I came here for a special dinner with a large group and absolutely loved the ambience of the restaurant. The University Club captures the essence of USC, with beautiful architecture and old bookshelves that line the interior of the building. We ordered crab cakes and roasted brussel sprouts as an appetizer to share for the table. The upstairs venue is an excellent place to take professional development courses. The venue is spacious, well-lit, and well staffed.The 2019 summer institute for teachers of gifted students used the upstairs conference room. The lunch buffet was delicious and served by professional courteous and friendly staff.

Well, it's elegant. Elegant and actually quiet. Really, really blissfully quiet. The food wants to be elegant and fancy, but often falls short. Bland but nice, I'd say. When at USC, this is where I'll eat. I can have a pleasant convo with a friend and hear and be heard. When alone, I can blissfully zone out while reading the latest New Yorker.
