“I already posted a review for this location, but this place is worth the price. I ordered the spicy miso Ramen with tofu and takoyaki on the side. The Ramen wad very flavorful and coated everything placed in the bowl. It wasnt too heavy of a broth and the oil in it wasnt too much to the point of feeling ill. The tofu and egg also had its own flavor, having a lot to say despite just being toppings. The takoyaki octopus inside had a nice snap and overall was very good. A lot of noodles!!“

“I got the Steak and Shrimp bowl with brown rice and veggies…it was really good and flavorful but I wasn’t pleased that the shrimp wasn’t cleaned…the mud vein clearly visible on the 5 shrimp in the bowl…I picked the shrimp out and ate the steak…paid $12 for a bowl been nice if the shrimp were cleaned…won’t stop me from eating there again, I just won’t order any shrimp.“

“I had an excellent experience at Seattle’s Best Teriyaki restaurant! We ordered shrimp fried rice, chicken/beef teriyaki plate and the Salmon bento box. The food was fresh, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. The chicken was tender, the beef was juicy, the salmon was perfectly grilled, flaky, and full of flavor and the teriyaki sauce had the perfect balance of sweet and savory without being overpowering. The portions were generous, and everything was served hot.

The staff was friendly, welcoming, and made sure my order was prepared quickly. The restaurant was clean and had a comfortable atmosphere, making it a great place to enjoy a meal. If you’re looking for delicious teriyaki with great service and good value, I highly recommend giving this place a try. I’ll definitely be coming back!“

“This place is a true neighborhood gem! It's the kind of hole-in-the-wall you hope to stumble on and then want to keep the place a secret all to yourself. The sushi was outstanding, clearly made with care and skill. Every piece full of flavor.

The staff made the meal even better. They were warm, attentive, and genuinely polite without ever feeling stiff or overly formal. The kind of service that makes you feel like a regular on your first visit.

The atmosphere is a little rough around the edges, as it won't win any design awards, but there's a well-worn, lived-in charm to it that fits the vibe of the food. It's clear this is a place run with love, even if the decor hasn't caught up to the cooking.

“We’re so happy we found James and Matthew again.

Our family first met them over a decade ago, and over the years James’s sushi became the standard by which we compared every other sushi place. After losing touch for several years, we were thrilled to discover that they opened Tokyo Restaurant in Redlands, and it is every bit as good as we remembered.

The quality and freshness of the food is exceptional, and James’s sushi really stands apart. The service is just as impressive. Matthew runs the place with true five-star attention to detail. Holly is wonderful. After meeting us just once, she remembered our drink preferences, even that I usually bring my own water bottle. That level of genuine care is rare.

We’ve tried many sushi spots locally and while traveling, but nothing compares. It was extra special to bring our youngest son, who first knew James and Matthew when he was ten, and now he’s almost 24.

Exceptional food, exceptional service and wonderful people. We highly recommend Tokyo Restaurant. Five stars all the way.“

“I had the Miso Ramen Bowl with 3 big pieces of pork and a soft-boiled egg. The food was very delicious. The music they played in the background was a good mix of everything. The ramen bowl was so delicious that it was empty; nothing was left. It will not disappoint.“

“Found this gem when I fist moved here in march! Reasonable prices and quality of fish is good. I always sit at the sushi bar and the sushi chefs are always so nice and on top of it. Cajun salmon is delicious! Definitely recommend“

“Sushi Miguel’s Style is a great local spot with a welcoming atmosphere and a spacious, comfortable dining room. The restaurant is clean and well kept, with plenty of seating and a fun sushi-themed interior. The storefront is easy to find, and there’s also a nice outdoor area nearby with tables and palm trees. A great place to stop for sushi and enjoy a relaxed meal.“

“Pretty good sushi, nice enough atmosphere with cushioned booth seating, decent lighting (dimmer than a lot of restaurants but not swanky mood lighting), and fun decor. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable about their establishment and its product, if perhaps a little bit over-eager and leaning in a little hard into being the customer's new best friend. Again, charming and nice people from our experiences (we've been twice now), not bad service at all, and really depends on who your server is that night.

I order rolls at sushi restaurants, and these were good. Can't recall what i ordered, it was a minute ago, and I liked it (I like sushi in general), but it was maybe a bit sweeter than I prefer. There are a few better rolls in Redlands, but a few worse as well. The music and overall sound is a bit louder than ideal, but not the worst i've experienced. Some of the nitty-gritty details tell on the place a bit, like paper napkins instead of cloth and a lot more plastic than i'd like, which give it a sort of institutional fast-casual feel rather than a nicer restaurant feel (even many diners have cloth napkins), in contrast to the trendy atmosphere. Over all I would meet friends or my family here for dinner or perhaps lunch with no major complaints, but probably not a date personally.“

The sushi here was absolutely incredible. Everything we ordered was fresh, beautifully presented, and full of flavor. The quality of the fish was excellent, and every roll we tried exceeded our expectations. The chefs clearly take pride in what they do, and the food alone would definitely bring us back.

Unfortunately, our experience was overshadowed by something we couldn’t ignore. While we were dining, we overheard the manager training several new employees. Constructive coaching is one thing, but the way he spoke to them came across as rude, disrespectful, and unnecessarily harsh. It created an uncomfortable atmosphere for both the staff and the customers.

A restaurant can have amazing food, but a healthy organizational culture matters too. Employees deserve to be trained with respect, and the way leaders communicate sets the tone for the entire workplace. I genuinely hope management reflects on this because the kitchen is doing an outstanding job, and the staff deserve leadership that builds them up rather than tears them down.

I still highly recommend the food, but I also hope the restaurant takes steps to create a more positive and supportive work environment. We also learned that the manager at this time is the cousin of the owner of this restaurant.“

“Honestly the poke here is amazing, I kinda looked down on it at first due to the price and comparing the portions to panda next door but the amount of fish/protein you get for a normal is amazing. Definitely a more healthy alternative to the more greasy food around. I would argue that its better than some poke places off campus. Like other reviews have said the line does get long around 12-1 pm so I have always gone around 11am or 2pm+. Depends on your schedule obv. Thank you to all the student workers!“

The staff has always been friendly and quick. I can order online and pick up fast, earn free add-ons, and the food is good. The inside is plain and kind of dark, but clean, however I rarely eat there.“

“I came in about 10 PM and ordered the Chashu pork ramen. The wait is about 10 minutes and for about 27 dollars it’s worth your money. The pork tasted good with a salty flavor and just right texture not too hard not too soft. The ramen broth was heartwarming with seaweed and Chashu flavor. I ordered the spicy option but they also have a non spicy option. FYI they also blast rock music if that’s your thing. The restroom is a little dirty with graffiti but overall a gem for Ramen in Riverside. Definitely will visit again.“
