“Nestled in the serene coastal town of Elk, California, Greenwood stands as a beacon of culinary excellence, offering what can only be described as the best meal experience on the coast. Under the masterful guidance of Chef Ryan, Greenwood epitomizes a refreshing change from standard fare, infusing every dish with a bright, playful energy that is as delightful as it is innovative and still accessible to the area.Chef Ryan’s passion for the restaurant and its surroundings is palpable, evident in every meticulously crafted plate that emerges from his kitchen. Each dish, from the buns with nori butter to the succulent duck and short ribs, was a symphony of textures and tastes, from tender, crispy, crunchy combos - chefs kiss! Mae sure to save room for dessert! The grounds and ambiance are a testament to thoughtful design and intentionality, creating a welcoming atmosphere that invites guests to linger and savor every moment. We were particularly charmed by the garden, where we were graciously allowed to dine with our furry friend. We can’t wait to try staying in their newly renovated rooms in the near future. It's clear that Greenwood represents a new inflow of investment and talent into the area, and we couldn't be more thrilled. Having eaten all over the coast, we can confidently say that for all future special occasions, Greenwood will be our destination of choice.5/5“

“Delightful spot where you can enjoy lunch, coffee, and bakery treats. While the food and ambiance are excellent, there’s one aspect that finds less appealing: the mandatory 15% service fee for the employees.Despite this, the cafe offers a wide range of organic, whole foods, including fine French pastries and baked goods. If you’re looking for gluten-free options, they have those too!“

Rhody's Garden Café Cafe • $
18220 CA-1, Fort Bragg - 9.58 miles

“This food was so amazing and refreshing right after touring the mendocino botanical garden. It's located inside the beautiful garden by the entry/exit point. My fiancé and I really enjoyed this meal after exploring the garden. It really felt like a farm to fork moment. All the produce in the cafe is from the garden, which really enhanced our experience eating the meal. We enjoyed the iced raspberry tea, salad, soup, and veggie and Turkey sandwiches. The ice cream from cowlicks really topped it all off- raspberry chocolate chunk and candy cap mushroom. Everything was so delicious! The only critique I have is the lady working in the front seemed a bit rude. I could hear her talking loudly with attitude and snarky remarks to customers including my fiancé as he was ordering from my table.“

“I was heartbroken to learn that they don't sell bread anymore. It was SO FREAKING GOOD!!! But they still sell bagels and pastries and coffee drinks, and they're still top-notch folks. I suppose bread just wasn't a profitable part of their business. Too bad so sad because it was incredible! All you people that didn't buy don't know what you were missing and now you never will! Glad I got to try it when I did.Vegetarian options: Most of what they sell is vegetarian.Dietary restrictions: Baked goods are already baked, but some accommodations might be made.Parking: It's muddy, but there's plenty of space. Just use the drive-through.Kid-friendliness: Yes.Wheelchair accessibility: The parking lot is cratered, muddy, gravel.“

“I enjoyed every meal of our dinners at Ravens. The food is creative, delicious, and attractively presented. Most nights my daughter and I each got a small plate, followed by a large plate. One night we even indulged in dessert. The food is rich in vegetables and many other healthy ingredients, and is low oil and not fried. Our favorite small plate was the kale stack, and favorite large plate was the sea palm. As we roamed nearby parks, we were quite attuned to all the sea palms growing on rocks near shore. Ravens sources their sea palm locally, so we might have been looking at someone's future dinner. The portions are generous, and every night we took enough food back to our room for lunch the next day.“
