Let me start by saying the wait staff were terrific. I the wait staff was the only saving grace on the service rating. We were a large group reservations were made in advance but the manager refused to allow us to put 2 tables together since 2 people canceled and it would have allowed the other 2 not to have to sit by themselves. We were excited to try the Lakefront historic restaurant during our visit to Mammoth Lakes. The setting is lovely with beautiful lake views. Lunch is served on the outdoor patio, dinner in the dining room only. Parking is ample. However, we were quite underwhelmed with our dinner experience. Service was mediocre. It started with an amazing cheese plate in the lobby area accompanied by live music. We moved to a lake view table in the dining area and continued with a beet and date dish that stole the show. Service was top notch, main courses were fantastic and dessert was perfect. Highly recommend the experience.
