“Wonderful location, traditional service atmosphere (both fun and slightly stuffy), moderately tasty food at a not so moderate price. Well worth a visit, regardless.”

“Good: Entree was excellent. Waitstaff were cool.Food for thought: I provide this feedback reluctantly, understanding it's a first world gripe and that working in a restaurant or any service job, is thankless. Also it's general feedback for "fine dining" establishments as opposed to cafes and breweries where you might order essentially the same food for 1/3 to 1/2 the price and don't have the experience I'm going to complain about. And, I've really only noticed this since I moved up here permanently and started eating out at these kinds of restaurants more frequently. Waitstaff, chill out. I feel like I'm being watched like a hawk from the moment the entree arrives. I literally saw the waiter watching staring at me as I was getting close to finishing my entree and that was after he came by once to ask if I was done even when I was only about halfway through the entree. And this isn't a case of the restaurant being crowded. There's a not so fine line between being attentive and destroying a relaxing dining experience. I don't know if its boredom, i.e the wait staff literally doesn't have anything better to do, or standard operating procedure at these kinds of restaurants. But, ultimately it feels like I'm the meal ticket rather than the customer. There's no need to swoop in within 60 seconds of what appears to be the end of the course. It's gotten to the point where I've become self-conscious about not giving the impression I'm done. Let the customer's experience breathe a bit.”

“Hands down the best restaurant in Mendocino!!! The food is unreal delicious. Truly everything on the menu. Make sure to try the Mac n cheese and cauliflower biscuit sliders ? it’s owned by two best friends who truly love what they do. You can feel it in every touch. “Amazing. I've had a latte and an almond croissant everyday that I stayed next door. The almond croissant has lemon in it and it's amazing!! My husband also got a treat and it was very moist and yummy.”

“I am very picky when it comes with pizza. This place was fantastic. Tried carbonara pizza and it was really tasty. A tad too salty but the flavour and the thin crust were both amazing. It was so good that we picked up another one to go. The outside seating area was pretty.”

“gnar bar is such a gem in downtown mendocino! we were welcomed by the friendliest staff who even gave my dog a treat upon walking in.i did not expect to taste such delicious asian food! they have shelves filled with imported asian snacks, beverages and side dishes if you need a quick bite to-go. highly recommend trying their sticky chicken wings and udon garlic noodles. everything was cooked fresh right before our eyes.Vegetarian options: saw several people order the vegan ramen. the tofu garlic udon noodles were delicious and totally vegetarianDietary restrictions: dishes are made to order, so you can ask the chef to make accommodations. i also saw several vegan and vegetarian options on the menu.”

“We ate both lunch and supper here while staying in Mendocino. The cod fish and chips, clam chowder and Angus burger were all excellent. Only drink we had was an Irish mule that was very tasty.”

“We celebrated our Anniversary with a wonderful dinner. The outside ambience is so sweet and cozy. we enjoyed the guy from Humboldt that sang and played his guitar above us on the patio, he was awesome!!! Food and service was super duper. we will be back”

“We are so glad we were able to have Shani make our desserts for our wedding last June in Mendocino. She was able to make all the desserts vegan and they were absolutely delicious. We had strawberry shortcake, strawberry rhubarb pies, chocolate covered strawberries, biscottis, and fruit tarts. The design of everything was so beautiful, she has great attention to detail. Our guests loved everything, the desserts were gone quickly! Shani was such a pleasure to work with when figuring out what we wanted for the desserts. She provided different options in the dessert tasting and was so organized and professional. Thanks again for all your hard work to make such beautiful and delicious desserts! - Erica and Alex”

“Great Thai take out! They have yummy curry (yellow, red, or green), pad Thai and stir fry veggies. Add to your dish with tofu, shrimp, chicken or meat. They only do take out due to loosing their lease and not having a working restroom. Very friendly staff and good food. I hope they find a place to relocate - they want to keep their prices reasonable for locals, but rents make it unsustainable. Go - support them, and please tip generously.”

“We go to the Garden Bakery pretty much every time we’re in town. We’ve tried almost everything they make. Love the pastries. The burritos and egg bites are also delicious. Can’t really go wrong with anything you choose. Service is good and everyone is friendly. Very comfy feeling inside and outside. We highly recommend you give it a try.”

“Had lunch there, didn't stay.Food was delicious and the restaurant is beautifully decorated, it's like sitting in a garden which is roofed. Can only recommend it - not that cheap but very much worth it.”

“Today I had an iced zebra mocha, and it was next-level delicious. It’s easily the best coffee I’ve tasted in a long time! I strongly recommend Bay View Coffee Company for their friendliness and expertise. Their shop is clean and inviting. If you love yourself and like when your coffee tastes completely magical, treat yourself immediately!”

“Food was absolutely great. We got the thai burrito and the pasta Florentine with prawns. We also ordered the clams and muscles as an appetizer. They served bread along with your meal which was also great. You could see the ocean from our seats and they had heaters going for once the sun went down it got a little chilly. We paid $93 and all. They were open until 9:00 p.m. only one of three restaurants available after 5:00 p.m. seems like the whole town closes up at 5:00 p.m.”

“Truly the best dive bar in Mendocino as it is undoubtedly the only one in this town. Love the very calm and real energy this place exudes which is in stark contrast with all of the fake touristy places surrounding it. Decent beer line up. If you love overused dick jokes, this is also a great reason to come here.”

“I was heartbroken to learn that they don't sell bread anymore. It was SO FREAKING GOOD!!! But they still sell bagels and pastries and coffee drinks, and they're still top-notch folks. I suppose bread just wasn't a profitable part of their business. Too bad so sad because it was incredible! All you people that didn't buy don't know what you were missing and now you never will! “Did was delicious, the views were amazing and there was a nice mirror on the wall so you could see outside regardless of where you are seated.Drinks were fairly expensive - $14 local draft beers.Parking: Street parking was sufficient. You may need to walk a block or two if it's a particularly busy evening.Wheelchair accessibility: Did not appear to be wheelchair accessible. Entrance is on the second floor without apparent elevators.”

“I enjoyed every meal of our dinners at Ravens. The food is creative, delicious, and attractively presented. Most nights my daughter and I each got a small plate, followed by a large plate. One night we even indulged in dessert. The food is rich in vegetables and many other healthy ingredients, and is low oil and not fried. Our favorite small plate was the kale stack, and favorite large plate was the sea palm. As we roamed nearby parks, we were quite attuned to all the sea palms growing on rocks near shore. Ravens sources their sea palm locally, so we might have been looking at someone's future dinner. The portions are generous, and every night we took enough food back to our room for lunch the next day.”
