“This place is amazing, the food is delicious, and the portions are so big that you can honestly share a plate. I cannot emphasize how delicious the food is. The meat is tender and juicy, the salvadoran plate felt authentic, it had that taste that is so missing here in US. Even the Peruvian plate was delicious and better than Inka Mama's. I would definitely recommend eating here.“

“This restaurant is like a pearl in a clam in HP neighborhood. They serve delicious Salvadoran food. The restaurant can sit about five tables. It's clean and well lighted. There are two colorful wall paintings depicting life of Salvadorans. The cashier has a cheerful voice which enlightens your day. She's very friendly and knowledgeable.“

“Best pupusas this side of the border. What I love about this place is that I never gotta ask for more salsa, generous portions. Great side street parking, we got really lucky to leave a conference early and stumbled upon this whole in the wall gem ?“

“This place is much better than Comalapa across the street. The staff is friendly and their flavors are 10/10. Their pupusas are gigantic. I got the breakfast eggs with beans, plantains, tortillas, cheese, and sour cream, and their portions and flavor are the best. The beans were bomb. 100% recommended“

“While this small place might just be in a car wash, do not overlook this hiddengem when looking for pupusas. We have been coming here for years and the flavors are perfect. The pupusas are big, yet full of flavor and made fresh. This also means the wait times might be longer so if you do have larger orders, I recomend calling in ahead. They also have other food dishes such as soups, tacos and even tamals. This is a must try place for fans of food in general and especially salvadorean food. The prices are also very reasonable for the amount of high quality food you get.“

“The food was great, the pupusas were big and fresh. The plantains were a bit greasy but they tasted really good. The place could do a little more dining in friendly and work on a better air system so its not too hot inside but other than that the service was good, the food was even better.“

“I'm not Salvadorian, but I love Salvadorian foods. This restaurant makes me even more of a pupusa-lover. Since I don't know Spanish, the Google translator helps me to communicate with the employees. But I even love it. Definitely, more often I will come back to order my dinner from this restaurant!
Wheelchair accessibility: Park rear with handicap placard, and there is wheelchair accessible entrance.“

“I have been eating at this restaurant for more than one year. Their food has a great taste, and the service is excellent and friendly. All the plates look like they were cooked with love and care, compared to other Salvadoran restaurants I have visited in these areas, where they serve food to make money regardless of whether the dish is well cooked or not. Excellent restaurant!“

“Small restaurant. When coming here I enjoy getting their pupusas for take out. Very rarely eat in.They mostly speak Spanish so for me there's a little bit of a language issue. I guess on a fundamental level they are good with customer service. For their patients mostly and for not rejecting me and/or some other negative experience.Would I go again? Yes for spontaneous urge for pupusas.Would I recommend? Yes, I Encourage at least a few visits. To draw own personal feel. Support small business that has great pupusas, plus potential good food.“

“The pupusas are great. The black beans super delicious and the platanos fritos.

Parking is limited. I parked on the street.“
“I absolutely love eating at Vicki’s Restaurant in South Gate! If you’re craving authentic Salvadoran food, this is the spot.
My go-to order is the pupusas revueltas — they’re always perfectly stuffed, crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and served with fresh curtido and salsa that taste homemade. You can tell everything is made with care.
Their pastelitos de pollo are another favorite — flaky, flavorful, and perfectly seasoned. And the pan con pollo? So good. The chicken is tender, well-seasoned, and the sandwich is stacked with fresh toppings that bring everything together.
The food tastes traditional and comforting, like something straight from a family kitchen. The portions are generous, and the flavors are always consistent.
Highly recommend if you’re in South Gate and want real Salvadoran comfort food!“

“Best place to get pupusas salvadorian, best ones I recommend for intense flavor would be revueltos. The salsa that comes with it is a tomato salsa, bit watery-BUT not spicy at all AND delicious(especially the chicken/cheese pupusas!). Flavorful cooked plantains, sides, and chorizo sausage amazing! The staff are nice too! Definitely recommend!“

“Best pupusas ever. I’ve also tried their sopa de gallina, pan con pollo and yuca con chícharron which have all been excellent. Our go to is the pupusas revueltas grandes which will be a little bigger, have more filling and are so cheesy! We accompany our pupusas with the plate of Platanos con frijol y queso and a large ensalada drink, hits the spot every time. Everything is made to order so you might wait a while but it’s definitely worth it.“

He decided to try it. I placed an order online through Grub Hub for pickup. He waited the 20 minutes for it to be ready. Only to show up and find out they don't do online orders. Well, whatever, I will order in person, but it turns out that they only accept cash......they must have card services...there are people who use cards, because we don't use cash on the streets,,They need that service“

“I have gone to the champas because I have to pick up the pupusas that my wife orders to take away. They make some plantains that wrap beans and they are tasty and the pupusas too, except that I suffer from acids and vinegar because it makes my stomach upset, since I had an appendix operation, but if you have a good and healthy stomach I recommend them but not excessively so that it doesn't hurt your stomach too.“

“The food is good and decently priced.I like the fact that you can get Salvadorian dishes or Mexican.Since it's located in a lower-income area, the atmosphere is not even mid-tier.Don't let that discourage you.I enjoyed the chilaquiles with a side popusa.“

“Just one detail that I want you to be able to correct is the tanning that you can grind the marjoram a little because it has some very long twigs and one of those sticks got stuck in my throat and I couldn't get it out until with the help I took it out with some tweezers. I hope you pay attention to this detail.“
“It's was good I liked it. I will definitely go again.“
“Vegetarian options: You can get pupsas, empanadas, and platanos fritos. Pupsas have veggie options and if you've never had a Salvadorean empanada before, it's like a savory hot pocket of deliciousness. Cash only and easy on the wallet!
Kid-friendliness: It's a food stand outside, and by the gas station so easy to pick up on your way home.
Wheelchair accessibility: It's an outdoor food stand, so the sidewalk is accessible.“

“Don’t let the city scare you, this is a very nice and clean restaurant.
The food is very good, they serve both Salvadoran and Mexican food. I have only tasted the Salvadoran food, pupusas, sopa de pata, traditional breakfast etc. the dining area is spacious and will accommodate a large family. If you want authentic tasting pupusas or Salvadoran food this would be the place to eat.
There is plenty of onsite parking for both the restaurant and the other business.“

“This place is a hidden gem! First time trying out their liver with sautéed onions with veggies and rice and let me tell you it was worth it, I also ordered their signature Salvadorean dish Chicarrón pupusas with red spicy tomato sauce and pickled cabbage curtido and they were one of the best combos I've ever had.“

“Well, first advice, bring cash because they charge for using a card the food is delicious, the prices are good, the customer service is good, 4 stars, very nice decoration, you have to order in front, ok, not at the tables, it's strange for my name, they wanted to serve me at the tables, I ordered in front and They charged me Hai himself then notice that the others were fine ?“

“If you plan on wanting to eat at home, definitely order ahead..Wait for Pupusas is usually about 20 minutes. The people there are very nice, they have reasonable prices, and I feel like they are consistent with the quality of their food( at least for the last 5 years that I've been going).. my go tos are usually Pupusas de queso con jalapeño and bean and cheese, oh and the loroco ones. Plus an order of yucca frita with chicharron.“
