The owner is an Army veteran with 27 years of service, which is reflected in the identity and pride of the space. The brewery also won a 2025 California State Fair Gold Award in the commercial craft brew competition.
The unisex restroom is even called the “Latrine,” staying true to the military theme in a fun and intentional way.

They also offer 4-pack and 6-pack mix-and-match to-go options, which is a great bonus if you want variety.
Seating & Atmosphere:
There is both indoor and outdoor seating, with misting outdoors during the summer for comfort. It’s a community-focused brewery that hosts scheduled events, such as Thursday trivia nights. There is also food trucks on occasional events!!
MURAL:
One standout feature is the mural, officially titled “At Ease Brewing Co. Mural.” It was created by Glen Warren, creative director at Sacramento-based Commuter Industries.
The artwork blends a mid-century modern and space theme, featuring stylized rockets and celestial elements. It complements the brewery’s vintage military vibe while still feeling playful and inviting.
What I really appreciate is that the business gave the artist full creative freedom rather than forcing a strict military theme. That generosity shows in the final result: it feels authentic and visually striking.
As the artist shared, the goal was to create something bold, simple, and joyful: an “Instagram hotspot” that brings a moment of optimism, especially reflecting post-2020 sentiment.
Overall, it’s a well-thought-out space with great beer, strong identity, and a welcoming community feel.“

“Burning Barrel Brewing Co. is easily one of the most exciting breweries I’ve visited—and I’ve visited a lot. The tap list? Insane. Over 20 beers on rotation, from hazy IPAs and crisp pilsners to wild smoothie sours and barrel-aged stouts. I tried a blueberry banana cheesecake sour that tasted like it came straight from a dessert menu. Meanwhile, the “Side Pull Pillows” Czech pilsner was perfectly clean and balanced—proof they do the classics just as well as the experimental. The space is laid-back and welcoming. Plenty of seating both inside and out, misters on the patio for hot days, and dog-friendly! The staff was super knowledgeable and happy to offer recommendations based on what I liked. You can really tell the team here cares about quality and innovation. Also, the service was fast, friendly, and genuinely passionate about beer—which makes a huge difference. Whether you’re into crushable lagers, pastry stouts, or bold fruit-forward sours, Burning Barrel has something that’ll blow you away. All there food is amazing and so fresh and delicious and tasty 🤤 it’s so good and worth the drive to go down there to get some great food and they have more then just beer on tap if you don’t drink beer. And there pet friendly and family friendly as well.“
“The inside and front tables are nice but the back patio is fabulous. No street noise, breezes and sunshine, the perfect place to enjoy a beer. Some nice options on tap, but a usual an inordinate amount of IPAs. Something like 60-75% of the board, which is the trend at the moment for breweries. I had high hopes for the food truck but that didn't pan out. Next door Nepalese restaurant is where it's at.“

“I really wanted to try the vegan fish and chips, my partner Muddy also wanted the same. My son is not vegan and had a burger, but immediately stole on of my "fish". I ended up ordering more because he was trying to steal a second one. Very delicious. All could think of was artichoke in the vegan "fish" but it turns out they use hearts of palm. I took pictures of all the things listed as vegan. I do love Brussel Sprouts and they can veganize it by taking off the bacon. Maybe I will try that next time.“

“I travel for business and have visited MANY restaurants and actually many BJs. Arden is peak in performance for BJs. Amazing friendly staff (Joe was great at my last visit!). Food is always on point. Clean and upkept. This is how a restaurant/brewhouse should be. 😀“

“The venue is unique and the beers are good. The brisket and the half spicy Hawaiian chicken were good but not something I'd make a special trip for. Both of them came out cold as well. The collards were surprisingly good. I'd definitely try them out again and try something else on the menu.“

“Spent an evening here and had a good time hanging out. Lots of different areas to sit and the building itself is really cool. There is a rooftop area with seating and fire pits and a DJ who played good dancing music! I would agree that one or two bartenders seemed not too interested in being there but the rest were very friendly and helpful. I didn’t realize there are rooftop rules as you can’t bring food or drinks you order downstairs to the rooftop and vice versa. A bartender had explained those rules to us after we expressed going to the rooftop. Although I wanted to order a Sour and hang out on the rooftop, but the sour and most ciders are served downstairs Not too big a deal as there is outdoor seating downstairs too. Would definitely check it out again if I am in the area.“
