“My less than perfect rating for the food is that the potatoes today was a bit disappointed. Both hash brown and home fries were a bit overcooked. Great atmosphere though.

“I came with my spouse to celebrate our wedding anniversary. The food was delicious, meat was cooked to perfection, chicken Parmesan was saucy. We ordered an affogato, it was delicious but I wish they had served the gelato ice cream and espresso shot separately. This would have given me the option to control how rapidly the ice cream melted. By the time it reached the table it had more of liquid texture, there was no need for the spoons as we were sipping the affogato. A thick straw would have been a more appropriate utensil choice. We also had a pistachio Crème Brûlée, it was delicious although topping the whole top with whipped cream was a bit of overkill. I feel like a small dab while still showing the caramelized sugar would have been better presentation. The cream on top looked like it could have been a scoop of gelato but with a disappointing taste of whipped cream.“

“I had been meaning to try this place, especially because it's located conveniently across from the San Rafael transit center, all you have to do is get off the train or bus, walk for about a minute and there you are.

The buffet is small but adequate. 2 entrees today, goat and chicken. I sampled a small piece of the goat expecting it to be gamey, but it was surprisingly mild, which I prefer.

Each table is stocked with a bottle of water at room temperature ( my preference) and the restaurant is clean, so was the restroom.
I was given 2 coupons to use for my next visit, doesn't apply to the buffet.

“Incredible, authentic food. What a delight to discover this place. The chef & family who run it are actually sherpas! The butter chicken curry had so many different flavors, I don’t even know how to describe it, except delicious. Grilled meats and veggies also incredible. Naan prepared to perfection. And the Himalayan hot ginger tea hit the spot!

There’s a reason this restaurant currently has a 4.9 out of 5.0 (Dec 2024). Enjoy!

Very simple basic menu, but everything was perfect. Flavorful, fresh, generously sized, good service. Everything was right. We are talking San Francisco - San Jose level of excellence for Vietnamese food. I used to think you had to go to the City to find great Vietnamese food, But now we have it local here in San Rafael. The other Vietnamese restaurants around town can't even compare. This restaurant is now on my short list. Coming back. Five star.“

“This is our “go to” place in Sausalito for my wife and I so we decided to take our visitors from Canada here. Everything was going well until my order, the bone in veal chop special, arrived more than 5 minutes later than everyone else's main course. The issue is that when my order arrived, there was a barely an apology or any offers to adjust our bill. Sad.“

Fōtis (Frank) and Evangelina (Eva) were amazing and the food cooked by them was a piece of Greek heaven. I got the gyro with a side of Greek salad. “Highly, highly recommend this place (of all the banh mi places in SF and Marin). This place is a gem in the North Bay. I've been to both locations, but live closer to the San Rafael deli. As a Vietnamese who grew up eating banh mi (not "bahn" - please stop misspelling this word!, although I understand "bahn" has been spelled like this to make it phonetically easier to pronounce), I vouch for this place. It is wholeheartedly the best banh mi place in the Bay area. Growing up, I lived in a close-knit Vietnamese-American community, and my mother and another lady in our village sold banh mi, so I have a discerning taste for banh mi. This place is totally legit and super authentic. The french bread is just the right texture (light and flaky, but not dense inside). The actual bread in a Vietnamese banh mi is not the same as a french baguette that is more often dense and chewy (and thanks to French colonizers, they left the Vietnamese with french bread and amazing architecture). I know many places in the Bay area that serve more dense baguettes for banh mi, which isn't authentic. The filling is perfect and the right amount with no special brown sauce or gravy. Vietnamese banh mi filling is not sweet, but has a slight tang and citrusy flavor from the pickled carrots and daikon.This is the perfect example of Vietnamese banh mi. I don't normally write reviews, but I want to spread the word that this place serves very good banh mi. Another added value is the price of a banh mi that is 30% less than the price of other places that are now charging $10-13 per baguette. The owners are super sweet, too. If you happen to find yourself in the North Bay and craving a banh mi, or want to find an authentic example, this place is a must!
