“Love Claudio & the team here. They are so welcoming and have the best Happy Hour in the Arts District!

We hosted our Baby Shower here and they were so accommodating. It's a great location for a private party or a large group. Definitely recommend!

They do validate for parking - pull into the Aliso building lot by Arrowhead Brewery.

Try the squash blossoms, Lambrusco & spicy calabrese pizza. Everything is so yummy.

“A wonderful local place run by people who used to work at some high class places decided to run their own business. The sauces are great. They have specials all the time. I'm shocked how the prices are still low. Crowded even on a Wednesday.

“Was super happy with our dinner at Hippo. Every dish was delicious. The brussel sprouts and cauliflower starters had excellent flavors. All the pastas we tried had incredible depth of flavor without being overly heavy or greasy. The hippo rolls and table focaccia were excellent and the chicken thighs were to die for. Only thing that was lackluster was the passion fruit gelato. Fun vibe, lots of seating, and great service!“

“I would describe De La Nonna as an elevated pizza restaurant. As with most pizza joints, they serve up beer, salad and pizza, but this not your standard fare.

Start off with a craft beer, wine, or a fancy cocktail (or mocktail). Lots of choices to be had.

For starters, we ordered the market salad which had a fantastically light tangerine(?) dressing. The dressing on the ceaser salad was a bit heavy, but it was still tasty.

The eggplant caponata appeared to have been lightly fried and coated in a sweet and savory sauce. Very good.

As for the pizzas, all were insanely good. Each was like a pillowy soft deep dish pizza and they all came with the best crispy edges.

IMO the roasted mushroom pizza was the best — and I'm not a fan of mushrooms.

Prices are a bit higher than you would find at a typical pizza place, but again, these are not your typical pizzas. The staff was friendly and the atmosphere, chill.

“Lascaris’s never disappoints from there pizza to there sandwiches. Ordered the large Roast Beef, Ham and turkey sandwhich with cheese. The bread was nice and soft and came with mayo lettuce and tomatoes. The sandwhich also comes with a side to which I got the macaroni which was nice and creamy. Sandwiched and side totaled 15.50$ I also threw in some bbq chips for a 1.25$ more total came out to 16.75 which felt was pretty decent. I would definitely recommend Lascaris to anyone looking for fresh yummy Italian food.“

“Incredible atmosphere, excellent service. We sat at the window bar looking out into the street and it felt so inviting and wholesome. An experience I feel is rare among LA restaurants. The caprese was amazing, deliciously simple and decadent, and with the pesto on top . I had the mushroom carbonara and my wife had the caccio e pepe, both of which I can reccomend wholeheartedly. Also on thursdays there's a farmers market right across the street. Had a great time and we're excited to go back and try more of their menu. Shoutout to our waiter what a chiller.“

I guess the reason I put 4 instead of 5 is because they did not acknowledge my sister's birthday even though when I made reservation I had stated it was for an occasion and it was for a birthday. When I let the waiter know my disappointment in no acknowledgement, she just smiled and didn't really care so now it was twice that it was not acknowledged. “Owner Operator Jose A Portillo has a gem of an Italian restaurant in Baldwin Park. Stopped in early on a Friday for some dinners to-go. My elderly parents are mostly homebound and they are very fond of this little eatery. I was deeply impressed with the service and attention from Jose himself during our visit. And this was for to-go orders. We got two orders of La Pescadori and a meatball sandwich. The dishes were spectacular and the care and love from El Appetiz was world class.“
