“It was my Mom's 50th birthday and I was looking for a place that does photo cakes. I had 50 different pictures I wanted on the cake and that's when I came across Alice Street Bakery Café. I was skeptical if any bakery would take on such an order, especially on short notice (I had only 3 days to go for the birthday), but all my worries were put to ease as soon as I started talking to them. They made this process absolutely seamless as all I had to do was send them the pictures through WhatsApp. They found the perfect size for the cake, appropriately adjusted and cropped all the various sized pictures, arranged all the photos aesthetically, and even included a custom frosted birthday message which I sent in earlier. I was thrilled by their responsiveness and communication as they constantly kept me in the loop and were easy to reach when I had any concerns. The cake was finished exactly when they said it would, and when I went to pick it up, I couldn't stop smiling because it looked even better than advertised. The best part about it all was that my mom absolutely loved it and it made her day even more special. So a big thank you to Alice Street Bakery Cafe, and I cannot recommend them enough! TLDR: I ordered a 50 photo cake for my mom's 50th birthday, and Alice Street Bakery Cafe did a phenomenal job on a time crunch, all while being transparent and responsive with minimal effort on my end. “Support this (kinda hidden) local business! Very tasty cupcakes! It’s hard to find a good gluten free cupcake and their tiny chocolate cupcakes did not disappoint! The cheesecake frosting I stole from my bf’s regular cupcake was also very good. The cupcakes are kinda pricey, not something I’d buy all the time, but until my next visit: I’m going to be craving them for sure! Park around the corner by the school, San Pablo St doesn’t have much available.Dietary restrictions: They have gluten free and vegan options.“

“The bread taste good and there's a lot to chose from but I gave it 4 stars because the "horchata frappe" tasted like coffee with caramel so basically a caramel frappe but it still taste good hopefully I'll come back and try their ice cream. The service was okayyyy um the lady looked like she didn't wanted to work but I went there right after they open so maybe she ain't a morning person .“

The staff is friendly and helpful, and the location is perfect for a relaxing stroll along the waterfront. The shop has a cozy and colorful atmosphere, with plenty of seating options along with Jack London square and a large menu board. They offer a variety of flavors, including some exclusive ones that you can’t find anywhere else. They also have non-dairy options for vegan customers, and sorbet for those who prefer something lighter. You can order your ice cream in cups, cones, sundaes, shakes, or smoothies, and customize it with toppings and sauces. They also have ice cream cakes for special occasions, and catering services for events. The prices are reasonable for the quality and quantity of ice cream you get, and they often have promotions and discounts. I highly recommend trying their new flavors: Butterscotch’d, Chocolate PB Chunk, Churray for Churros!, Lights! Caramel! Action!, and Oatmeal Dream Pie. They are all delicious and unique, and you can find more information about them on their website. “This place probably bakes one of the best versions of practically all your favorite desserts: Mexican wedding cookies, old-school Italian butter cookie assortments that the now-defunct Virginia Bakery in Berkeley used to sell, classic eclairs, strawberry shortcake, tiramisu, Opera cake, Napoleons, croissants, the list is seemingly endless. Very cute space that also sells coffee, and sidewalk seating, too.“
