Our dinner at Bocanova was truly special. Their focus on Peruvian and Mexican cuisine yields combinations not easily found elsewhere; at least, not as good. The wait staff were competent, friendly (not stiff), and gave good advice and explanations. Their new location is spacious and quieter than other restaurants with large rooms. Bocanova is at the top of our preferred dining options.
Went for a special wine tasting dinner set up in the back atrium. (Argentinian beef with Chilean wines.) Sunlight glare was a problem for a 530pm start in August. But as always, Rick's culinary creations were very good and Martin was a gregarious host. Wines were OK but I think not up to the wines at Bocanova's best events in the past.
Came here a month ago and loved the Crispy Fried Whole Branzino and the Seafood Cioppino so came again just to get it. We have some really great drinks, pisco sour, passionfruit mojito and one of the best horchata. We got 2 orders of Poblano Cornbread\r since it is that good you don't want to share with others. “Esquites” Roasted Corn, shrimp empanadas and lastly for dessert Tres leches and a sweet cornbread dessert.
