“Prompt and cordial service. Food was quick and flavorful. Waitress was attentive and check on us several times, refilling drinks as needed. The only suggestion I have is for the super torpedo sub to be lightly toasted. The Chula Vista location does it by default, so we didn't think of asking (our bad). Anyway, the sub tastes much better toasted, in my opinion“
“It's was exactly how I remembered it as a kid back in the mid 90s when it was at its original location by 7th street where the study 3 use to be. Great food with great service ? there mushrooms are my goodness can't even describe the deliciousness of them & there ravioli sheesh which ever type you get you'll love it guaranteed the only thing is I remember there meatballs were much bigger kinda a bummer but they are still good ? this restaurant I never want to see it go. This place is awesome ?“
“This restaurant was so amazing. The ambiance was great, it feels like your in italy and the service was superb. The waiters and the owner were very kind and funny. The food was delicious and each serving is quite large. We ordered the fettuccine alfredo, lasagna, fettuccine with clams and pizza Margherita and everything was top notch. For dessert we had the limoncello cake and the pistachio and ricotta cake which were delicious. They gave out table shots of limoncello which concluded the night on a great note. Overall we loved this place and would totally recommend it and definitely and come back!“
“The menu isnt extensive but has classic pasta and starter dishes. We started with the classica bruscetta and buschetta prosciutto & fichi, and the classica bruschetta was my favorite. The freshness of the tomatoes and flavor of the pesto was impeccable. We tried the cheese wheel pasta that comes with special pasta of the day (gnocchi with mushrooms and truffle) tossed in a cheese wheel and served in a pan. It was on the heavier, creamier and cheesier side and i would recommend it for those who are looking for a ooey gooey dish of pasta. Our server recommended the stuffed lobster and shrimp tortelli pasta. The sauce is creamy (but not as creamy as the cheese wheel pasta) and is made with tomatoes. The dish is topped with a big ball of burrata. We tried the espresso martini and cosmopolitan. The espresso martini had more of a strong coffee than bold liquor flavor, but the cosmopolitan was a little sweet and boozy. Overall, it was a solid meal and be prepared for a food coma afterwards. The interior is beautiful with wine bottles, paintings and pictures hanging on the wall. Street parking is the way to go. Our server was friendly, and the portions are generous for its price point.“
“Came here for the first time to celebrate a friend birthday. We had the bottomless bubbles, which was a great deal, and really enjoyed the three juices. we also acute espresso martini and our friends drink. They actually wrote happy birthday. I had chili and I thought it was delicious. The weight staff was very friendly and the ambience was very clean and prestige. I will definitely be back..“
“Ciccia Osteria is a gem of authentic Italian cuisine in the heart of Barrio Logan. The chefs, Mario and Francesca, use recipes from Northern Italy and pair them with exquisite wines. They even bake their own panettone, a traditional Christmas cake. The restaurant has a cozy and charming atmosphere, with food made with love. However, parking can be tricky, so I recommend taking an Uber. They accept walk-ins, but make sure to dress warmly in winter, as they only have patio dining. The menu has a variety of dishes to suit every taste, but my personal favorite is the mushroom flan. It is creamy, savory, and simply delicious. I also enjoyed the milanese veal, which was tender and crispy. The smoky old-fashioned cocktail and the roccotta olive oil spread for the fresh bread were also amazing. And of course, I could not resist their lasagne, which was rich and satisfying.Ciccia Osteria is my new go-to place for Italian food in San Diego. I can’t wait to go back and try more of their dishes. If you are looking for a genuine and delightful Italian experience, you should definitely check it out.Ciccia Osteria has earned a Bib Gourmand designation from the Michelin Guide. This means that it offers good quality and good value cooking, which is rare to find these days.Parking: Take an UberWheelchair accessibility: Ease first floor.“
“This place is beyond 5 stars. I’m telling you, this was the best experience I’ve had in so long. The people are fantastic, the food is outstanding, and the dessert was out of this world. I talked to the server and the desserts are made in house and the ricotta cheesecake is like nothing I’ve ever had before. Also, my friend ordered his pizza with pesto instead of regular pizza sauce and it is so different and good!! 20 out of 10 recommended!!!Parking: This location is in a residential neighborhood, it weird how it’s placed, but parking is kinda hard to find. We had to do a couple laps before we could find something. But it was worth it!“
“I am never disappointed when dining at Operacafe. Reservations are highly suggested. The service is quick if you are attending a show afterwards. The food is tasty. Staff are alert and competent. If you have not gone before, I encourage you to try it“
“The Italian restaurant and the adjacent food store had an abundance of Italian food ingredients, and it was fun just looking around inside. There are many types of cheese and ham. There are several types of wineWhen you want to make Italian food at home, you can come here to buy ingredients and have fun shopping, and you can make authentic Italian food at home.I think it's also a good idea to come and buy cheese and ham to put on bread.“
“Took my husband here for his bday. There was a total of 4 people in my party & everyone loved their food. I deducted a star for atmosphere because we happened to get a table right by the bar entrance & people were whizzing behind us with plates & it seemed like at any moment someone was gonna get smacked in the back of the head with a plate. But other than that it was a great night.“
“Me and my girlfriend had an amazing experience at Concepto Pizza. The sub I ordered was delicious – the flavors were just perfect. It’s not just food; it’s a taste experience that I’d recommend to anyone looking for a great meal. A must-try for sure!“
“Came here the other night for dinner, and the overall experience and food was good.(+) Ambience - cute restaurant.(+) Service - very friendly, attentive.( ) Focaccia - I thought it was okay, but I think the outside could have been a bit more crispy.(+) Porcini and sausage - My favorite pasta of the night, really good flavor. The only issue I had is I think they need to cook the pasta a bit more overall. All of the pastas tasted gummy and still quite doughy.( ) Roman carbonara - It was really interesting eating carbonara with rigatoni pasta. Not necessarily complaining, just an interesting observation. Flavor was good, it was very eggy, but again, the pasta was so doughy and I think needed more time.(+) Short rib ravioli - This was delicious. No notes! Great flavor, short rib was tender, pasta was actually cooked enough.( ) Tiramsu - Tiramisu was just okay, it came in a roll not in a slice, and it was fine. Nothing too standout.Would definitely come here again and try out some other stuff.“
“We were lucky to find a parking spot around 6pm and went right in for a take out! There was a line but it moved quickly especially if you are just ordering to go, you can go straight in to order. The menu is very simple which we really liked! We got the red sauce in spaghetti with meat and the pizza with everything on them. We also got the cannoli for dessert (my favorite!) the pasta was incredible! Super tasty and the sauce was spot on. The pizza’s dough was a bit thick for my liking but the flavor is really great! When we left with our order, the line just got more intense so be prepared for a bit of a wait if you’re planning to go for dinner :)“
“I didn’t eat because I ate about 20 minutes before I stopped in. The brick oven caught my eye and I had a few minutes to kill and wanted a beer. The selection of beer was limited but for a pizza eater that knows what one likes with their beer. Uber clean dining and galley. The masters know what they are doing. If I had a 3rd thumb, it would be up.Kid-friendliness: No sharp corners.Wheelchair accessibility: Easy“
“been staying in San Diego for work and this place has been my favorite place to eat since I got here, I usually get a spinach and feta calzone or any of the specialty pastas and the meal is always on point. I'm always leaving the place happy and “
“Many have enjoyed the pasta, pizza and salad at Buona Forchetta. My review is on their brunch on Friday, Saturday and Sunday mornings. It’s not well known that they are offering one of the best brunches in Coronado. We had the Eggs Benedict and it was delicious with one of the best hollandaise sauces I’ve ever had. The homemade English muffin and all of the ingredients were top notch. The restaurant was empty on a Friday morning so I think it’s time that the word got out that just a short walk from Orange Avenue, there is an outstanding brunch with a varied innovative menu! We very much enjoyed it!“
“Charming and romantic Italian restaurant in Little Italy. They have gluten free pasta and several gluten free pasta and gluten free entree options. My gluten free pasta was the best I have ever had from a restaurant. They also boast an excellent wine list! We sat outside and enjoyed a beautiful evening. There is a great view of the skyline. Our server was friendly and outstanding. Highly recommended!Dietary restrictions: Gluten Free options“
“We came here once on a recommendation, and then we’ve been back two more times in just a few weeks we’ve brought other people there, who also had a great experience, and went back the very next day. I definitely recommend it to anyone and they have a phenomenal happy hour. Make sure to ask for the garlic knots. They are complementary but you have to know to ask!!“
“A clean, pleasant place with excellent dishes. I am a frequent customer, of everything we have consumed I can only give good references. I think that if you are looking for a nice place with good dishes at reasonable prices, Italgo is the perfect restaurant.“
“We have been wanting to eat here for a while. Finely made it happen. The food was wonderful. Empenadas delicious. Steak was well seasoned and a perfect medium rare, Chimichurri perfect. Nice relaxed atmosphere. Our server Roberta was so much fun and chose an excellent wine for us. Didn't think I liked Malbec, but I do. We had their signature Puerto La Boca Malbec it was perfect. Thank you, Roberta. We will definitely be back.“
“This is a good restaurant in Little Italy, nice vibe indoor and outdoor seating available. We went at the peak of dinner time and surprisingly didn't have to wait too long to be seated. The hostess was sweet and let us decide indoor or outside seating. We sat outside on a small table for two. Unfortunately it took about 15 minutes just to get water brought to our table. A server finally came to take our order he was very friendly and professional. I ordered a cocktail that I wanted before the food but It wasn't until our appetizers arrived that he realized our drinks never came. We finally got them after our food arrived. I tried a tequila russo cocktail, It was decent. The focaccia with honey comb is amazing! Also the vodka pasta is pretty good! It's a fast paced busy vibe with people all over. Overall a nice place a little on the high end with prices but that seems to be everywhere now. Good place to check out. Parking is always an issue in this area but there are paid parking lots available.Vegetarian options: All the pastas and salads do not come with meats. They can be added at extra cost“
“Two things. Finding a good restaurant around 1 pm that's open in Gaslamp is challenge. This restaurant was open and my wife and I gave it a chance. The lobster fettuccine actually surpassed my expectations. My wife ordered the Salmone mare Chiaro and it was amazing. They managed to make the top of salmon crunchy and the inside was a perfect soft, moist texture. In my fettuccine the lobster had this nice seared ridges that gave it a crunch that I didn't think was possible. In short, they care therefore I cared to leave a review. It was amazing ?. Also Saini, our server, was attentive and kind. Love this place.“
“A must visit Italian Store in San Diego, with a variety of Italian sauces, a range of fine wines and alcohol drinks. They have ice cream corner, a deli sandwiches and Italian food as well. The staff are Wonderful, the service was Wonderful, The Food Was Wonderful. The Price . Did I say Wonderful? My goodness This is a must go. Best Italian food I have ever had .“
“Great food, efficient service. Worth the stop for pizza or sandwiches. Excellent Gyro Plate. The fries are hot n crispy, the meat tender, the soft roll stuffed full of lettuce, tomato and a creamy dill sauce. The wait was not overly long as busy as they were.“
“It was so welcoming, the decor felt like I was back in Europe during Christmas season. The was very good. Definitely recomed.Vegetarian options: If you want vegan, let her know she make what you askDietary restrictions: If you have restrictions again she will make sure you get what you ask for.Parking: You can park on the street before the turn on her street it's only 2 Homes away.Kid-friendliness: It's on a patio... so if you say your having little ones she can accommodate.“
“Excellent eclectic mix of food. We had their Grandma’s pie with fried prosciutto (just try it), calamari, tuna tartare and their signature happy hour drink. Peter, our server, was fantastic; knowledgeable and made the best suggestions for us to try. We’re only in San Diego for a few days, but we’ll likely be coming back for more.“
“I’ll walk here for coffee on some mornings. The coffee here is more my taste and style and excellently crafted each time. The part that touches my heart is the consistent warm welcome upon enter the establishment from who I believe is the owner.Parking: On the corner in little Italy; plan for street or lot parking unless walking.“
“Amazing customer service and delicious food! The doordash driver took over an hour to deliver my food! The restaurant owner offered to remake it! I am extremely impressed by the customer service and the food quality! I recommend eating at this restaurant ?“
“Comfortable and pleasant dining area, courteous staff. Pizza is delicious! It has a tasty crust, fresh ingredients. They do not offer pizza by the slice, so I ordered the Rolling Hills as a 12” thinking I would eat some there and take the rest home. I ended up eating the whole pie, it was great!“
“Cozy atmosphere, we were a party of 8 with a reservation and we were seated immediately. I enjoyed the Chilean Sea Bass with mashed potatoes and grilled vegetables. The potatoes were not warm enough for my liking, but overall, I enjoyed my experience and my food. Several others gave high praise to their order of lobster ravioli, and the Prosciutto and Bruschetta were great appetizers for sharing.“
“Delicious food but a little short staffed... Great staff tho. Love this placeDietary restrictions: I am gluten intolerant and because they use Italian flour, I can tolerate it so their bread and pasta is really delicious in all homemadeParking: Lots of parking within 10 steps of the foorKid-friendliness: Kids love pasta & pizzaWheelchair accessibility: All 1 level & plenty of space“
“Cute coffee/ dessert cafe located in little Italy. We stopped by on our way to salt and straw ice cream shop. We ordered a slice of carrot cake, espresso brûlée, caramel latte and a latte. The desserts were delicious!!! Inside and outside seating available. There is an up charge if you don’t pay with cash. Fast, prompt, efficient service. Pet friendly. Friendly, inviting ambiance. Reasonable prices.“
“We aren't from San Diego but met up with some friends for a birthday party and we loved everything about this place. The food was delicious and hot! Also, the amount of food that came out for the price was amazing. Kids had fun playing playing all the games, too! We definitely will stop again when in San “
“So good! The atmosphere, food and location are all perfect. This is a favorite of ours when we vacation in San Diego. We all have our favorites and everything is wonderful. Their Bolignese and meatballs are exceptional. Come hungry! Huge portions.“
“My 1st visit to San Diego, CA. After a long day and funeral service, I found this location for food. Sam was helpful, polite, and friendly. The lady who took my order over the phone was patience, kind, and helpful, as well. All the food I ordered was good. Especially the dessert that Sam recommended. We pizzas, salads, various wings, sandwich, shrimp, fries, garlic knots, garlic bread, fried zucchini, Mozzarella cheese sticks and ice cream. Thank you for feeding my family during our visit. We enjoyed everything.“
“Absolutely loved this small restaurant, service was amazing this busy Saturday afternoonfor the 4 of us. We had an appetizer, 4 dishes and dessert. All very affordable, delicious and filling. Beautiful presentation. We will definitely return.“
“I had been looking for a new sandwich spot since my favorite one closed down in Chula Vista. My brother invited me here for lunch, he's a regular. I honestly wasn't expecting much because of the location in this little plaza, but boy was I wrong! This place was a 10 out of 10 from the service to the food. It's a family owned establishment, which I love. The young man working behind the counter had a nice smile and was friendly and attentive. His name was Donovan and he had told me that the people who work there are family. You can tell by the way he treated us that he takes pride in his family's business. The sandwich he made me was one of the best sandwiches I have eaten in a long time! I ordered the California sandwich and I'm already wanting to go back to get another one. I highly recommend this spot and definitely will be back for more.“
“I got a slice of the basil pepperoni to go. I took it to the market space for a view of the water. This pizza was heaven!! Every bite was happiness! I’m already craving more. The young woman taking my order was friendly and helpful. Good vibes all around. Super fast too. I can’t wait to come back! (Six bucks in Little Italy is really nice too)“
“The place is in Little Italy. It is quite spacious and there is space inside and on the terrace. We loved the pizza. Also for $6 there is the opportunity to go gluten free. The pasta can also be gluten free. The flavor is good and the sauce they serve with the bread is delicious. The only disadvantage I can highlight is that there is no wifi! Sometimes if necessary!“
“I have to give 5 big stars here! True Italian food here from the atmosphere to the food is wonderful. The food is fresh & hot and pasta's al dente. Servers speak Italian to big family here. Their so amazing and excellent from seating to bring out the house made bread hot to making sure everything is perfect on your meal. We've come here more than a few times and we have had excellent service every time The food is excellent it bring us back to Italy. We have made this favorite spot. And it close to home and we don't have pay for parking like downtown This family Resturant has been here since a long time here and they made it thru the pandemic A good friend told us about Italianissimo and glad she did too! Come bring a friend and have a good lunch they have inside and outside dinning when the weather is nice. Good wine too“
“Signor Andrew, the pasta and drinks all earned five stars. Started with Magic mushroom stuffed with crab and shrimp, then I was craving pasta with seafood that wasnt on menu, Sig. Andrew arranged a white wine sauce and different pasta with dish and it hit the mark. 5 Stars!“
“Wow, just wow! Who thought 13 year old boys could learn to cook so well! It was a 60 hour program on weekends from 9am-2pm. They learned so much and both chefs are so nice, helpful and talented. I would recommend this to all children and the parents! Bravo!“
“I have purchased pizzas from this restaurant for years & never had a bad experience. Have treated friends & business associates & everyone loved it. Friend even had it at his credit union meeting along with wings & salad. Owner is a hard worker & always amiable. A place does not have to be fancy to have good food & an enjoyable atmosphere.“
“Ths food was great but honestly the staff are what made this place great. They were all very friendly and professional. They helped a disabled customer with patience and kindness, my waiter gave me a drink on him because he forgot to bring it the first time which ofcourse wasn't even a big deal to me so he absolutely did not have to do that for me. We were the last customers of the night but they never made us feel anything but welcome to be there, never pushy to get us out so they could pack up and go home themselves. The staff here deserves credit for what they do.“
“We came here Thursday night and loved it! There weren't very many people on a Thursday night and the staff was attentive. The chef came out and brought us our Arrancini and chatted with us a bit. The food was all so good!! The arranchini and the focaccia are a must. I loved the lasagna, but it is super ricotta forward so you gotta like ricotta. Over all, great night! I would recommend making a reservation on the weekend as the restaurant is pretty tiny so wait times could be long.“
“We visited this delightful gem last night. My husband and I asked our waiter, Nico, for his recommendations and we weren’t disappointed. We ordered the meatballs (absolutely delicious, they were soft and cooked to perfection), the Rosemary pizza (also delicious) only minor complaint, I would have preferred a slightly crispier crust), two small side salads (fresh and nicely dressed), and Tiramisu. Fun fact, I’m not a tiramisu fan at all… and was planning to order something else. But, Nico gently persuaded us to order the Tiramisu … and it was really good… creamy, moist, and not too sweet. We’ll definitely return for another visit.“
“Right in Little Italy. There's a little Italian supermarket storefront where you can buy little Italian candies treats pastas and more. I went to check it out and there was a line back home. After asking, it was the line to the restaurant. I took a peek and it felt like I was in an authentic Italian restaurant. it smells amazing in there. The worker was helpful and offered me a menu to place a to go order if I chose to.“
“It’s convenient and very, very close to the Civic Center. The food is yummy. I’ve had pastas,, Panini’s, salads, soups, and desserts. Everything is fresh and homemade. i’ve never had something I didn’t like .Nancy, the owner, works extremely hard, and is a sweet lady.I highly recommend dining there for a quick, yummy reasonably priced dinner.“
“We had the privilege of being served by Jordan and he was fabulous. Jordan recommended the Chicken Valdestano and it was perfect. My wife had the Mediterranean salad with a Super Tuscan wine. We finished with the lava cake and it was superb. This is a great Italian restaurant in IB that you don't want to miss!!“
