“Listen, I am picky when it comes to Mexican food. My grandma‘s set the bar high. And there are two specific dishes that I always order at a new restaurant, and that is Caldo de Res and Chile Rellenos…these are basic dishes but I’m beyond snobby when it comes to them. If they mess these up then I will never go back. Lupita’s Homestyle Cocina exceeded my expectations. The chile relleno was full of flavor and cooked to perfection. Lupitas only cooks caldo de res on Thursdays and it just so happened to be a Thursday when I ordered. The Caldo de Res tasted like home. I know she used the beef bones to make the broth because you can taste the oils. It was cooked to perfection with big chopped vegetables and nice sized chunks of beef. We also ordered the pick 3 and got Chile relleno, chicken enchilada, and a chicken chimichanga. It came with a nice sized helping of beans and rice. I got a monster burrito with beef and it was no joke! HUGE burrito and it had everything I wanted in a burrito (beef, whole beans, rice, cheese, guacamole, and pico de gallo. The sour cream was on the side and it was served with your choice of red or green sauce over it. Bomb. I got a flan for desert and oh my goodness. I seriously didn’t expect much because the food was good enough. But dang, that flan was spectacular. The perfect consistency and the Carmel top of the flan was so creamy and smooth. It didn’t have that burnt taste that a lot of flans have. All in all, I was impressed by every dish. I would say that the refried beans were a bit salty, but the Mexican rice more than made up for that. I took time to write this because it deserves praise and hopefully gains more business as its location is tucked away behind the KFC on Oakdale road.“

The tacos were top tier, delicious in every way conceivable, I'd give them a 9/10.
The torta was good, the meat was delicious and was the star of the show. The bread left something to be desired. Overall an average torta.

“Solid spot! After working all night and wanting a breakfast burrito while working out of town and staying in Turlock. I found this spot. Ordered a Machaca burrito and an Al Pastor tacosl. Burrito was big and very tasty. The $5 Al Pastor tacos was delicious and the meat was browned up perfectly on the flat top. I wouldn't hesitate to come back just for the tacos next time. The salsa's I tried were ok and a little different than most other taco spots. The chunky hot salsa was the best of the three I tried.“

“I'm literally obsessed with this place. I found out about it on Tiktok. I'm from Turlock so anytime I'm in Modesto I make sure to go. I always get their chicken family pack and it comes with beans, rice, macaroni salad, and lots of corn tortillas. I also get their pork ribs with bbq and omg it's the best! They grill their meat outside so when you pull into the parking lot you could see and smell it. I always take it to go, and they're very fast with your orders and friendly customer service. “I really don't want to write this review because i know what will happen so here is my story...I passed this taco truck on my way to pick up vax for my cattle at Lander's Veterinary Clinic a week ago. I was curious about the taco truck and asked the folx working at the vet clinic if they recommended the truck's food. They raved about it. Since I had cash I made the decision to stop on my way back home to buy some tacos and put them to the test...I'm kinda of a food snob.Here is what I ordered: (2) carne asada tacos, (2) al pastor, (1) lengua taco, and a (1) tripas taco to try out. I doubted they could do better than the taco places I grew up by in L.A..OMG! Shut the Front Door!!The tacos were so good that on my way back home to Oakdale, I ate most of the tacos. My husband is lucky he had two tacos leftover for his dinner. These were even better than any tacos I've had in SoCal!!It gets busy during lunch time so take a longer lunchbreak or get there early. I'm heading back soon and taking my boss and a few colleagues with me.Cash only business. Covered benches, no bathrooms, bring your baby wipes if you eat there.“
