Restaurantji presents Santa Clarita's standout Mexican dining destinations.
“First time trying La Cocina Bar & Grill. I liked the decor and obeisance. The service is impeccable. The prices are fair. We had dinner on Saturday and it crazy busy. We were quoted 35 minutes waiting time for seating. It turns out to be less than 20 minutes. Service was quick. The food came out hot from the kitchen. I thought my burrito was ok but the meat wasn't as tender as i would have liked it. We thought the margaritas were tasty but seems to be weak with alcohol. We had a great time and we definitely will return for another meal.“
“The carne asada (beef)street tacos were really good! My husband enjoyed breakfast fare, houveros rancheros, and was quite happy. The wall menu is a bit busy, maybe difficult to follow, but look closely (especially at the separate list of taco meats)) and you will most likely find something that makes you happy.Parking: Parking on main street or in the parking structure across the street.“
“I visited this location for the first time and was greeted with friendly service from Logan, one of the team members. The carnitas taco was so good, and the grilled chicken taco was awesome. (Worth every dollar!) Ambience felt nice. Would recommend this place to others. Will definitely be back the next time we pass by. -Oliver J. ;-)“
“I was visiting Santa Clarita for 3 days. Ended coming here for two dinners and one breakfast. Food is fresh, delicious, and authentic. The service is outstanding. Great family owned restaurant. Prices are very fair for what you get. If I’m ever back in Santa Clarita this is the only place I’ll be going to eat.“
“Great food, great service. And nice atmidphere. Even though we were in a corner booth, the waiter made sure our glasses were full and checked on us often. Food is always good here. Love the salsa! Jase always waves from the bar. It feels like the staff actually cate that you're there.Parking: Excellent!“
“This is our go-to Mexican restaurant since it opened. I really love the fish tacos and several of their specialty dishes. Quite honestly, the tacos are just great with their rice and beans. Ask for their hot salsa if you are up to it!Parking: Sometimes parking can be difficult, most times you can find a space.“
“They have wonderful tacos for Taco Tuesday. They're huge and very inexpensive. They also have a great happy hour. The house margarita is spot on. We had the Cadillac margarita the first time but switched to the regular the second visit. It was flavorful, not too sweet and larger than the Cadillac which was $2 more. The staff is very attentive and the place is very clean. I highly recommend it.“
“Simply the best Mexican food in town. No more to say other than go try their hand made tacos, phenomenal Pozole and Menudo hits like grandma made it. Must try!!Also their service is great always have my food hot when I arrive for take out. Service for dine in is like you are a guest at their home very nice and welcoming.“
“I love this place. I go here all the time. Their food is the best Mexican food I can find in Santa Clarita. Your soups are amazing. They're molcajete is beyond as well as their shredded beef tacos. I tried chicken quesadilla with grilled chicken. It was amazing as well. Love their salsa.“
“Yum! Pulled this spot up with a search in the scv and decided to give it a go! I had the taco lunch plate with a carna asada, Al pastor, and premium chicken taco. The tacos are massive and full of meat and onions and cilantro, (salsa on the side) and they're huge!! I had the corn tacos (gluten free) and my sister and dad each had the flour tacos with the crispy shrimp and crispy fish. Large portions; the plates come with rice and beans, chips and salsa - the red is super spicy, the green is flavorful and mild. We also ordered a carne asada burrito and added zucchini and bell peppers- huge and delicious! I suggest ordering a large guacamole on the side too- everything was seasoned well and we will be back! The carne asada was my favorite taco- such tender meat and a great flavor combo with the lemon, salsa all together! My sister and dad said the shrimp tacos were their favorite- can't go wrong at this location! Great service- we called in and picked up 15 min later! So fresh and fantastic, they aren't open weekends- 10-2:30pm Monday- Friday Still soooo full“
“I grew up in Agua Dulce, I’ve been eating here for 40 years. Had like my first 10 birthdays in this place. They’ve catered multiple friends weddings. Maybe it’s a little bit of nostalgia, but I swear it’s the best Mexican food and margaritas I’ve had anywhere. The chips and salsa is top notch. Far and away the best carnitas on the planet. Small town restaurant and bar vibe, just the way I like it. I never come home without stopping back in. If you find yourself in Agua Dulce in need of a meal or drink, this is really the only place worth considering.Kid-friendliness: Always been a family friendly place“
“This is my favorite Mexican restaurant in Santa Clarita! The food is always so fresh and the staff is the best, always friendly and make you feel at home. I go here all the time, at least 1 or 2 a week after a hard climb at top out, down the street.Vegetarian options: The veggie burrito is the best! You don't even have to pay for your avocado since it comes with it... I always add grilled bell peppers and pico in the burrito. So good and I love it“
“Great LaCocina location, we have been coming here since they opened. Recently, we have repeatedly attempted to eat a mid-afternoon meal at this restaurant, but were unable to find any parking at all, so we left. What is even more frustrating is that each of the three times we planned to eat there, it was between 2 & 4 p.m., considered off-peak? The good news...the restaurant is doing well.Parking: It just depends, in the past couple of months, we could not find a space during the afternoon within a weekend time frame.“
“This was my first visit and the authenticity of the food was pleasantly surprising. I ordered the shrimp ceviche and bistec ranchero, both of which were delicious. I highly recommend this place if you are seeking quality dishes at an affordable price.“
“I came here at the beginning of the school year with members of my department and the food was so good! The salsa was also quite tasty. I got flautas and they actually had seasoned chicken inside. Sometimes, places don't season their fillings, which I find baffling. So glad that I've found this place. Not super fast service, but also not super slow.“
“First time here today! Located right in front of the car wash, convenient you can have your car washed while you eat! I had the birria tacos combo (crispy tacos) they were dipped in the consume and placed on the skillet. I skilled the cheese on them to go dairy free. And this meal was gluten free for anyone with dietary restrictions! The tacos came in 3, with rice and beans. Huge portion of juicy, tender meat! I went with the shredded beef option instead of the goat. Maybe I'll be more adventurous next time! A regular came in while I was waiting on my order and told me "everything on the menu is fantastic and she's there weekly" This place does have tables outside to sit or take it to go. My order was placed and ready within 10 minutes. The tacos were sensational, the consume was delightful with cilantro and onions. The red and green salsa add a nice kick of heat and I will definitely get one of their drinks next time. The horchata and the Jamaica looked yummy as well. The beans were great and the rice was done perfectly! Loved this spot and I can't wait to return and try more! You can call in orders to be placed, the girl working was so sweet and helpful when I ordered!“
“A must-try in Canyon Country if craving Mexican food. Tasty, high-quality and yummy! Always happy tummy. My fave is #5 & jugos de fruitas esp pineapple. Steak quesadilla is satisfying, nachos is loaded! My friends from the Valley are convinced that this is one of the best places to get Mexican food. Really good value for your money.“
“Gabby was the most accomodating and pleasant server! The place and bathrooms were clean; the mexican food was authentic and yummy ( Menudo soup, enchiladas, quesadillas, steak tacos, and dessert) and at a very affordable price. There was safe parking outside, too. Adrian and Ana , the owners, were very kind and accommodating. Five-star food and service!!!“
“If your looking for your traditional Mexican burrito, this is the place to stop at. Beans, rice, and meat. That's all a tradition LA Mexican burrito should have! Place looks clean and staff is friendly. They do take debit card. 5 stars!I haven't tried the other food here, my review is on their burritos.“
“I had never heard of this place until my sisters mentioned it to me, and wow it did not disappoint. I ordered the enchiladas and they where amazing. I will definitely be returning here again and again to eventually try everything on the menu.“
“So far I have only had the handmade tacos. Carne asada, chicken, and al pastor. The handmade masa tortillas were delectable and fresh. All three were smothered with fresh cilantro and white onion. Yum. Now why was I going to Taco Bell? Three tacos for less than $10 here. This place is the bomb.“
“Best AUTHENTIC Mexican in all of Los Angeles hands down!!!!!Dietary restrictions: I am plant based since 2016 and they have had so many options for me iver the years it is not even funny.Kid-friendliness: Kids LOVE it. My family’s foundation United Stares Basketball University has dinner night here after Friday game nights so 100’s of family have gone each year and have never heard anything but raving reviews from our USU families.“
“Dario's is one of those restaurants that is just consistently a great time!Delicious food prepared by people who know what they're doing, warm friendly service and a wonderful atmosphere. You are made to feel comfortable at Dario's you will be served wonderful hot delicious food and the folks at Dario's care enough about the customer to make sure the price is always right!Very comfortable booth and table seating as well as a fun bar area!If you come for a date or if you come with your family it's always a great time!Dietary restrictions: The good people at Dario's are happy to deliciously adjust their recipe to your individual dietary needs!“
“Pico Rico has the best carnitas tacos I've ever had. The customer service is always friendly towards me and they have amazing salsas! There isn't one I haven't enjoyed, but do wish they were a little spicer. I always order four tacos so I can have two for dinner and two for breakfast. The salsa Verde is the best for the carnitas. You can actually taste the orange in them!! So damn good! The chips are great as well. I definitely will have to branch out and try more things obviously, but I'll be sticking with the carnitas for now. Also, in the time it took me to get my five salsas, they were finished making my tacos. Awesome people and great service!“
“Really like this place! The amount of mimosa flavors alone won me over! I rarely eat all my brunch, I ordered the steak and eggs and everything was as I expected. I ate my boyfriend's home fries and he enjoyed his omelet with Turkey bacon (they stuffed that bad boy with lots of turkey bacon too). It was crowded but we were seated within 10 minutes, our waiter was very attentive. Definitely our new favorite local brunch spot.“
“I had a few minutes to kill in the morning when I dropped my car off for service at the auto repair shop next door. Since I adore Mexican food, I went to Yelp and found this little market/restaurant in the heart of Newhall. Walking in I was the only English speaker so I knew right away that was a good thing. Especially because the place was packed. Well, packed for just four tables but I guess that's what gave it a little bit of charm. I ordered my go-to which is a chorizo burrito and this version came with rice, beans, eggs, chorizo, onions, and cilantro, as well as green peppers which was a different but a nice touch. This burrito was so densely packed that I knew that there was a whole lot of yummy goodness inside. From bite one I let out that barely audible mmmmmm. These flavors worked. Coupled with the green verde salsa I was given, the level of spice to Tang was absolutely divine. I must say that these burritos had to have been better than any of the best Mexican places in Chicago. Rick, next time you're out here you're going to have to try this place. After many bites and many mmmmmm's I finished it with a big smile on my face. I've come to discover that hole in the wall places have some of the best food imaginable. Never be afraid to try something different that doesn't quite look like what you're used to. I'm so happy I stumbled upon this place. I will definitely return.“

Whether you're craving a quick bite or planning a family feast, this culinary gem promises to exceed your expectations at every turn. “I had chicken enchilada suiza with rice and refried beans and our guests had steak burritos with rice and refried beans. We all enjoyed our meals and the food was fresh and plentiful. Service was on point. Give it a try. Casa Vieja Grill won't disappoint.“
“With so many restaurants to choose from, we thought we might try El Taco Llama in Newhall. We were impressed by the artistry, the colorful chairs and tables. As for the food, I was really happy with my Chile Relleno. It tasted fresh and it was covered in a tasty sauce, peppers tomatoes and onions. It was not inundated with cheese inside or it, allowing for the pepper flavor to survive. Even the plates were vibrant. If I have one small issue, it was with the wimpy plastic forks and knives after such a lovely presentation of their food, it just seems wrong. I understand the economics of it, just not the aesthetics.“
“The staff were very polite and the food was delivered quite quickly. The food itself was surprisingly cheap compared to other restaurants and the quality of the food was just wonderful. I also really enjoyed the decorations and the music. All around it was a wonderful experience and I highly recommend checking this place out.“
“Food was really good. Pretty large menu selection. Service was amazing for a counter-service restaurant. There’s a complimentary chips and salsa bar. Not a whole lot of sitting room but adequate for what’s necessary. Would definitely recommend if you’re in the area and looking for Mexican food.“
