“How friendly and gracious can you get? What a wonderful selection of homemade pastries for morning coffee: we had a buttermilk donut - melt in the mouth, buttermilk tang, a little greasy; an incredible moist scone filled with fruit; and a soft raised glazed (not too sweet); plus they offered suggestions for our visit in town. WE WILL BE BACK!“
“Tommy's kitchen has the best most authentic food in town. Tommy brings an old world charm and he hand makes everything his service and the ambience in this place is great but most importantly you'll be eating it at home I would love to see someone come in one day with Tommy reopen the restaurant and serve everybody the way they used to and that would bring him a ton of joy, but until then bring the best food in town home. He is well worth the money and the time he's a class act and this restaurant is true the best food I've had in a long time I'll be coming back and I I've already recommended multiple friends in the area, I know he'll be getting reviews from them too“
“First time eating here, even before they moved to this new spot. I had a patty melt, it was delicious, kids had ice cream and enjoyed every bite. I'm glad there is another spot where you can get food other than the lumber mill in the middle of the day.“
“Cafe Aroma says that they hope your experience is everything you hope it to be..... Our anniversary dinner was amazing from the moment we were warmly greeted by Manager Daniel to when the last dish was removed by our attentive busser, Saul. Our waiter, Edgar, was fantastic! He did everything to make our dinner special. I was very impressed with how sensitive he was to my dietary restrictions and suggested the perfect choices. Everything was amazing from our first sip of wine to our dessert. We will definitely be back!“
“I'm in love with this place! Talk about nostalgic! Outdoor seating is awesome the view the whole vibe. This is what I want to see when I go to the mountains. I want the rustic old-school vibes and smells! Right when I walked in it reminded me of our cabin we would go to as a kid Books and decor are so reminiscent and pleasant. It was funny because I thought the Elvis poster was a real guy lol! Customer service and the Hometown touch is what I think is most important when you go up to the mountains. I don't want to feel like I am in a commercial area. The hot chocolate was delicious and the food was amazing! It just hit all the spots and made the day feel so good it's conveniently located right when you come in so I would say you can start your day off there go run around have dinner somewhere else as you head back out. I'll post some photos it was just super cute very old-school without having the stuffiness or the I need to be clean and dusted smell. It was clean and pleasant and inviting but it still had those nostalgic cabin feel and smell that you like. The restaurant mascot was the icing on the cake. Customer service was fantastic! If you read my reviews you know I'm huge on interactions. Even the people sitting there eating that were local were really nice and communicative! Jerry Ann was great met Ron and there was another lady I did not get her name but she was so sweet and everything it was super fast! It's so hard to get a cheers meets friends vibe when you go places and it was all here. I'm loving it and I'll be back this week!“
“The food was GREAT. Our seating was mediocre at best. They put us in an alcove where the seats hit the wall on both sides with minimal space. We did turn the table diagonal and it made the seating more comfortable, but the lighting was bad. Service...eh. It took 25 minutes to get our waitress to take our drink order, and another 15 for her to return and unscrew the top. She had 2 other tables but she came upstairs and returned downstairs 3 times without even looking our way. Before we were presented our dinner, it had been 1 hr and 10 minutes. The waitress had no self awareness and when my wife mentioned the table next to us had a party that was still eating when we arrived and the next party had been served and were nearly finished before we ordered, the waitress tried to offer an excuse. Good thing neither of us responded to her "it's not me" attitude. We will probably return for another try but will be more discriminating about seating and service.“
“Warm, cozy & comforting are the best descriptions for this place. Homemade breakfast, pastries & sandwiches, hot & cold beverages all served fresh! Be in early as they finish & close early. Bear the line & expect so much goodness! They have a nice porch where you can enjoy your breakfast while kids can play in the yard :)“
“Stumbled accross this place while exploring Idyllwild and my boyfriend and I really enjoyed it! Located in the small town, not far away from anything at all, this place really satisfied! Seating isn't the best. There's a bench, some walls and some tables but us with our big partt, struggled to find seating. But that didn't stop us from enjoying all our treats on the nice day! We just went to the central area across the street and sat on the benches there. We got ice cream, churros and beef jerkey. The Ice Cream was really good. There was something about it that just seemed homey. The churros were definitely fresh. They were nice and warm and you could see the steam. The beef jerkey was super flavorful. If you're ever in Idyllwild, definitely give this place a try. They have lots of variety and the service is great!“
“Came to idyllwild to celebrate my birthday and wow!!! It did not disappoint. Great views, there’s a river/stream right in the parking lot. The food is unique and so tasty (which is why I love eating at breweries) and the service was top notch. Chance was our server and he treated us great and had awesome knowledge of the menu. I asked for a mocktail and it was DELISH. We ordered the strawberry aquachile and wow, it beat my expectations. Super happy birthday girl here. I also got a free dessert. Wooo! If you’re in the area 10/10 recommend. Even if you’re not in the area, totally worth the scenic drive.“
“We always enjoy our visits to Wine Finch. The staff is very knowledgeable and friendly. The wines are good and are fairly priced. They also have a wine club. I highly recommend joining. If you're looking for a place to sit, sip on a glass of wine and enjoy the views along with friendly conversation, this is the place to go.“
“Stopped in on my vacation during my birthday, never had tried this spot before, and I had no idea that sushi actually existed up in Idyllwild on the mountain. I was very impressed, this is truly a legit sushi organization and I ordered a dragon roll that was delicious, fresh and well-made with Care. It looks like a small venue that you can literally rent out with 10 to 15 friends for any occasions. I recommend it highly!“
“Was checking out a wedding venue nearby and the fiancé and I decided to stop by before our trip back down the mountain. We ordered the cheesy garlic bread sticks and just a medium pepperoni pizza and when they came out we weren't super excited for them as they looked pretty average, but man the breadsticks were surprisingly good vs how they looked! The pizza was decent enough and their ranch/marinara was really good. A little pricey for what everything is, but that's expected in a small mountain town. Service was quick, friendly, and welcoming so overall we wouldn't mind coming back the next time we're up!“
“This is a little gem. We ordered two pizzas, plain cheese and sausage. The sausage was delicious. Great flavor. The pizzas are hand-tossed. The crust was crisp and and was put on a pan that kept the pizzas from getting soggy. Their bread is fresh baked and the tepanade was flavorful. We had them make us an antipasto salad and they the meats on the salad were high quality and delicious. The service was excellent. Our waiter, Kevin, was so fantastic. He was professional, courteous and very attentive. Place is tiny but cozy and nicely done. It was a great dining experience.“
“We needed to get outta the cabin, so we headed to the Fort in town. It was a bit drizzly while we shopped. We stopped by Mamma Mia's located on the second floor of the Fort with great views of town. I wish we were hungry as the crepe selections were the best I've ever seen, especially the bubble waffle which I will try on my next visit. Mathew greeted us! He was professional, outstanding personality and made us feel so welcome. My friend had a decaf Mocha Latte and I had the boring Hot Chocolate. I say that now, but my Hot Chocolate is the best in town besides the sipping chocolate ($8) at El Buen Cacao which is different. My friend thought his Mocha Latte DeCaf was also the best in town and we live in Idyllwild and have had coffee at other places. I can't wait to go back and try their crepes! Mathew is such an asset to Mamma Mia's and can't wait to visit him again. Kudos!“
“i wanted to get some breakfast but they don't serve anything but a belgian waffle, which my uncle ordered; the other patrons, while finishing their meal questioned his choice of lunch. all in good faith i suppose.i ordered the cheeseburger with Gorgonzola and it was good, i want to give this place five stars because their service is off the hook, and they have cute waitresses, but their fries were soggy. really soggy, almost to the point where i wanted to complain but didn't have the heart to. it was in the middle of nowhere, i guess they just cook their fries like that? maybe it's the elevation. who knows.otherwise it's a good place, it breaks the banality of the other eateries around town.“
“We usually eat breakfast here when we're in Idyllwild. I recommend the Trio breakfast or the steak and egg burrito. Be aware, they serve large portions. I personally think the burrito ? feeds two people for sure. Best breakfast place so far. You'll spend appt 65 bucks for three people.Parking: There's about 17 parking spots and street parking adjacent. It will be full on weekends though. We haven't had problems finding parking yet.“
