“Walking by thus place to a movie, the air was sweet and smoky. IT SMELLED SO GOOD, even when it was closed. So. I had to try it when we left. I was on my way to dinner, didn't matter, bought 3 meals and a blueberry pie (enough for 2 unless you play football), home next day I tried everything. 5 stars on everything.

I can't fathom that there's better Anerican style barbecue within 20 miles. It's takeout only.

Vegetarian options: Not really, there's sides but the greens have turkey, so enjoy your pie and macncheese.“

“I was in LA a couple of weeks ago on business and found this spot the day before leaving and that's my biggest regret. Wish we'd found it the first day we we're there I'd have been eating there everyday. The food and atmosphere are excellent and a live DJ playing music we all grew up on (can you dig it ✊?). Such a friendly young duo with the gift for amazing food, because this was the best soul food I’ve had ever since visiting LA. “Wow I love this cute little place, it’s going to be my new favorite morning spot. The food is incredible - focaccia so light, fluffy, and flavorful you feel like you teleported to Italy - and they make the most perfect tart crust I’ve had in years, which Francesca described as “home” to her. Both (the prosciutto and fontina grilled sando + apricot tart) paired beautifully with their americano. Chefs kiss!“

“I stumbled across “nugtown” for late food in the area and was pleasantly surprised! Not only was the food made fresh to order - I literally watched him batter and fry them - the owner was the sweetest human who genuinely cared about his services. He even threw in every sauce (which are bomb btw) so we could try and report back. I brought them home to my boyfriend and he couldn’t stop telling people that we found a new go-to spot! “This year's Sangode Thanksgiving dinner was made by Mestico. Everyone loved the well-seasoned and tender turkey. The black-eyed pea salad was amazing! And I took ALL the yucca mash, I can never go back to regular mashed potatoes after having this!“

“I found them on Atlantic Blvd in Monterey Park on my way home in this chilling night. I've had a long day at work and my belly was flat. I need food. So I stopped in front of their yellow truck and Hazel told me that chicken plate is really good. And she didn't lie to me. It is beyond amazing! I've never tried any Salvatore food but this is way too good. Definitely beyond my expectations! If you thought you don't like Hispanic food, you should try this place. Chef Will really knows about food. He saw me shaking in the cold breeze so he gave me a saucer of sample fries. It tastes like heaven. Seriously!!! I'm not kidding. Chef Will knows what is real cuisine. The seasoning is not too crazy but just perfect for flavor. Highly recommended!“
