Great tea, good price
Fun tea place in Oakland, I love their Taiyaki and fish curry balls. I walked to the Plaza down the street to sit by the fountain and enjoy my snack.

Golden Tea Shop is a tasty and affordable tea shop in Oakland Chinatown. The teas are nourishing, using actual teas, fruits and herbs instead of powders. There is a great selection of loose leaf teas. The drinks are good, with a nice tea taste, and the boba pearls are perfectly bouncy. The price is great and the cup is a good size. The scented tea has over 10 options of lightly herbal and floral teas, majority are non caffeine and dairy free. The peach gum milk tea with black tea is a personal favorite, creamy with a nice tea taste. The Mango Sago, Hong Kong Style Tea and the Dragon Well Tea with Pudding & Grass Jelly all taste great. However, drinks take time to prepare because it is family owned, so patience is needed. There is the option to order ahead. It may not be the fanciest boba shop, but it is truly an underrated one. The owner is a great small business to support instead of a chain.
