Restaurantji's Shasta Lake recommendations for the finest Mexican cuisine.
“We stopped here on our way to Redding from the Shasta Caverns and enjoyed it. There was tons of parking since it shares a parking lot with a few other businesses. The food was made fresh to order and tasted great. We enjoyed looking at all the artwork and decorations while we ate and were entertained with good music. The staff was friendly and even gave us a travel guide to help us explore the area. I would recommend this quaint little restaurant to anyone else passing through.“
“I was traveling through the area when I spotted the Taco-Shop and decided to stop-in for a burrito. Their carnitas was scrumptious; really enjoyed it. The restaurant was tidy/clean, the customer service was very pleasant and the pricing was great! Enjoy!“
“The food was delicious and the burritos were humongous! We ordered the super burrito with carne asada, we didn't get guacamole on our burritos but they were still so yummy! I think our server may have been having an off day or maybe it was because they were a little busy but she was a little off putting. She asked if we wanted sauce and then only gave us a couple of the one sauce that I wanted and none of the other sauce that my husband wanted. We will return because we love the food! It was our first time using the drive thru, I think from now on we will come inside, it just seemed more convenient since my husband is in a wheelchair and the front door was all blocked off.“
“Best Mexican food in town unfortunately they are moving to AndersonDietary restrictions: I was able to get chicken since I couldn't have Red meat at the time. And no Cheese because I wasn't supposed to be eating dairy. And it still tasted really good. My wife can't have gluten and shes able to eat pretty much everything other than things with flour tortillasWheelchair accessibility: All one Level. No steps“
“Best Mexican food in Redding. The staff are always kind. Sometimes, depending on what you get, it feels a little pricey, but for authentic food, it's worthwhile. It might be cheaper elsewhere but then the food elsewhere will taste cheaper too. Overall, this place goes out of their way to make you want to come back again and again.“
“Delicious food. Frustrating take-out experience.Called in an order for sausage and bacon breakfast burrito, carnitas street taco, carne asada street taco, and chips and salsa from a gas station to save time getting on the road. Arrived to find they hadn't even started our order. They had only two other guests visible so they didn't appear busy.Next I found that they up charged us $3.50 for bacon and didn't say anything about it on the phone. After a long wait she bagged up our stuff. I asked for green and red salsa for the burrito and tacos not knowing that "chips and salsa" didn't include any salsa. ??♂️I hefted our ten pound sack of Mexican of food to the car, unhappy about the high price of bacon and street tacos ($4.75!). I was soon to be more unhappy as there was no salsa packed with in "chips and salsa" container... ?Then we discovered the SIZE of the tacos and burrito... ? and the taste... ???. I'm mixed on this experience. I was literally angry... and then elated... and then in a food coma. I'm writing this a day later and wishing I had another carnitas taco to eat. ??♂️Great tasting food in bountiful quantity! Be prepared to pay. And make sure to ask for lots of extra salsa. The green is soo tasty!“
“Great customer service. As soon as we sat down we received waters, chip and salsa! Without even asking our waiter brought us another dish of salsa. Our food arrived piping hot!!! Our meals were excellent tasting. When finished we received two freshly cooked tortilla chips covered in cinnamon sugar, dollop of whipped cream and strawberry jam. Super happy with Guadalajara Mexican Restaurant.“
“Delightful mom and pop restaurant. Quiet, atmospheric with quick service and small two person tables. The food is amazing with homemade chips and salsa and fresh sides with every dish. 10/10 recommend. But if you’re a gringo ask them to add a little spice to an otherwise delicious meal.“
“Everything was absolutely incredible! I had the quesabirria tacos — soft, homemade tortillas, flavorful meat, just the right amount of onion & cilantro, & flavorful dipping sauce. My husband had the burrito Felix with carnitas and loved it as much as I did. The chips & salsa were excellent - chips were actually salted. Will be back to try everything else on the menu soon! Ambience was clean and pleasant, & the family who owns it was very friendly“
“We love their breakfast menu. They are super efficient and consistently taste amazing. We really appreciate them feeding us with all the love they use in their cooking. I would recommend them to all my friends and family , because of all the different cuisines they offer. Something for everyone. Thank you Joe’s Giant orange!“
