I have reviewed and rated over 50 cafes in California and a handful out of state cafes. I make no exaggeration when I say this place, by far, has the BEST coffee I have ever tried in all of California. The #1 spot for me is 7Grams in NYC, this place is #2.

I've come here many times, coffee and tea is amazing! We ordered here twice this weekend. First time was amazing, got drinks for the whole family, then came again the next day and got drinks again for the whole family. Unfortunately, when I asked for a cup of water after ordering, they said they couldn't do that. So unfortunate that they couldn't do that after I ordered 6 drinks. But the coffee is amazing, just wish they had better service.
Jasper Coffee on Balboa Island is exactly the kind of neighborhood coffee shop I want more of: beautiful, intentional, and actually serious about the coffee. The space is super cute without trying too hard, and that gorgeous Slayer machine immediately caught my attention.

Jasper Coffee is a great spot on Balboa Island with a perfect location. The coffee is delicious and consistently dialed in, with a simple menu featuring options like long black, flash brew, and pour-over. It also serves excellent single-origin Japanese matcha and real loose-leaf teas. The spot offers a calm energy, house-made syrups, and organic ingredients. It features a play area for kids, along with a thrift shop and photo booth. This neighborhood place is run by people who care and is a default for locals, not a scene.
