“We were here for dinner on a recommendation from some local folks. Wow it exceeded our expectations. We were told to try the chicken and waffles, they did not disappoint, savory fried chicken on top of sour dough waffles with house made kimchi, yummmmm! We both got a cup of soup purple sweet potato puree, as pretty as it was delicious, and fresh sea food bouillabaisse equally delicious. Our only regret is that we were too full to try one of the wonderful desserts. We will definitely be back the next time we're in town.😋😋😋😋“

“Our favorite spot in Avila! The food menu is simple but it’s literally perfection and such a fun experience shucking your own oysters. We stopped by with our pup and grabbed seats in the cute backyard area where there’s plenty of spots in the shade or at the counter if you want to people. We had a bottle of petnat (loved it!) and a dozen oysters and both were exactly what we were looking for on a hot sunny day. Everything here is local, the petnat is from SLO and the oysters are from Morro Bay and mignonette is also made from locally grown ingredients. We love oysters and the ones from Morro Bay are in the top 3 we’ve had for sure. The service was top notch and the only suggestion I’d make is to stay open longer; the backyard had cute cafe lights and would be a fun hangout spot in the evenings.“

“Down home diner. Food portions are good size. Inside is small, but I personally prefer eating on the patio. Family friendly and they make you feel welcomed. We have eaten there quite a few times and will be back. Sometimes service has been slower than other times, but that depends on how busy they have been.

“My mom and I had been driving all day and pulled into Hoagies about 2 minutes before closing time. We asked CJ and Taylor if it would be possible to still order some food. They said they were happy to do so! Then we told them they we both have celiac disease and asked if they could give us something gluten free. They both went out of their way to read labels for us and even asked if we would like to have corn tortilla strips on our salads instead of croutons (which are not gluten free). “How can I not say how great this place is? I’ve grownup around the area and the waiters and staff have always made me feel like I was home.

I would definitely recommend the cinnamon roll. It comes with this pink cream cheese frosting that is absolutely to die for!

If you want something more tangible go for their burrito or anything with eggs. They always cook it to perfection!

You have to dine-in for your first time there. It’s also surrounded by some other great businesses so don’t forget to check those too!
