“I recently visited Mike Hess in Imperial Beach and was thoroughly impressed! The service was top-notch, and the prices for drinks and food were very reasonable. The bathrooms were spotless, which speaks to the high maintenance standards. The outdoor area was a delight, with lawn games, cornhole, and fire pits available for cozying up. Plus, they host fun events like trivia nights, making it a great spot for socializing. Overall, Mike Hess is a gem in Imperial Beach - I highly recommend it.“
“I was looking at the local breweries in the area and this one popped up. I've heard of them because of the collaborations they've done with other breweries so it was a must try. We weren't disappointed. Staff was amazing. Everyone was kind and accommodating. I was gazing at the beer list and an employee asked me what kind of beers I liked and allowed me to sample a few to pick the one I enjoyed most. They were all tasty. There was a variety for everyone. Pizza and wings were delicious. It's close to the beach and a cool place to people and car watch. We happened to see a bunch of vintage VW bugs and busses pass by which was really cool.“
“A great brewpub in the Gaslamp. Tasty beers, attentive staff and super dog friendly. Lots of special offers, like game day discounts, which is also nice to see. Didn’t eat here, but the food looked good. A good place for hanging out with your mates.“
“I’ve frequented plenty of breweries on the west coast, and I have a handful of favorites but East Village is another level. I literally have not have a bad beer from them, and that’s especially impressive since they typically drop a new beer a week. The owners are great, always happy to geek out with you. The staff is friendly and attentive, makes it feel like your hanging at a friends house. I just cannot speak highly enough of this place. An absolute gem among the already incredible SD brewing scene.“
“We stopped here for some after dinner drinks. What a great decision! We really enjoyed the ciders and the seltzers. Excited to try some of the best next time we come. There was trivia the night we were there and there are patio heaters to keep you warm in the evening. Would recommend for tourists and locals!“
“Delicious food and fun atmosphere. We came for late lunch before concert at Petco Park. Was fun to hear the sound check and Billy Joel. So many fun places to sit- see pictures. We sat on 2nd floor balcony and had prompt and friendly service by Spencer. The food is EXCELLENT. We enjoyed scotch eggs, the burger and crispy chicken sandwich. Burger was cooked perfectly, juicy and served with a delicious truffle aioli and roasted tomatoes and pickled onions. Highly recommend.“
“I wasn't from the area and was prior researching good spots to ear. I wanted something just enough to last me 9 hours to hangout in Chula Vista and prep for Jiu-Jitsu/gym. The 5 Stars is on the food itself. Wish the water cup was bigger but oh well. Imma make this my Friday routine.“
“This place... IS INCREDIBLE! Originally planned on going to a taco and beer fest on the pier, the line for that must've been about 2 days long, so the bf and I decided to go somewhere else. Saw it was a close walk and went there to feed our hungry faces and have our own mini beer fest. We were NOT disappointed!!! The service was great, our bartender was a sweetheart and helpful, and the FOOD. WAS. PERFECT. I got the mac n cheese, which was voted best in San Diego for 2 years, and let me tell you by far the best I've ever had. My boyfriend got the carne asada tacos, and we also got the sweet chili garlic wings. Everything was absolutely perfect, and we were also given a few beer samples! Highly recommended going here, and we'll definitely be back“
“There are three other locations. They have Trivia Tuesday and Wing Wednesday. We just missed their happy hour from 3-5pm M-T so we just got tasters and hung out.Loved that they offer variety of food like Korean fried chicken sandwich, Bavarian pretzel, and plant based impossible burger. The beers on tap have 3 sizes.I got 5 ounce Carlsbad crush which was too hoppy for me but if you pair it with food, it took the hoppiness down and a notch. Then I had the 5 ounce Invita - Mexican lager which was light and yummy. Tasted even better with food pairing. The location is at a corner. Literally a short block from the Sante Fe Depot trolley stop. All tables were bar height except for two tables in the corner.Friendly staff and great ambiance.Dogs are allowed in the patio. However, inside dogs are reserved for service animals.“
“Cool brewery. The beer is very good. 5/5 Beer.Overall the experience was decent. The food was pretty good but nothing mind blowing. The service was lack luster. We had a very inattentive waiter that took an extremely long time to check in on us. Another waiter actually had to help us because they were so slow.“
“Our second visit here after enjoying drinks in the sun in August 2022. This time we brought our son's and they loved it too! Food is casual but quick (the loaded fries were fantastic!) We also enjoyed our drinks and the take away cups. We added to our glass collection after trying beer flights and also grabbed a t-shirt too. Would love to come again if we find ourselves back in San Diego (which would be an absolute treat!!)“
“Want a great dinner at a reasonable price, excellent beer and a view of a lifetime? Go to Mike Hess Brewing in Seaport Village and sit upstairs on the deck. We watched the sunset from here twice during our visit to San Diego. The fish tacos were ~$4 each. 2 quesadillas were $4.50. Guac and chips $6.25. All perfect for sharing - or not! People watching was fun as you look over the boardwalk - lots of characters in the crowds.“
“Unique beer options in Little Italy. I recommend trying their lemon and orange beers. Even if you don't care for them, they are not an option you will probably get to try anywhere else! They offer food and have a great Happy Hour special from 3-6 with half off of appetizers.Parking can be a little tough to find a spot nearby because it's a very busy area of Little Italy.“
“What a great location with the lights sparkling around the bay! I had the onion rings (huge and crispy!) And the chicken quinoa bowl that was delicious! Each item in the bowl had been seasoned to be an individual flavor but they all worked well together in the dish. I will absolutely order it again.Vegetarian options: They have a vegetarian version of the excellent chicken bowl I had.“
