The Source Cafe (est 2017) is a popular and fun little breakfast spot right on Pier Avenue in Hermosa Beach. It has a cool vibe, lots of fun things on the menu, healthy smoothies, and baked pastries. Interior design and layout were brilliant with abundant natural light.

We came on an early weekend morning to grab breakfast; it was my first time at this cafe. I was warmly greeted by a male staff with a smile. I ordered an iced coffee and avocado toast. Both items were solid. Breakfast AT was delightful and healthy.
Services were spot on. Prices were fair for the area. Plenty of street metered parking.

Overall, this cafe is a good spot for breakfast. I recommend it.“

“I truly adore this place. My cousin with celiac who rarely vacations came to visit me. I was panicked as I am new to LA and most places I found were not 100% gluten free. I came across this gem and we were both obsessed. We even went in two nights in a row! The food and wine are superb and every employee is dynamic, kind, informative, and all-around lovely. They also introduced me to my new favorite wine: Moravia for life! Very thankful to 401k for making my cousin’s trip and for cementing itself as one of my new favorite places.“

“This is said to be the oldest and most beloved mochi shop in the area.

We picked up a 10-piece assortment that included ohagi, injeolmi mochi, steamed buns, and various manju.

The store itself looks like it’s barely hanging on—honestly, you might walk right past it if you didn’t know what you were looking for.
But the flavors are simple, clean, and feel homemade. No artificial aftertaste or overpowering sweetness—just old-school comfort.

I especially liked the ohagi and the cinnamon manju.
One of my companions loved the injeolmi mochi and also the cinnamon manju, while another really enjoyed the steamed bun and the white bean-filled manju.

If you appreciate traditional flavors and a nostalgic, home-style vibe, this place is worth checking out.“

“Today was my time visiting this location the woman at the counter comes out a little rude .. I asked a question by it being my first visit.. I asked were the cookies in the counter day old she snapped in her response saying they would be in the basket if they were .. maybe she was having a bad day .. but I will be coming back everything I ordered was excellent. “Hi I love this cafe - the food is healthy, tasty and wide-ranging in cuisines, and the people, Mimi and Justin, make it feel like another home. Mimi is a warm, consummate professional who can handle anything, events-wise, and the space is versatile for any kind of casual and convivial gathering. This place is one of my favorite “third spaces” for working when I need a change of environment from the home office (there are tables that overlook the pool), painting (I’m a huge fan of the paint and sip classes) or just hanging out. Neighbors can consider it a great resource for meals and snacks off the beach (and anytime), entertaining for occasions and even just to grab a bottle of wine or party-food supplies for friends who drop by. The owner was so incredibly kind and helped us pick out the right things to feed 30+ people, was super responsive via email, and even met us in person when we picked up our order to offer her heartfelt condolences. They went above and beyond to help make this difficult day easier and we were blown away not only by their compassion, but the quality of their baked goods! The memorial guests devoured everything and many of them remarked to us how great the food was :) I can't recommend Cara Mia enough and hope to visit again under happier circumstances. “Wow so freaking good!! Genuinely the best bowl I’ve ever had. I got the mixed grilled chicken bowl with lemon thyme sauce while my boyfriend got the same but with the chipotle sauce. Both were great! Pretty cute they wrote a little thank you note on the take out box too:)

If I were to complain about anything it would be to add a little more protein portion to eat bowl. Otherwise I highly recommend this place!“
