“We stopped at this restaurant in Bakersfield on our way to Death Valley, and honestly, the exterior and overall floor setup might seem a bit deceiving at first — but don’t let that fool you. The food is absolutely delicious!
We ordered Malai Kofta, Sarson Da Saag, Paneer Butter Masala, along with Amritsari Kulcha with Chhole, Garlic Naan, Makke Di Roti, and Tandoor Roti — and everything was outstanding. The real standout was the Amritsari Kulcha with Chhole — just superb. Fresh, authentic, and packed with flavor. The breads were perfectly made — soft, flavorful, and served hot.
The owner and staff are incredibly welcoming and kind. You can truly see the pride they take in their service and freshly made, authentic recipes. Everyone in our group, including the kids, loved the food.
We will definitely be coming back again!“

“I came here on the recommendation of one of the workers at Hard Rock. I told him I liked spicy sushi and this place nailed it.

I hand the Ex-girlfriend and asked him to make it extra spicy. It was spot on, the perfect amount of heat to punch you in the mouth without drounding out the flavor. It's honestly a delicate balancing act.

The service was outstanding, my server helped me pick out another roll. Not as spicy but a perfect compliment to the ex friend.

“There are some really good things to share with you and unfortunately, quite a bit of bad. Starting with an awkward arrival process, service went downhill fast and stayed there - earning a 10% tip. Upon arrival, the hostess seemed flustered and instead of leading us to our table, she pointed where to go and said she would be there to bring "um, uh, umm" and I completed the sentence with - MENUS. "Yes, menus". They were brought promptly. Putting a drink order in......well, that wasn't so prompt. We both ordered iced tea, one regular and one raspberry. They were served to us reversed. Both of us got a surprise drink before swapping glasses. From time of order to food delivery was good and eggs were nice, hot and freshly cooked. Once the food was dropped off, we would never see our server again. There would be no checking to see if we needed anything or ask how the food tasted so far. We had to flag down another server for refills and to ask for butter. A third person handled the transaction with her iPad. She was walking by and noticed us sitting there with empty plates and glasses. Very disappointing service - start to finish. The Food: The chili verde omelette was fantastic and better than some of our other breakfast faves. The fruit was also very fresh. The chicken fried steak premade and fried - not dredged and breaded on premise. The hash browns are not made with fresh potatoes grated on premise like most top breakfast spots. These potatoes are rehydrated and fried. In an oddity, I chose a biscuit as my bread choice and that usually includes gravy. This was served as - just a biscuit. No jelly, no butter, no gravy. The food was good enough that we'll return and try again.“

“We were craving authentic Chinese food last night and came across Ching Yen. You can tell the owner, Sue, takes great pride in her food, and it really shows. We started with the Sizzle Rice soup and Hot and Sour soup. Both soups were rich and delicious with fresh ingredients. We ordered the small bowls and each was big enough for two people to share one and have extra. We decided to try the Combination Appetizer platter which came with two of each appetizer and two dipping sauces. The Sizzling Beef Iron plate and Chicken Fried Rice had quality fresh ingredients. You could tell the pride that went into each dish. Sue was a delight and expressed how much she enjoyed her customers. She made it feel like you’re visiting family for a home cooked meal. I’m a soup fanatic too, so I can’t wait to try some of the other soups on the menu. We’ll be back soon!“

“I went for take out. I had a $100 gift card a client gave me. I ordered the FAMILY STYLE Chicken Picatta. It said it feeds (4). I got garlic mashed potatoes and a green side salad. It came w/(2) squaw bread loaves and butter. While it states Feeds (4), I SAY it’ll feed (8) EASILY!! Just add a bag of salad to the portion they gave you and you have a full meal for under $100 that feeds (8)!! The portions are so big and I had a ton of leftovers because I only fed (3). We ate on it all week!! Good choice and soooo delicious!“

“Rosemary’s Family Creamery never disappoints — it’s always a good time here! On our recent visit, we enjoyed their Cousin Julie's Hot Fudge sundaes , 5 differnt ways and it was absolutely heavenly. Each sundae came with a different combination of rich, flavorful ice creams, all topped with freshly baked brownies that were warm, fudgy, and perfectly portioned. The pistachio ice cream was a standout — creamy, nutty, and full of authentic flavor, not that artificial taste you sometimes get elsewhere. We also had an old-fashioned root beer float, smooth, fizzy, and refreshing.
What made our experience even better was the outstanding service from Arianna, who managed to prepare and deliver six custom orders with absolute precision. Each order came out exactly as requested —Her attention to detail and great attitude made our visit. It’s rare to find service this consistent and quality this high in both product and care.

Visiting Bakersfield, I decided to enjoy a steak dinner with lobster. I rarely eat shellfish but this entire meal was past a 10 and off the charts with deliciousness! ??? Major yummmmm!! I also enjoyed the brownie dessert that was topped with ice cream and scooped whipped cream. Oh my goodness gracious delectable. I also decided to order a slice of carrot cake to go and enjoy for the next 2 days. I was pleasantly surprised by the dessert being sent home with me as compliments from the management. The carrot cake slice was huge and sweet and delicious and I ate off of it for the 2 days of my visit. I know this is long but y'all must try the Stockdale location of Outback in Bakersfield, CA.
