“The couple that run this place are so kind and good at what they do. The food is amazing here and well priced. They have a great daily special for$9.50 as of 11/2025 that includes 2pc of fish, 3pcs fried zuchinni, cup of very good coleslaw and a healthy portion of fries. The batter on the fish and zuchinni is light and airy, very crispy and exactly what you crave when thinking of fish and chips! They have a great tartar sauce and malt vinegar to go with it. The one thing I really appreciate about this place is they automatically bring you everything you need to dress up your plate when eating in. A great place overall that just hits the nail on the head!!“

“Hands down my favorite fish spot in Long Beach!
I stopped by The Fish Shack after a home showing and ordered a full pound of catfish — crispy, perfectly seasoned, and cooked to perfection every single time. The owner is always so kind and welcoming, and they truly take care of their customers.

“Placed an order online for pick up, parking is a little tricky due to a lot of 7 Eleven traffic but i drove around once and it cleared up quick, be patient. I ordered the 10 wing with a side. The wings were well cooked, I like my wings crispy. Flavor was the Honey pepper garlic, it was pretty good. The onion rings have alot of batter they taste so good. The combo came with a soda and two ranch. Will be recommending this place to everyone.“

“This place is miraculous.
This is the best fish and chip left in all of Southern california, with the best most competitive price and a nice quaint restaurant.
I have probably come back here 10-15 times ever since I've written this review - and it only keeps getting better.
If you want to take someone to the best fish and chips in the city, bring them here. This place cannot be beat.
If you have anyone to ask for quality fish and chip in the area, just bring them here. I
promise you - you will be happy.
They have many other things including hush puppies and chicken fingers, but they make the MOST AUTHENTIC ENGLISH fish and chip in the entire Los Angeles area.

“Some of the best fish and chips ive had living LA. Fish was freshly battered and well seasoned. Fries were also above average for a small restaurant, well seasoned and very fresh . The lady taking orders also showed probably the best customer service for a fast-casual restaurant that gives a full service dine in a run for their money . Will definitely be back“

“Always excellent food, margaritas, and prices. I am still sad they got rid of the “Mexican pizza” from the kids menu last year, it was one of the only things my son with autism would consistently eat while dining out. But they still have great dishes overall- shrimp tacos are the best!“

“We were recommended to this place by some friends, so we decided to give it a try. We walked in and were immediately greeted, asked if we knew what we wanted. We said we needed a coyote of minutes, but the gentleman said no problem, but answered some questions we had. We ordered the chicken skins, hush puppies and the #1 with light meat (breast and a wing with potato wedges and a roll). The hush puppies were so flavorful, no need for a dipping sauce. The chicken skins were huge and also very flavorful. I finally got to my chicken because it was so hot, I'm not sure because I had the other stuff, but the chicken wasn't as flavorful as the other stuff I had. The potato wedges were good, very hot as well. We will be back! Good value for what you get!“

“Came here for a business dinner and was seated outside on a beautiful evening. Started off with a mix of oysters and the Cevichos. Both were excellent. Then the 5 of us went different directions for our mains, but my Squid Ink Linguini was top notch! Our server this evening was Chase K. He did excellent and we would love to come back here. Really good restaurant!“

“Service was really good which is always a must for me.
The amount of food I got in my boil bag was good as well for the price. I got crab and shrimp lb of each. The only thing is their gumbo base is a little more thin than I personally like and light on flavor. I also got the jumbo shrimp plate and they weren’t really jumbo shrimp however they were really good flavor. Overall I would come back and I actually got it to go so I’d like to sit down and see how it is in the future. But usually if to go is good in house is good or better 😊“
“I’m from Louisiana the taste of his fish is from Louisiana is delicious!!!!!!fried perfectly flaky outside crust seasoned perfectly tender morsels of fish within. I am super surprised that this little place has the best fish fried fish in Long Beach maybe even LA is bomb and the sides were good too.“

“I thought the fish, zucchini and Cole slaw were quite tasty, the gentlemen who took my order was very friendly, and it didn’t take very long for my order. My only suggestion is to go a little before or after lunch hour because it gets very busy.“

“We have never been to Maggie's Pub and are delighted we went. The atmosphere was exactly how we like it. We had fish and chips, and shepherd's pie. The food was amazing, and the selection of beer was great to have. We enjoyed the time here and will visit again.“

“This fast service restaurant has the best fries in Knott's--crinkle cut and fresh! Right now they are serving Hot Dogs and they have several types to choose from. We have liked all of them so far. This summer they are also having a weekly special, which is always good to have something new to try at each visit to Knotts!

“Terrific alternative to typical fast food. If you're diet conscious and looking for clean, healthy food, this is an excellent choice. Even for people who aren't big fish eaters, there's something on the menu.

“The chicken tasted the same from when I was a kid. It’s been over 20 years and they haven’t changed. When I walked in and saw the wooden orange chairs, all I could do was nod my head up and down thinking “ yuuuup this is how I remember it” It was a pretty cool moment and an AWESOME TREAT🍗🍗🍗❣️❣️❣️I’ve gone 2 Sunday’s in a row, my Pioneer Chicken craving has been accomplished👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾“
