Mexican Restaurants near Shasta Lake

“I heard good things about this place so I tried it the other day .
They give you big portions , and for a decent price as other reviewers have said .
The food in my opinion is ok , it's not top notch , but for the price and portions it's worth it , plus they have a drive through .
I really like their carne asada tacos , their chips , and their fire roasted salsa .
I did try their chili relleno and didnt care for it because it had no flavor and the fried crust was odd , but other than that if you are thinking about eating here I'd tell you to give it a go , you will definately get a big portion for a reasonable price .
I would eat here again .“

“I visited this place when it first opened, and it was amazing then. However, working in the restaurant business for as long as I did visiting a second time.I contemplated that it might have gone downhill as many restaurants do as time passes. However, today I tried an enchilada lot of late.And I must say as simple as an enchilada plate can be every piece of it was delicious! Most Mexican restaurants don't really bother to put much time and effort in their rice and beans.And they were both were fabulous. Lastly , I want to mention how friendly the staff was , and it was impeccably clean! I'll be back very soon.“

“Got the beef burrito, and it was okay. For a smaller place like this I kind of expected it to be extraordinary, as most small places are. It was good but it wasn't extraordinary hence the four stars. That being said the restaurant was clean the service was great and it's a place that I'll definitely go back to.“

“I overheard the associates being berated by a customer that was not satisfied with their pricing. As if the hourly employees will be able to explain, change or discuss pricing of items. This compelled me to leave a 5 star review. As appreciation is often needed where it’s due, and necessary to combat the often unfair treatment of rude and delusional customers.“

“Shasta County has a few examples of multi genre food restraunts. They're kind of the precursor to the whole fusion thing. Papi's offers Mexican, American and Chinese food and honestly does a good job at all three. Great place to get food for a big group. They have a drive through and you can order inside which is nice when you have a big vehicle that won't fit through the driveway. Gets busy when the high school is out. I have never eaten anything there that I didn't like and they are reasonably priced and you definitely a good value for what you pay .

Kid-friendliness: Small place but always friendly and welcoming. They have a variety of food so if you have a kid that wants a burrito, another that wants a hambuger and you want chicken teriyaki than this is the place for you. All of the different options are definitely good and makes for an easy one stop shop for a family.“

My cousin ordered the carne asada burrito and he couldn't stop raving about it. Next I want to try the street tacos. I highly recommend this establishment. Even the music was good. “This place is great, and I always like to stop through when I'm in the area. I usually get carne asada fries, and there is something about their meat that is magical, haha. It's really well-cut (no gristle or fat, or very little), moist (rather than dry) without being overly greasy, and has a really unique rich taste and seasoning that I can't pinpoint, but it's great, must be a secret recipe, haha. Self-serve salsa bar is also on point, with hot and mild options, including cream salsa, avocado salsa, and some knockous if you love spicy, like me. “So glad we found this spot! We tried to google and yelp a fruit spot couldn't find one in Redding. As we dined at a Mexican restaurant we were referred to this Mexican market! Wow such great service, a small family owned market with a variety of Mexican goodies. We had a fruit cup and a Piña Loca. The Piña loca was load with a variety of fruits and Mexican candy. It was so so good. We highly recommend this spot!“
