“Ortega's is bomb dot com! Holy smokes, I can't believe I never knew about it until today. The salsa (all spice levels) is absolutely delicious. The shredded chicken is by far the best I have ever had, in a Mexican restaurant. The service was great, too. The gentleman was very kind to myself and 4 of my kids who were with me. We will be repeat customers!! I don't have a photo becasue the food was so good I ate it all first.“

“Shasta County has a few examples of multi genre food restraunts. They're kind of the precursor to the whole fusion thing. Papi's offers Mexican, American and Chinese food and honestly does a good job at all three. Great place to get food for a big group. They have a drive through and you can order inside which is nice when you have a big vehicle that won't fit through the driveway. Gets busy when the high school is out. I have never eaten anything there that I didn't like and they are reasonably priced and you definitely a good value for what you pay .

Kid-friendliness: Small place but always friendly and welcoming. They have a variety of food so if you have a kid that wants a burrito, another that wants a hambuger and you want chicken teriyaki than this is the place for you. All of the different options are definitely good and makes for an easy one stop shop for a family.“

“Best Mexican food in Redding. The staff are always kind. Sometimes, depending on what you get, it feels a little pricey, but for authentic food, it's worthwhile. It might be cheaper elsewhere but then the food elsewhere will taste cheaper too. Overall, this place goes out of their way to make you want to come back again and again.“

“I've lived near Mr. Taco for about 10 years and didn't try until recently. I have noticed their amazing support and kindness to our local community through the years and honestly had been meaning to stop by, but just never have. So, fast forward to this week-- my hubby was going to grab dinner on the way home and I asked him to stop by and grab me something. I pulled up their Facebook and saw a pic of their San Diego fries. They looked good and so I gave them a try. Well....they were goddam addictive. I had him stop by 2 days in a row. I will be definitely be returning because not only are they a great member of our community, their food is fire. Great prices, too! Now, I have one suggestion and a huge part of the reason that I hadn't stopped before is that they don't have an online ordering option. I have weird dietary restrictions and allergies and like to take my time looking through a menu and get anxious if someone has to wait for me, so I prefer to order online and go and pick up instead of ordering in person. Ordering by looking at a picture was highly unusual for me on that first day but since the ingredients were relatively basic I decided to take a risk. I am SO glad that I did. If you haven't tried them, please do. They are well worth the stop.“

Also had the mild salsa and chips, I could have eaten three containers of the salsa! Love the fact that they use fresh avocado, scooped right out of the skin onto your burrito.“

“I love myself a good taco and a good torta, unfortunately Redding /Anderson falls way short of good tortas, but this place kills it. My bread is never soggy the right crisp on my carnitas, fresh ingredients and a good selection of beers to have with dinner (not like 30 it's a restaurant not a brewery the 5 or 6 bottles too choose from of will get you there) it's become my favorite stop for in house Mexican food. I recommend it for anyone out for a bite.“

“The food at Elenis’s food truck is delicious, fresh and served with warmth and friendliness. A family run business that make you feel like family. Their food is authentic and tasty and the price is right. Easy to find with lots of parking.

Vegetarian options: They can make just about any dish vegetarian. Replace the meat for beans.

“Man on man what a wonderful place. Tired of paying $20 at Taco Bell for food, try this place if you are in the area. AC was good and cold on a hot day, staff were wonderful and cheerful. Food was amazing. Had the 3 taco special and for the price and quality I felt as if they just gave it away.

“My husband and I stopped here with our baby on Valentine’s Day to celebrate being new parents. She had different plans for us and ended up being too fussy to be inside. When we requested our food to go, the staff gave us a discount on our order and free dessert to boot! He got the birria ramen and I went with a pork belly bowl. Both were amazing, and so was the chocolate mousse! Will definitely be back next time we are passing through Redding :)“

“"Atmosphere?" In a place that shares the room with a gas station/convenience store? No. It's exactly what you'd expect. But I don't eat 'atmosphere,' do you? Ask about their menu (surprisingly varied, including deserts) or especially their chow, which is first rate. There is a 'specials' menu, many items combined with the Coke brand drink of your choice (not Pepsi). Is it authentic? They have lingua, okay? It's counter service. Eat here (or take out) seven days a week and never repeat your menu (unless you fall in love with the crispy taco plate).

“Lovely family owned taco shop with amazing food, sometimes there wait can be longer than others because they run out of your favorite meat options. But that only means it's hot and fresh the people eat it up! The ladies in front are always nice and the cooks are amazing at their job. The lobby is always clean when we come in and the salsa bar they have in there eating area is always neat and at least looks swapped out often, I never see any signs of laziness when it comes to sanitation.“

Wow such great service, a small family owned market with a variety of Mexican goodies. We had a fruit cup and a Piña Loca. The Piña loca was load with a variety of fruits and Mexican candy. It was so so good. We highly recommend this spot!“
