of the Harbor Plaza 1. Parking is free, with limited spaces, & they are tight. I called in my order, & actually called a couple of times because I couldn't get through & wasn't sure if they were open. When I finally got through, a pleasant voice greeted me, took my order & repeated it before ending the call. Upon entry, I was greeted, my cc charged, & was out the door in a couple of mins. after snapping a few pics of the menu & dining room. The decor is plain, the tables were spaciously set apart (social distancing?), room was clean & organized during lunch rush. The round trip to/from my office was nearly 40-mins., & my lunch was surprisingly warm! The noodles were cooked to a perfect al dente, & sauced just enough to coat & nicely caramelized. I ordered tofu as the protein accompaniment, taking on the soy sauce flavors. The Chinese broccoli was also cooked just right; I just wished there was more of it. The lunch special also includes jasmine rice, green salad & crispy wonton. Nothing unusual about the salad, just your typical greens. It's a decent lunch portion, though I can't imagine what the regular looks like. I finished off with a serving of the classic mango sticky rice. It was absolutely delicious... & most satisfying!! Though the menu is compact, it contains the standards & then some. Decent portions, but you definitely get the bang for your buck here! Excellent & friendly service, though I had an issue getting through on the phone even past lunch rush (after 1:00 PM). I'm definitely game for more good eats here... a South Bay hidden gem that's waiting for you to discover! Recommended: Pad See Ewe Lunch Special, Mango Sticky Rice.“

It’s located in an unassuming plaza that also has an amazing sushi spot. “Best thai place I had in awhile. Great value. I had the beef satay and my wife had the chicken satay. Beef satay is bomb. I recommend the cucumber salad over the papaya salad. “I've been a bit under the weather and I needed some spicy soup to help me get better. Sophy's is one of my favorites and it hit the spot. Ordered more food so hubby could be fed. He was very happy with his choices. The food was so delicious, timing was great, and service was wonderful as always. I've been going to Sophy's since they were originally located on Anaheim. Also, potions are generous, we have enough for at least 4 more meals.“

“This is a good place to come it. There is a big parking lot to park your car. There was a lot of room to sit and eat. The food was good. The orange chicken seemed a bit hard. The outer part of the orange chicken felt crunchy. I like my orange chicken when it is soft. It was ok. The salad and rice were great. The egg roll was good, too. Parking space is good, from parking lot to street parking since they are located at the corner PCH and Sherman Pl. This place has been around quite sometimes, and this is one of my top choices for noodles. Their interior is very cultural, like from table cloths to ornaments. Love the dark theme. Thai NoodlesBeef stew, beef tripe, tendon, beef ball, beef insides, shrimps, watercress, bean sprout, green onion, cilantro, and roasted garlic.2. XO Fried Rice(Shrimps and Beef)Special XO sauce, eggs, green onion, jalapeno, tomato, and cucumber.4. “This place . AMAZING. I absolutely recommend the iced Thai tea. This inside is gorgeous ! If you're looking for best entrée, GET THE GARLIC NOODLE SHRIMP. The drunken noodles is also great! “Such a pretty spot! I came here with a group on our last day in LB. the food was great and the cocktails were spectacular. I would def go for the fried rice and they brought out the spice rack which made the food even better. Service was great and we were able to have a quiet dinner upstairs. My group got a range of different food items all were unique and delicious. My crab fried rice was very good. I recommend the Mai tai and you must leave room for dessert they have an entire dessert menu!“

“I’ve been looking for a good place to eat in Long Beach away from the chains by the Pike and I was very pleased with Charm Siam. My friends and I got the Boat Noodle and Pad Thai, both were flawless with flavor you won’t get anywhere else. I was pleased by the menu, many dishes were authentic and sometimes harder to find at other Thai restaurants I’ve tried. Our servers were kind and attentive. Excellent place to eat and my top choice for Long Beach. Prices are reasonable, rarely going above 15$ average.“

“This place reminds me of chiang mai! The flavors are great and the people who work there are as sweet and friendly as the people of chiang mai. Maybe the flavors have been slightly changed to accommodate American tastes but for the most part everything is really tasty here. So glad there's a few thai places worth going to in South bay and not have to drive all the way to Hollywood. As a shout out the three bowl thai spots in gardena (bowl thai, sweet rice and bowl thai grill) are my other favorite thai spots. But this one is very close if you live in the south bay. Definitely worth a visit. Crab fried rice is very tasty and the chicken khao soi is very good.“

“Excellent service! Beautiful ambience . Wide selection of Thai or Japanese food . I was given to try a fried salmon sushi in a light sweet sauce as a appetizer . I ordered a eel hand roll though it came unrolled it had more pieces of the cooked eel then I usually get in a cone shaped hand roll . Ordered a cooked Yellowtail Collar with a squeeze of lemon it was fine . The plum wine was delicious and reasonable . Going back today to try the Thai food .“

“A friend recommended this place. Everything was very fresh. I appreciated the cream cheese wontons and papaya salad. The pad Thai was good but a little too sweet for my liking. The panang curry was good but needed more vegetables. The Thai iced tea was good as well. Overall a good place for Thai food and worth a try if you are local.“

I wasn't able to have the wonton but the curry itself was good (although it's hard to mess up coconut milk & curry paste). “Thai tea is delicious! The egg with the gravy is also good! The pork riblets are amazing. Today I tried the yellow curry "spicy". It wasn't that "spicy" but there was one instance where I bit a Thai chili in the curry which I enjoyed very much and at the same time I was glad I only bit into one. I prefer the pineapple curry over the yellow but I will try the others down the line.“
“CASH ONLY. As of now, this is the closest place to get Thai Boat noodles from where I stay. Normally, my husband and I would prefer to go to LB Thai, but when we don't want to make that drive, we go here. The broth for the Thai Boat is always thick, rich, and full of flavor. I wasn't a big fan of their Hainan Chicken, which they only serve on certain days, but their Rad Na was pretty good. Super saucy with their gravy, but flavorful, nonethless. The pricing is pretty steep here for the serving size that you get. I felt like my plate of Rad Na didn't have too many noodles as I'd normally get elsewhere, but it felt like more veggies instead. I didn't really feel full after my meal, but it was fine. I wasn't trying to feel super stuffed either, I guess. But this is the place you want to go in the north for Thai Boat cravings. “I visited this restaurant for lunch over the weekend. It was quite busy, with many takeout orders being placed. I ordered the Spicy Basil Beef and Green Curry. Both dishes allowed the option to choose the level of spiciness, and I found that mild spicy was just right for me; the regular spicy was quite hot. Each dish was around $10, making it very affordable. The food was delicious, and I'm definitely planning to return.“

You order/pay at the counter first and then can take a seat. Indoor and outdoor seating available. There’s a self-service water spout next to the counter and you can also help yourself to utensils/sauces. The overall vibe is casual. Credit cards accepted. Parking is easy as this place is located in the Tokyo Centre plaza. It’s good for big groups as well as kids.“
