Parking: This is a popular shopping center for food...that’s all that’s in the shopping center, is food. Parking can be very difficult at in demand times (noon hour, happy hour, weekends).

Wheelchair accessibility: Tables are crowded. It’s hard to get around. You can’t really sit at the bar if it in a wheelchair, but they will make everything work for you. They’re super nice people.“

“We came here for the first time 2 years ago, and now we’re hooked! The locals are super friendly, and the food is inexpensive and good!“

“You couldn't ask for a more perfect brewery) restaurant to be located across the street from your job. Except if you're making a point to NOT drink beer, they don't make it easy. With excellent service they bring out small glasses so patrons can try a beer before ordering a large one.

The food is delicious too, nothing too fancy. Don't recall ever waiting long for the food to arrive, and it was sizzling hot. A definite hit spot, worth your time and money especially if you like their beers.

There's mostly indoor seating with a few tables out front. Free refills on Ice Tea. I don't work across from there now but at the time this was a go-to spot for a number of my coworkers, and one of my favorites on that side of downtown.

Parking: ? The CFO was the last one to arrive to our accounting staff lunch/meeting. He pulls up to on his fancy motorcycle and parked right out front by our outside table. I think he either didn't have it parked correctly or the meter ran out and a bit later we're done and just enjoying small talk and being out of the office, a meter maid cop pulls up and puts a ticket on his bike. Like he just could have taken two steps to add money to the meter. I found it hilarious. He was enjoying his beer too much, perhaps.

So lesson to note, when visiting Karl Strauss, keep an eye out so your meter doesn't expire!“

“This is a great place to have a beer, some delicious snacks (in pretzel form) and just hang out on a great San Diego day. Great select of beer and an array of different styles of pretzels. The dog friendly patio is terrific for hanging with your dogs and its kid friendly too. Some games inside like pinball and games on tv. Our nephews love the pretzels and games and even ask to go there to hang out. Super friendly staff is helpful with beer selection and love the dogs. Parking is a bit difficult at times bc it’s only street parking, but there is a lot about a block away. Def a place to hang out and enjoy the sunshine.“

“This place is exactly what you'd hope to find in the Gas Lamp Quarter. It's obvious that it has been a staple in this community for a VERY long time by the decor, clientele, and servers there.

You know when you've found a place like this because you're greeted with a smile, welcoming demeanor, and some strong pours for a reasonable price.

I went in for the first time in a few years. I was happy to stumble back on this place after originally finding it in 2018 on another business trip.

Tonight was specifically unique because The Zach Gutierrez Trio was playing live. Can't say enough good stuff about the music!

If you're looking for a place where you'll be welcomed with friendly and attentive staff, a laid back vibe, and occasional live music, you have to check this place out!

“Fun and funky. Live music 6 nights a week. Mostly outdoor venue with picnic tables for seating. Dog friendly. Order inside and then they deliver it to you. Great prices but we didn't love all the food. They do offer a pup bowl with rice and meat for $6. And brought our dog water. He was treated like a king. Nice folks running it.“

“The review is based solely on the to-go order of doner fries.

I'm gonna be honest: The doner fries were hyped up online and the pictures looked amazing, so I wanted to try it. But I wasn't expecting much. In turn, it far exceeded expectations.

I ordered with beef and lamb with toppings on the side to avoid extra soggy fries (because, let's be real, to-go fries get soggy no matter what). There were a ton of toppings to go with the fries, which came topped with the meat and some sort of sauce that tasted like salsa. I didn't realize anything at all would come on top of the fries, so I was surprised. But it didn't ruin the fries. In fact, I think it gave extra flavor.

I'd order this again in a heartbeat.

P.S. There was no description of what came on the dish, but I should've paid more attention to the list of toppings when ordering online. I thought there would be tzatziki sauce or some other white sauce. There wasn't. Just an FYI in case anyone else thinks the same. (Not sure why I thought this other than I used to order doner kebabs all the time when I lived in Germany as a kid and there was a white sauce on it.)“

“My husband and I are from Phoenix and we were in San Diego over the 4th of July. We were staying at the US Grant hotel and we wanted to find a local sports bar. Someone at the hotel suggested this bar and I'm glad they did! It was just what we were looking for. Great service, great food and great atmosphere. All the bar tenders were friendly! We were there 3 days of the 5 days we were in San Diego. The next time we are in San Diego we definitely will be back!“
