“Little hole in the wall... sooo good. We already had our go-to Salvadorean restaurant buuuuut this place now has us questioning ourselves haha. The customer service is top notch, very friendly and attentive staff. The pupusas, although seemed a little pricier than our regular place, almost $5 a pupusa (Rice dough is the way to go) after receiving them, the price is more than reasonable. The pupusas are huge and extremely well stuffed. We ordered Revuelta con Jalapeño ( beans, pork, cheese and jalapeno) and an order of Plátano Frito. The plate for Plátano Frito had sooooo many fried plantains, it was a pleasant surprise, most places only put like 6 pieces for $10, but not here, this one was packed! We definitely cannot wait to go back and introduce the rest of our family and friends to this hidden gem. Be sure to check them out, you won't be disappointed.“

“Don’t let the exterior deter you from some good pupusas. We liked the balance between the masa and cheese. Other places give you a ton of masa and little to no contents. This is not the case here. Good flavor, good ingredients, good curtido and their red salsa was nice and spicy. Look forward to trying others. They had cheese, bean, been and cheese, squash/calabasitas and cheese, chicharrón, and revueltas. We had cheese and a revuelta.“

“Everything was delicious. From the first coffee that came out to the last bite, my little one kept asking for more chicken, so flavorful.
You have to try their tamales, the masa has great taste and the texture is perfect. Their pupusas were perfect ratio of masa to filling and were not greasy at all. We also tried their gallina guisada with rice and salad, perfect! This is not a regular menu dish, but try anything guisado, and I’m sure it’ll be great also.
I enjoyed the service and atmosphere also.
I don’t write many reviews, but I had to for El Sabor de El Salvador because I definitely recommend.“

“We stayed next door at the Great Wolf Lodge and were looking for dinner that wouldn't cost us an arm and a leg. We found this Pupuseria next door and decided to give it a try. I must say that we enjoyed the pupusas very much. They were delicious. The pricing was good and the size is that of your average pupusa. Our server was really nice and helped answer any questions that we had. He came constantly to see if we needed or wanted to order anything else. We actually did order a few more pupusas and a macho banana with condensed milk (which was delicious). I would definitely come back to eat here if I was in the area, or when we come back to the hotel next door. If you are staying at the GWL, just walk over, it's next door. No need to move your car from the crazy parking structure.“

“If you are looking for a good beef broth, come to this restaurant, it is small, clean and has very good food. It is almost always full so the service is always a little slow because they have to attend to tables, orders, customers, etc. I highly recommend the beef soup (beef broth), the dish is perfect and they add a lot of meat more than vegetables. It is advisable to go early as it takes a while to serve the food.“

“Really good pupusas. We tried 4 of the 10 types and I always pick the eclectic options. The pumpkin, loroco, and jalapeno were mild in flavor but had fabulous cheesy goodness. The chicken added a better contrast and their table hot sauce was tasty. We got a bowl of curtido, too, which was also good. They do make everything fresh, so if there is a line, expect to wait a little, it is worth it. I will return and test other interesting options.“

“One of the better Salvadorian places I have eaten at. I had the chicken fajitas with my friends ordering the chicken soup (sopa de gallina in Spanish) and the paw soup [paw soup is made of cow hoof] (sopa de pata in Spanish). This place is pretty hidden with a homey atmosphere. The owners are a sweet couple from El Salvador and are very friendly. So much so that they’ll sit in the table next to you talking about their lives. One thing to note if you are not familiar with the culture, substitutions are not impossible but are frowned upon. The food is quite good as well. The chicken fajitas have a great flavor with the tortillas being hand made. The portions size is definitely reasonable for the 17 Dollar price. I would give the fajitas a 8/10. The chicken soup on the other hand not the best but no the worst with a 7/10 rating from my friend. The paw soup definitely was the best dish order with a rating of 8.5/10. We did order papusas and it very good as well 8.5/10. Everything here seems pretty solid and if you are within 20 minute drive definitely recommend checking it out. I gave this place 4 stars but definitely deserved a 4.4 stars“

“Our family loves this small restaurant. Food is always hot, fresh, and tasty. Some favorites are the pupusas, pollo encebollado, carne asada, and the yucca or fried banana for a side. The glass bottles of soda out of the fridge are always cold.“

“Every time I go it’s like waiting for food at home because of the giggling you hear in the kitchen and the conversation you have with the staff. Thank you for the warmth you bring with the food and service. Even if I can probably bug sometimes lol.“
