The Sands Hotel team recently managed to snag one of the 3 best bartenders (Ryan Z) in Palm Springs to manage their Pink Cabana cocktail program; Palm Springs loss is most definitely their gain (and worth the short drive).

The space itself is gorgeous; the kind of slightly hidden hotel that you sorta’ have to know about. Enter through the grand double doors into the hotel lobby and through yet another set of doors, and a stunning pool area and restaurant unfold in front of your eyes. The vibe feels a bit like something out of a 1950’s movie. Just as importantly however is the quality of the food and drinks. Spot on!

Now that this unique Indian Wells space has brought in Ryan; it will get even better. I’ve definitely found a new spot worth leaving Palm Springs for.“

I have tried many Mexican restaurants in the 8 years I have lived in Palm Desert and I truly must say the food was excellent, the service from Javier at the bar was welcoming and friendly and the environment was awesome so far as not crazy loud but a nice hum of other guests. “Eight Desert Divas dined at Sí Bon Restaurant in Rancho Mirage on Thursday. We were celebrating one of our own lovely Diva's birthday. We made reservations ahead of time (thankfully) because they were VERY busy. It is a popular place. The service was excellent. The menu was great. They offer a summer menu which includes a three course dinner for $32. They also have a happy hour menu. I ordered the meat loaf dinner and it was delicious and plentiful. Others selected steak with fries, tacos, mussels, and a few other items. There were no complaints at all. They even brought out a birthday chocolate mousse with a candle and 8 individual spoons to honor our birthday girl. Our server was wonderful and he gave us separate checks (which we always appreciate). It was definitely a special night and we highly recommend Sí Bon. Be sure to make reservations ahead of time. You won't be disappointed.“

The place is attended by its owner Tara, who is such a chatty, ally, and kind person. The place is decorated with that Palm Springs MCM style and just has such a cute ambiance of its own.

“I just tried this place last week as I am staying in Palm Springs for a month. I loved the sandwiches! I might go back today to explore more of their food, and buying some of their awesome Vegan shirts and merch!“

“Friends of ours have brought Luna grill food to our home, but this is the first time we actually went ate at the restaurant. The service is amazing. We were approached no less than four times by different servers asking how we were and if we needed anything else. The food is excellent. The pita bread is warm and tasty and the food portions are very generous, and delicious as well.

“Everything was delicious! At first I thought it as a bit expensive but now I look at my bill and it’s quite reasonable. I got the chicken gyro sandwich plate and the gyro was delicious, just how I like it with lettuce and tomato and maybe other veggies inside. It came with a side salad, which made it a decent value imo.

Oh and I got an Arnold Palmer with their housemade lemonade and iced tea and it’s fantastic. There’s some flavor I can’t place… some sort of spice? Unusual tea? I’m not sure but I love it!

Then for dessert I got the chocolate baklava … where has this been all my life!!! Delicious 😋“

And we didn’t feel rushed nor did we stay very late.“

I’ve had GOOD pizzas, but it’s been over a decade since I’ve had an innovative one. These are works of art, very well done. I love the rockabilly vibe too. “I really wish I would have taken a picture of my vanilla yogurt bowl but I just dove in! It had bananas, strawberries, and blueberries. All of the fruit was sweet and looked absolutely delicious. The granola was still crunchy and the yogurt was fantastic. I also ordered a brown sugar white mocha iced latte and it was to die for. Creamy, balanced, not too sweet, not too acidic, and just flat out worth the calories. This family owned and run business is my new favorite spot for a morning or mid afternoon pick me up!“

But today the fries were barly warm, and the burger wasn't super fresh Either.

“You know how there are places you wish were close to where you live and at the same time, wish they were further away?! This is one of them. Although I expect that if there was one near where I live, I hope I'd be able to exercise a little self control.
The ice cream here is so fresh and delicious, it's hard to describe. For instance, their coffee ice cream tastes like pure coffee as opposed to coffee flavoring. The same goes for all of their flavors.
It appears that there are only 6 locations on the West Coast and 3 of them are in Palm Springs/Palm Desert. Nothing on the East Coast.
There are locations in Hawaii as that is where this ice cream eminated from. That's also where I first had this amazing delicacy.
If you have the good fortune of coming across one of the stores, I obviously highly recommend it.“

“I’m so thrilled to have found this place. Most authentic Thai food restaurant in the valley. They even had one of my most favorite dishes from Northern Thailand, called Khao Soi. Oh and if you order the Phad se ew, have it with the crispy pork as the protein.“

Think upscale, over-the-top, music-memorabilia golf pub rather than a tired chain restaurant with guitars on the wall.“

“I've come here more times than I can count and it's always delicious. There aren't many GOOD vegan options in the Coachella Valley, but the tofu bahn mi from here is superb!! If you're vegan or avoiding dairy you can order a tofu banh mi without mayonnaise. They also have vegan tofu spring rolls with peanut sauce. The lemonade and teas from here are also delicious and refreshing. The staff is always kind and will answer any questions you may have. Overall, this is a lovely spot to get some good food 😋 I highly recommend it to vegans and meat eaters alike.“
