My husband and I have been dining here since 2019, so we felt it super fitting to have our rehearsal dinner for our March wedding at Byblos Cafe....and boy were we blown away with everything from the smallest details, like our personalized menus and cute bride and groom drawing, to the delicious food carefully prepared for our occasion.The entire process from start to finish was such a breeze (which is super helpful while planning your entire wedding!) and Susan was a complete dream to work with. “Wow, small but powerful, very tasty and large portion. The falafel were very crispy and tender, very traditional flavor. The tahini and other sauces very well done. The chicken Shawarma bowl was huge, not traditional shaved Shawarma, but very good nonetheless. All in all, a very nice addition to the lab, and a worthwhile place to stop for Mediterranean type food.“

“Was looking for a late morning snack with my family after driving from San Diego and was glad we found Al Amir. We ordered the mini zaatar manakish, mini zaatar and cheese manakshi and a regular meat manakish and they were so good. The zaatar tastes home made, the flavors were so fresh. We were all happy and satisfed.“
“Had a quick lunch today and tried this place from a coworker recommendation. It's near John Wayne and the 73 freeway tucked inside a small shopping center. Inside, there's a number of tables, the counter, and an area for sauces, a green sauce and red sauce. The service was awesome, where the cashier was welcoming and explained everything including the sauces, warning that the red sauce is spicy. I ordered the chicken shawarma plate, and everything came out to a square $20. I thought it was a bit pricey at first, but the plate was very large, probably enough for two meals for most people. It came with the protein, rice, veggies, a small salad and hummus. Everything tasted great, and the red sauce went really well with the chicken. The additional bread was a nice touch too. It was a very filling meal overall!Definitely check this place out!“
“Good service, the inside was unique with a lot of interesting designs on the wall. I ordered the cheese boat, along with the lahmajun and the manakish of za'atar and cheese, they were all quite good, and I would definitely recommend this place if you are looking for a middle eastern breakfast. The tea really topped off the experience of being authentic. Would go again when I'm back in Anaheim.“

“Do we visited the lounge side of this restaurant (chapter 4). I love the outdoor tables. I guess you can smoke your cigars and drink your well drinks to a quaint outdoor setting. I got the Latin Lover and my boyfriend got some whiskey drink. Noth were extremely strong so we nursed it the entire time. The Japanese snacks were free and yummy but we ordered the steak and fries...no Bueno! It was super duper dry and overcooked. Don't go here for food...just drinks and nice outdoor ambiance.“
“I came in here for a snack and found the interior to be a delightful surprise - how charming! The brightly colored painted walls and lights made it so bright, cheery, warm, and welcoming. The service here was focused, professional, and kind. I loved how our food was brought out on a charming tray and our server removed each individual item with care and patience. It was a quaint experience to end our night with. I was also surprised at the culinary experience. We did not order much, as it was only meant to be a snack. I felt that they went above and beyond to complete our dining experience. The food felt very homemade in the best way possible - it was homey and comforting. The bread that covered the spinach pie (which was way larger than I was expecting) was fluffy, filling, warm, and just out of this world. The ideal bread experience! I am personally not a fan of the chicken shawarma here - it was reminiscent of street food/the Halal guys in the sense that it was more boiled meat than shawarma meat.. but the garlic sauce was uhhhmazing, as was the hot sauce, which was spicy with a hint of a sweet aftertaste. I am not a huge fan of soda, but if you have not tried Vimto, it is a MUST try. It complemented our food so well and I was beyond satisfied with this purchase. The food here was not exceptional, but I would give this experience overall 5 stars.“
“The food was delicious with very generous portions! I had the mediterranean chicken salad & my daughter had the grilled chicken kabob plate. The gentleman who cooked and served our food was delightful. We ate outside with a nice view of the whole promenade. We will definitely be back. We enjoyed the whole street experience. “Halal food in Long beach! Don't be fooled by the outside - there's Mexican food here but also middle Eastern food too, so there are healthy options if you don't want a bunch of Cheetos on your food for example. I always liked the food here even before it was Fatima's, and the quality has remained the same! It's a small venue so you probably want to take your food to go, but for the price and quality it can't be beat!“
“The restaurant is the equivalent to Naf Naf Grill in other places, which cannot be found in California. It is located in a small shopping plaza where most businesses are super busy. It makes this one look very quiet in comparison. However the food is surprisingly good. After we ordered from here for the first time, we ordered again the next day.“
“I got a bunch of maneesh (aka Arabic pizza) this time and the service was excellent as usual. The interior is decorated with beautiful stone like masonry and other items that gives the place a very traditional, medieval and/or even ancient vibe to it. There are only 5 tables for sitting inside (22ish people max) but the patio area a lots for much more seating capacity. The cheese Maneesh is excellent as always as is the zaatar. And fortunately, the lahmbi3ajeen maneesh was even better than last time. The food is a little on the expensive side but it seems like that is the trend everywhere in southern California and probably in the US in general as well.Vegetarian options: Maneesh, falafel, humus, labne and much much more.Parking: The parking lot could get full sometimes but usually there is always plenty of parking spots available. Additional street Parking is available as well within 20-40 yards (meters).“
