“First time here with my family. We were a party of 9. They greeted & seated us quickly. We ordered the egg rolls, spring rolls, & wontons Some of us ordered combos & others shared plates that were chow mein & sweet and sour chicken. Everything came out at the same time. I ordered a hot tea for my drink. It hit the spot. They were so sweet & called us hun. Made us feel so welcome! Thank you! I will be here again in the future :)“

“Okay so right when Jimmy's sushi took over the last Chinese food spot I decided to give it a shot ! & It was SO worth it ! The employees are awesome ( I believe it's father & son) they have FRESH ingredients & their hand rolls are top tier , but what really got me were their prices ! They have GREAT prices for quality sushi ! I've gotten the pleasure of trying their spicy tuna hand roll & the crispy tempura roll , both AMAZING! I really am so happy Modesto had a great sushi spot on this side of town ! I say absolutely give this place a shot ! You will not be disappointed 👍“

“our friends told us about the Golden Bowl Chinese Restaurant in Waterdord CA. it was a quick 11 mile drive from our home in Modesto CA. We were greeted when we walked in and seated at a booth. Our server and his assistant were very friendly. We started off with 2 egg rolls. They were hot and the dipping sauce was really good. I had the Garlic Chicken with steamed rice. My wife had the Szechwan Chicken with steamed rice. I was impressed with my garlic chicken, it had really good flavor and was a large portion. It reminded me of David Wongs China Gate in Modesto. so if you are in the Waterford area and craving Chinese food check out the Golden Bowl. The parking may be tight as there are a few businesses in this small strip mall.“

“I ordered the orange chicken, pork chow mein, and pork fried rice with a eggroll. It was very delicious, the orange chicken was cooked perfectly, it had a very nice crust, not too oily and the chicken inside was moist and delicious. The pork chow mein noodles were cooked very good, done just the way it should be. Seasoned very good, and not mushy at all. The rice was normal, yet still delicious. The eggroll was normal. Over all it was a very decent meal and I enjoyed it. It smelled clean and looked clean, I will definitely be coming back and I encourage you to give this spot a try. You want be disappointed!“

“My son introduced me to this place and it has been my go to ever since large portion good prices and amazing taste. Plus good customer service. They closed on Mondays, so sadly I made the mistake craving their food to go to a competitor and literally threw away $55 worth of food the food was disgusting at the other place. “The Golden China Restaurant has a lot of 5 star reviews so we decided to stop there on our way back from Lake Topaz. We had a mixed experience. The easy part is cleanliness which I rated as 5 star under 'Atmosphere'. Golden China is as clean as restaurant can be. Both bathrooms were operating table spotless on a busy Sunday afternoon.

Our expectations for the food may have been too high from the previous reviews. It's standard Chinese-American food. I am a fan of this style of cuisine, but I am not sure how you make it '5 Star'. I had Seafood Chow Fun. (This was not on their menu, but they were happy to make it when I requested it.) It was good (pictured). I would have liked a few more scallops, but I always want more scallops.

Price for 2 with 1 beer was $45.15 after tax. I would eat at the Golden China again, but I would not drive out of my way to do so.“

“I LOVE LOVE LOVE this place. Had a mix up on my bday lunch with the restaurant, they fixed it the next day. The people who work here are very nice as well as the owners.... The girl who answers the phone with no accent is VERY Good at customer service, if I could rate m experience with her alone it's be 10 stars 🙂

The chow main in AMAZING. Noodles are BIG and soft, sooo yum.

The ONLY thing I WISH they did is give you a choice between rice and chow main in the lunch special. ☹️ They should give u a veggie chow main or fried rice choice, in my opinion.... But that's just curious chow main is my FAVORITE food. 😋

“We dined here on a Tuesday night as the only customer dining in the restaurant. They had
multiple to go orders while were there, as I believe this is the norm for earlier in the week. We have dined here on fri and sat and there are more dine in patrons. The tables are set up nice with cloth napkins and condiments on each one. We ordered the combo plates which arrived steaming hot and tasty, with plenty of leftovers for the next day. My only concern was the gung pow chicken had more vegetables and peanuts than chicken. The chicken was cut up very small and difficult to find among the veggies. My husbands sweet and sour pork were large enough pieces that he asked for a knife to cut it bite size.This is our favorite Chinese restaurant, however I will order another protein next time.“

“Sonora location. Tried when first opened and few weeks ago. It was clean (new) and great service. Re-visited yesterday and totally the opposite! Counter was dirty, all food was low. It was 4 o’clock and not busy. The cook, other gentleman and waitress was very unprofessional and unsanitary! The cook, yes while wearing gloves, continued to touch dirty services and our food. At one point he had his cell phone in his hand looking at it while cooking our food. Phone back in dirty pocket, touching his hair then back to cooking our food! The conversation between the three of them were load and unprofessional. I was so ready to leave! Definitely won’t be returning anytime soon.“

“this is my favorite Chinese food place in town. I haven't been able to have it in awhile ( medical / dietary reasons ) and on Christmas my family ordered it. I only had an itty bitty amount, and today my husband brought me in for lunch. I'm a few weeks post op and got to talking with Sandy, and she made all sorts of suggestions to help me better pick and choose menu items I can safely eat. she was so kind and exchanged numbers with me so she can help whenever. “Very short wait time for amazing food, cooked by a woman that you can very much tell loves what she's doing.

“Went for lunch here today with my boyfriend. We went for the Chinese side of the cuisine and ended up both getting japanese food. He got tonkotsu and chicken teriyaki lunch plate and I got yaki udon. I really love udon so it was nice seeing it on the menu, the udon was super good and I felt the portion sizes for me was perfect. My boyfriend did feel like he could have had a little bigger portion sizes, but also cant complain because the price was not bad at all for what we got. I also tried his food and thought it was very good. We definitely would love to come back again.“

“I ordered over the phone for Pickup: Beef Vegetable Stir Fry and Chicken Fried Rice. Tasted good just as I expected. Only thing I don't like is the typical chinese restaurant puffy beef meat. Their chicken meat is not puffy, so it tasted better. If you cannot eat oyster sauce (e.g. due to allergies to crustaceans), make sure you tell them so and to substitute oyster sauce with soy sauce for the fried rice and substitute brown sauce with white sauce for the stir frys. That's what I did, and the nice lady who took my order made sure the food was done to my request. Pricing is good.“

“we eat there often since we found the buffet a year ago. The girls in there are very on spot. They refill your drinks and wagon when you leave, they vacuum the tables, wipe the tables and the chairs off. It is so clean. The food is delicious.“
