“From California to Texas to Boston and Omaha, Denver and KC in between, I've never had finer, tastier Mexican cuisine. The meatball soup and chile con queso were seriously and subtly divine. The main course bacon wrapped carne asada tampiquena blew my mind. Small town, comfortable ambiance with a warm fireplace and a free dessert smore, plus a friendly waitstaff and management have us wanting to come back for more. Can't believe I'm saying this but we're headed right back for breakfast tomorrow morn. For this place is truly like Mexican food porn.“

“My wife and I were in the area for the Leona Divide trail run - and ate at Jack's Place twice for dinner. Badge burger and fries/onion rings with IPAs on one night (after the race) and Pesto pasta and Greek salad with Zinfandel wine on the 2nd night. Both meals were excellent - service was perfect - fun to sit and chat with some locals. Highly recommend if you are in the area!“

“I am a biracial female and I can say that this is one of my favorite restaurants ever . Very good authentic Mexican food . Nothing comes close to them in the AV or even in Mexico lol . Their burritos are huge, meaty and flavorful . The El Pastor hard shell tacos is the best I've ever had . The flautas are amazing. They are not dry chicken like other restaurants . The chicken is juicy and the toppings are good. They are a very nice size as well. I just think that they can improve on the taste of their chips and salsa . I love the vibes inside the restaurant. Everyone is so nice and works really hard to make sure that your order is perfect. This is a real deal very good Mexican Restaurant. You can't go wrong with them! Such a gem in the AV ! “The food is delicious! I was very surprised by the quality. It was my first time here and it seems they branched off into two restaurants- Cowboy Tavern just down the street. I expected burgers as shown in Google but turns out burgers are at the Tavern. This place is for the most part Mexican. I don't call it a full on Mexican restaurant because they do serve chicken wings but let me tell you, they were the best wings I've had in quite some time! My wife and son were amazed that those wings came from a Mexican restaurant. I had chilaquiles which were very crispy and light. Not drowned in sauce. The beans and rice tasted perfect. To Owners: It was a pleasure to dine at your restaurant. Please keep your cooks cooking consistently like they did last Sunday. I look forward to returning very soon even though you're quite far from my home.“

“First time going since it was Casita Lopez. Decorations and ambience are the same. I was hoping to meet the new owner, but he wasn't on shift today. The service was fast and polite, exactly what I would've expected in previous visits! The food is satisfyingly tasty, albeit not very authentic. The menu is essentially the same as before, but everything is prepared differently: ingredients, portions, etc. 5 stars, definitely recommend!“

We've been eating at El Toreo West for decades now. This was THE place to eat Mexican food in the AV for years. I remember when 10th St. West was the edge of town and we would have done here with my Aunt and Uncle. Can't wait to eat here again soon!“

“I got the Maui pineapple chicken dinner. I was not impressed with the chicken as it seemed to be over marinated. The chicken breast was almost mushy on the outside but normal on the inside. Sometimes the acid in the marinade will do this to meatsWe got the 4 cheese spinach dip for appetizer and that was delicious! And also the avocado toast which was delicious. My sister had the jambalaya and enjoyed that.We'll definitely be back again, but I'll try a different dish.“

“My experience has been, if you want authentic deliciousness, you look for an unassuming hole-in-the-wall restaurant, and Spicy Thai is no exception. They have the best Thai food in the AV, hands down. If you haven’t been to Spicy Thai, you need to give it a try!My favorites: angel wings appetizer, duck curry, tom kha (Thai hot and sour) soup. But really, everything’s great here.“

Ordered corn beef hash and eggs, the hash was not good, tasted like canned hash, no texture, no potatoes or onions, why I rated the food a four. “A great winery where you'd never expect it. The sampling room has a bunch of nice wine related items and food. There are a few rooms you can drink wine in and picnic benches in the back where you can see the vineyards. We had a sampler tray with several wines for $20. Among them were a great chardonnay, rosé and Cabernet. This is a pretty fun place with great wines. Ample parking.“
