“Stefan at UCSD Catering was extremely helpful when my fiancée and I began planning our wedding at the Martin Johnson House on the Scripps Campus.Of the approved caterers, Stefan was one of few to immediately have a detailed conversation with me about the ins and outs of the venue, what potential options and setups could be, and how to compare pricing/offerings from different caterers.When we built a menu and proposal, communication was prompt and efficient. We were able to try different set up options, mix and match from the existing menu and modify plates to fit with what we were going for.Pricing on the menu was labeled per person, so it was super easy and transparent to see what the costs would be if we added or removed items. The proposal was also very clear on food cost, vs. staff cost, vs other fees.Compared to other vendors, UCSD's proposal looked like the best quality to price combo.Ultimately, we did not go with UCSD catering only because we were on a tight timeline and felt more comfortable going with an all-in-one catering solution.However, if you have the time (or a coordinator) I'd recommend the combo of UCSD Catering, Bella Beverage Catering, and Cedar and Pine Rentals.“

“Sean and his team are truly amazing! We hired them for our rehearsal dinner which took place at my grandparents house. They were able to pull up right in the driveway and guests meandered between the backyard and driveway to grab slices as they wished. I am personally vegetarian and my favorite was the pesto vegetarian pizza. It was so light and delicious! Everyone had great things to say about the honey jalepeno, and even the gluten free guests had great reviews. It felt like Sean was the host of the party, you can tell he truly loves his job and loves talking to people. They set up and cleaned up so quickly I hardly even knew where they arrived/left, it was like magic whisked them away. They made so much pizza most of us took some home afterwards. Highly reccomend!!!“

“If you don't know what wood fired pizza is you'd think it's burnt. It's not Dominos pizza it's artisan pizza cooked in high temperature oven with that perfect char. We met them at the Holiday Market at Petco Park and they were a well oiled machine. The entire staff looked super happy and their customer service was top notch! Can't wait to try again! On our big day, we had so many compliments on the food! Both the Creole Style Short Rib with Chive and Bay and the Chicken and Smoked Andouille Jambalaya were the biggest hits! Our loved ones were coming up to us just to tell us how great the food was! The short rib was super tender and had the perfect amount of flavor while the jambalaya was perfectly cooked with just the right hint of spice.

While we knew the food was delicious since we tasted it beforehand, what surprised us even more was how much our guests raved about it. We even had guests come up to us asking about how they ensure future weddings have the same food!
