“Happy Sunday!I have been training a new staff member at Moraga School District for the last few months. It's allowed me to try some new places in the Lamorinda area. Bianca's Deli & Catering in the Moraga Shopping Center usually gets mentioned when people ask who has the best sandwich, so I was excited to try it. Bianca's makes great sandwiches! They bake the sourdough and Dutch crunch rolls in-house, and the bread is warm when you get your sammich. OMG, the sourdough is so good; it has a nice crunch on the outside but is soft in the middle. The sandwiches are huge; a half is usually enough (and they sell 1/2 sandwiches). I typically get a ham and mortadella, but I've also enjoyed the meatball and a roast beef sandwich. People rave about the grilled chicken & jack since they grill it in-house. My girlfriend really likes their egg salad. They also have great sides, including yummy deviled eggs! Sometimes, I grab some deviled eggs to have for dinner. It's a pretty unassuming spot; Bill and Marcy opened over 25 years ago. They have indoor and outdoor seating. Prices are reasonable, but it is cash only or checks if you live in the Lamorinda area. I recommend that you make sure to have singles and some change because they always ask if I have a dollar or some cents. I've included their menu so you can peruse it before your visit. “I love me a good sandwich in any form and when I was in the area I was surprised to see not too many options in Castro Valley. I came close to giving up and driving away right before I found this Italian Delicatessen. Thankfully it met all of my expectations! These sandwiches are LOADED! They are not shy with the veggies or deli-meat. I tried 2 sandwiches, the Dutch crutch was amazinggg. The sourdough was a true sourdough bread. Loved this place and will definitely come back!“

“I had just finished eating lunch after dropping off a Wiggly Koontz Hickory Stick to my old pal Crossmoore P. Hagginlipper so he can better control the beast within his bride, Helga, ..she can be pretty aggressive at play time. I'll tell you, I couldn't get outa there fast enough when Helga saw that Wiggly Stick come out of the box, I knew right then and there something was about to happen, and man did I run!I was cutting through town like I owned it, and then I saw Bara's Deli and being a Yogi Bera fan I just had to go in and eat again. “Solid place for a bite near Pleasant Hill BART station. I visited earlier this afternoon just before they closed at 3. Today was one of those back-to-back meeting days, and I had to work through lunch, so I was very hungry. I needed a bite before meeting colleagues for drinks and appetizers later in the afternoon. I ordered the Asian Chicken Salad ($10). Service was friendly and prompt - I appreciate that they pulled out a fresh salad bag for me even though it was just minutes before they closed. I took the salad to go, and enjoyed it to the last delicious morsel. Will be back!“

“I love this place! The owners are friendly and polite, always going out of their way to provide great service. I call and place my order and then drive down to pick up most of the time. They get fresh produce delivered everyday and they have some great potato salad they make that comes with the sandwich orders. The salads are delicious too! Because the ingredients are so fresh I can usually leave a salad in my fridge for 2 days and it still tastes amazing. 10/10 recommend this business #shoplocal“

“Wow. This was really good. I loved dipping my chips in my clam chowder. I ordered a soup and sandwich combo. I got the tuna sandwich. It was good. I forgot to order cheese but it was fine without it. It was nice to find good soup. I would definitely return if I am in the area again soon.“
