“It was a fun atmosphere and they were accommodating to family groups. They had large tables and a great indoor and open air patio seating. I’ll have to leave the beer reviews to someone else, but the food sections were creative and tasty. We tried appetizers, salads, fish, and kids meals. I especially liked the generous avocados on some of the dishes, and spicy toppings on most of the entrees.“

“They already have great beer and now they have wine, guest beers, AND delicious sandwiches?! I have enjoyed multiple sandwiches and each one is a generous serving that satisfies all your cravings. Just like the beer, the recipes are tried and true! It is a casual atmosphere with friendly staff and patrons. The bathrooms are clean as well.

Vegetarian options: They have a great caprese sandwich and I hear there is a vegan option coming soon!

Parking: Open parking…there is never an issue

Pizza slices here are very affordable but I go to Best only during the last hour of their operating hours. You can’t beat discounted $2.50 slices of pizza which you can only get during the last hour of the day and the beer selection is huge. I’ve never been disappointed with any of the beers I’ve tried there. My go to beer is either the Best IPA or Best Hazy.

I’ve ordered a whole pie once before here and you can definitely tell the difference between a hot fresh pie versus their discounted slices at the end of the day. Both are good—A whole fresh pie has great flavor and is a bit more doughy while the discounted slices appear a little flatter. The ranch is homemade for sure. You can tell with how much dill they put in it.

The interior is comforting and a great place to hangout at.I recently went here with a group of 7. They were very accommodating and sat us in their semi-private room. The room has a nice table and the different beers listed on it. I ordered a blood orange beer. I forgot the name, but it was delicious. There was a UFC fight going on and they played it on the tv in the semi-private room!The workers are super chill and were constantly cleaning and practicing social distancing guidelines. All employees were wearing masks, which was great. I will definitely be coming back to Bear Roots once they open back up. It's now my favorite brewery/spot to grab a beer in Downtown Vista.“
