“Cozy place in the desert with wonderful staff and THE BEST Mexican food! It's a staple for the locals and I was happy to be able to join them.Chicken tamale was fantastic and the chile relleno was perfect, and we had a great time visiting with the staff and other patrons.I hope to go back while I'm here! The price per person was with several beers and a drink, all of which were tasty and ice cold!Kid-friendliness: Great kid's menu“
“We had a late lunch here, sopes for my wife and arroz con pollo for me, and they were outstanding! Muy sabroso! The service was also great. Then, there was the dessert, which we shared: the chimichanga de mazana encanelada, a cinnamon apple chimi with a side of fried ice cream - oh my goodness! Highly recommend this small, family run place.“

“Wow I have eaten authentic Mexican food in Rosarito Beach at very high end restaurants there. So I found this restaurant as good if not better quality than any other restaurant in Mexico. It was very welcoming very attentive people and servers Food was EXCELLENT delicious chicken rice and beans on special for $17.95 large portion too. If your on the 14 highway stop in and have some of the best food north of the border I promise you won't be disappointed“

“You did it again!!!! My husband and I went last night on taco Tuesday and of course, I had to have the chicken, pork and asada street tacos and hubby had the brilla tacos with the dipping sause. I must, say everything was exceptional! They even give you this bean dip when you first arrive with salsa that was so fire!!!!! Shout out to Bernie. He is truly a wonderful guy and very friendly.“

“My family and I had dinner here last night. I had the Chile relleno plate with rice and beans and it was excellent! The rice was flavorful and cooked perfect. The chips and salsa had a nice kick. Couldn't beat the prices either. Looking forward to going back again!“

“We visited for dinner on Wednesday with a party of four and it was a very good experience. This place looks pretty rough from the outside, and a bit ratty on the inside, but it is well worth your time. We were greeted and told to seat ourselves, which we did in a nice booth. The very gracious waiter (possibly an owner) stopped by, took our drink orders, and was nice enough to provide separate checks. The draft beers are served in large glass goblets, ice cold. The chips were warm and obviously home made. We went with a Combo Plate, a Burrito, Tacos, and Camerones al la Diabla, which had a nice spicy kick. All the portions were large and the meals were fresh and well prepared. The service was outstanding. The waiter was friendly, prompt, and professional. Overall, an outstanding hidden gem in Palmdale to get great Mexican fare.“

“This is an honest review. Coming from a Mexican background, tamales were always a staple in our home. With that being said, I tried for lulus tamales for the first time today. I bought the mole and green chicken tamales. They were both pretty flavorful and very hefty tamales as well but the only thing I'd say is that the chicken was a little tough or dry . Aside from that, they were pretty good“

“Quesabirria tacos were very good, but I probably should have eaten them there - by the time I got them back to Antelope Acres they'd gotten a little soggy but that is totally not the restaurant's fault. I enjoyed the rice and beans they came with as well. Prices are steep compared to what I'm used to paying for similar food in other areas but probably normal for the inflated prices of the AV. If I do takeout again I'll try the birria ramen as I've enjoyed that at other places.“

“Took my mom here for her birthday. Raul took care of us. He was attentive, helpful, and made sure we always had fresh chips, salsa, and water. My mom thoroughly enjoyed the food, service, and birthday song. We left with more than enough food for leftovers. Great service from Raul and reasonable prices“

“I am a biracial female and I can say that this is one of my favorite restaurants ever . Very good authentic Mexican food . Nothing comes close to them in the AV or even in Mexico lol . Their burritos are huge, meaty and flavorful . The El Pastor hard shell tacos is the best I've ever had . The flautas are amazing. They are not dry chicken like other restaurants . The chicken is juicy and the toppings are good. They are a very nice size as well. I just think that they can improve on the taste of their chips and salsa . I love the vibes inside the restaurant. Everyone is so nice and works really hard to make sure that your order is perfect. This is a real deal very good Mexican Restaurant. You can't go wrong with them! Such a gem in the AV ! I am now a repeat customer and I eat here at least once a week“

“I grew up in Agua Dulce, I’ve been eating here for 40 years. Had like my first 10 birthdays in this place. They’ve catered multiple friends weddings. Maybe it’s a little bit of nostalgia, but I swear it’s the best Mexican food and margaritas I’ve had anywhere. The chips and salsa is top notch. Far and away the best carnitas on the planet. Small town restaurant and bar vibe, just the way I like it. I never come home without stopping back in. If you find yourself in Agua Dulce in need of a meal or drink, this is really the only place worth considering.Kid-friendliness: Always been a family friendly place“

“The food is delicious! I was very surprised by the quality. It was my first time here and it seems they branched off into two restaurants- Cowboy Tavern just down the street. I expected burgers as shown in Google but turns out burgers are at the Tavern. This place is for the most part Mexican. I don't call it a full on Mexican restaurant because they do serve chicken wings but let me tell you, they were the best wings I've had in quite some time! My wife and son were amazed that those wings came from a Mexican restaurant. I had chilaquiles which were very crispy and light. Not drowned in sauce. The beans and rice tasted perfect. To Owners: It was a pleasure to dine at your restaurant. Please keep your cooks cooking consistently like they did last Sunday. I look forward to returning very soon even though you're quite far from my home.“

“I have never been there, but ordered takeout. The restaurant was 7 miles away from where I live; a new girl took my order not knowing the distance. however, they were friendly with me. The pizza was probably one of the best I ever tasted was everything was really good if I were in Palmdale I would probably have to go there.“

“I had the pozole and the carnitas tacos. The pozole was delicious they gave me big chunks of meat and enough hominy in 32 ounce Styrofoam cups. I would get them again, I think the carnitas needed some more fat. And they didn't give me any sauce so make sure to ask.“

“Absolutely love this place. I come here with my grandmother on nights when my dad has no time to feed me. The food is amazing. I always order the same thing, and I'll never get bored of it! We sometimes eat in, but mostly we get takeout and it never disappoints for either option.Food is amazing, the workers are absolute sweethearts, and the restaurant is so nicely decorated. It's a cute little restaurant that is perfect for late night dinners after a long day. Incredibly underrated. I love this place.“

“Sergio was our bartender and he made a great Cadillac Margarita. I ordered the shredded chicken taco and my wife ordered a bean and cheese burrito. Both were fabulous! We love El Toreo. We've been eating at El Toreo West for decades now. This was THE place to eat Mexican food in the AV for years. I remember when 10th St. West was the edge of town and we would have done here with my Aunt and Uncle. Can't wait to eat here again soon!“

“Stopped by on a trip out to Mojave and picked something quick with convenience on and off the freeway and so glad we ended up here! The food was very solid, I get the same thing at every mexican food restaurant (chicken burrito with only beans, rice, and cheese) and the standout element of my usual chicken burrito at this particular establishment was the chicken. Great structure, well seasoned, perfectly cooked, and properly proportioned/distributed throughout the burrito. What really put tacos el superior over the top, however, was the excellent demeanor and customer service provided by Luis who took our order with the biggest smile on his face and made sure we had everything we needed to enjoy the meal. One other stand-out item at this establishment was the green sauce. Also they have delicious french fries which are great to dip in the birria compote. Highly recommend stopping by tacos el superior“

“Indoor dining is great. Medrano’s still hasn’t learned how to pack a go order. The soup lids are so flimsy that if you put more than one on top of the other one, the lid breaks and spills soup. Then, if the chips are packed in the soup bag, the bottom of the chip bag gets wet. When you try to get the chips out, the bottom of the bag rips and chips go all over the floor. This isn’t the first time this has happened. This will be the last time. The other place I eat wraps plastic around the whole soup container, so if the lid does break, the soup still stays in the holder.“

“Los Compadres is a warm and family atmosphere. We stopped by on a Sunday afternoon to try their street tacos where we were met by our server and host Jessie. Jessie was a wealth of information on options to try and even offered virgin none alcoholic beverages which was very refreshing to hear. As this establishment has a new owner (George) and still under remodeling and renovations or does not take way from the food presentation and flavor. We were also greeted by George who appreciate us for coming in. We are looking forward to coming back!“

“the food there is great and they make it fresh too. most other places will already have the carne asada already cooked and then just reheat it on the stove top but When i saw how they were cooking mine it came raw and they cooked it fresh as I ordered. you can tell they care about the quality of their meats. the lady working there was incredible nice we struck up a conversation I like it when they do that instead of just taking my order handing it to me and saying "thank you, have a nice". it makes the experience better.“

“From California to Texas to Boston and Omaha, Denver and KC in between, I've never had finer, tastier Mexican cuisine. The meatball soup and chile con queso were seriously and subtly divine. The main course bacon wrapped carne asada tampiquena blew my mind. Small town, comfortable ambiance with a warm fireplace and a free dessert smore, plus a friendly waitstaff and management have us wanting to come back for more. Can't believe I'm saying this but we're headed right back for breakfast tomorrow morn. For this place is truly like Mexican food porn.“
