“Strong drinks, fast service and hot fries. What's to complain about? It's within walking distance from the beach, it's a total classic dive bar - old posters, jukebox songs and plenty of TVs playing sports. It's a bigger place than it looks like from the outside with back patio seating. Parking isn't easy but it's to be expected for the area.“

“I love the shack. Been coming here since I was like 17. Shoutout to the fake id that said I was 6'4 when I was maybe 5'10. The Shack Burger is a staple to absorb some of the drunken mistakes you might have made at the other bars prior to. I always allude to the shack as a beach bar with food reminiscent of a backyard barbecue with your relatives. It's not a destination that you necessarily seek out, but an oasis that you stumble into thinking you're just going to have one, but end up having several. Even now as I approach 28, I still love the shack.“

We had the lobster rolls Connecticut style, waffle fries, and flaming hot lobster fries. Definitely worth a try. “Found this place by accident because it was the only convenient parking. The lady was so incredibly nice and welcoming. Food came out super fast, and was very fresh. I was also impressed by the incredibly competitive prices. My meal was about $13 for 5 wings and fries. Many places would charge me closer to $20. Honey garlic wings: 10/10 (slight kick, I don't normally like any spice, however I really didn't mind on these, they were very good) Side note: The sauce was just drizzled on, not covering the whole thing. I thought it was perfect, the chicken was great on its own, and it wasn't drowning in sauce. Sometimes places go overkill on the sauce to compensate for mid chicken, not the case here. I don't know how it can get better than this in LA.“

“Tacos and margs are pretty stellar at this place. Came on Taco Tuesday, which is $1 off all tacos and $9 margs. Place wasn't busy when we got there at 12 and we were able to get our food and drinks very quickly. FYI it's more of a trendy sports bar than a restaurant, so don't be thrown off when you walk in, but deff a good place for casual lunch or happy hour. For drinks, husband and I both got the classic marg, which had a decent amount of tequila. Enough to made you happy but didn't make your eyes burn when you drank it (make sense?)We ordered 4 tacos in total (short rib, chicken, shrimp and carnitas). Short rib was my favorite by far. Super flavorful with picked onions and a spicy salsa verde sauce. Husband also really liked the chicken, which was also a little spicy (not as much as the short rib) and I also got the shrimp, which was bomb. The pineapple salsa on top really made the shrimp shine. The carnitas was ... fine. Not bad but nothing to write home about. Also ordered the carnitas nachos. Prob would have ordered this with short rib had I known how good that was. They come pretty stacked with pork, shredded cheese, homemade cheese sauce, tomatoes and onions, but personally felt like they needed some acid. Pro tip, ask for the spicy salsa verde on the side. It deff satisfied that "somethings missing" feeling. Once got that we really enjoyed the nachos. Overall, we really liked this place. Food and drinks were really good and it's off the beaten path enough that you can sit and enjoy your food in a laid back place without crazy LA prices.“

“Always chill, even on occasion people are friendly and talkative. Can play pool or darts or other games. I like the decore, pennies under resin on the oak bar, bathrooms are nice since the refurbishing. Prime Pizza walking distance (a lil far but not bad). Park across the street. Coffee place I haven’t been to a few doors down that closes shortly after this place opens. Lazy Daisy breakfast location right next door. Street parking at meters, or park down in the neighborhood south on the cross streets, not far at all. Sometimes I park and jog at the park then stop here. Also I like the jukebox app they got going. There’s also back alley parking and entrance. They just started offering pretzel, dog, snacks, I used to have to go to grey block pizza, now prime pizza. There are other Mexican, fast food, and 7/11 joints nearer. There’s a Whole Foods less than a block away too.“

I've gotten just fries from this place about 4-5 times. There's a reason i've gotten it 4-5 times. They're crispy, always fresh and well seasoned. They also give you three sauces: spicy mayo, garlic aioli, and honey mustard. All are amazing and my favorite is mixing all the sauces and putting them on top of the fries. I've also orders the mozzarella sticks and the classic burger, no cheese, lettuce tomato and pickles. The mozzarella sticks are big and the cheese stretch is perfect. For the burger I didn't care much for the bun but the taste of the burger was amazing. I always come back and will always come back.“

“I want to give a full overview of the Nile Bar. I’ve been on multiple occasions- weekends and weeknights alike so I feel I have a good gage.Theres a lot of great things such as the huge TV’s, huge bar seating, live DJ/Bands and themed nights. It’s definitely more of a local bar feel because it’s a very clicky place. Meaning people just talk amongst the group of friends they came with- it’s not very social if you come alone and want to meet new people.Overall, service is not bad but it’s not good. You will wait much longer than expected. This is if the bar is full or just 1 to 5 people inside. Experienced both.Drinks are good and strong- price varies as they do have happy hour, but I usually pay closer to 17 bucks for one drink after happy hour.Had the sliders which were excellent but the wings were cooked very hard and they were not good. Now this part can be superficial, but this is for the fellas. The woman are on the larger/older side. This place doesn’t attract younger, smaller sized women. I’m not saying the women aren’t pretty, but if you also want someone in shape I would say this is not the place. And for the women… there’s a selection of men who come in solo to “watch the game” but besides small talk and a drink being bought for a very select few- I don’t really see you meeting anyone here. Just not set up for that vibe in my opinion. Stick to your gworls. But with all that being said, something about the Nile Bar really works. You just want to always come back because it does feel great. Idk what it is, but it’s a special feeling this place has that just pulls you back in for another game, another bite, or another drink.I give this place 4 stars overall!“

“I have dined here for almost 10 years or so, and I come here often for a good reason, so I sincerely wish I could rate this 5 stars. The atmosphere is fun and it's a good place to sit down, relax, and have a good time (in terms of going to a restaurant). The food is generally good but almost every time I order the nachos and explicitly ask them for no jalapenos and peppers, they put them on, as they seem to forget the exact order when it gets to the kitchen. I have had to send food back, and while I do not want to be a pest, I keep having to death with this issue and have gotten frustrated. On a more positive note, when I order other foods, they usually come out pretty good, especially for a non-formal bar. I recommend the house salad and the Chicken Fingers. If you want something less casual, this place might not be the best dining options. I am 90% sure there are less casual options, though.Parking: Depends on the day. Sometimes incredibly easy to find parking, and other days nearly impossible.Kid-friendliness: Despite being a bar, it is surprisingly kid friendly.“

I had three children with me tonight and it felt as if the waitress could have been asking us a bit more if I needed anything. Plus, none of the hamburgers apparently come with cheese. It’s extra but you won’t know that til the end of the bill. Why are businesses not giving a veterans discount? Do these businesses not like the freedom that we as military members have done for you? "Twas a night to remember" ( insert bilbo baggins quote) but for real I really like this place, bartenders are friendly an run a tight ship, they have pool tables darts and shuffle board. PS the pool scene can be competitive but that's why I go there, if you like pool, you'll find good competition there on Fridays“

“I would definitely recommend this place. It is definitely a hidden gem. The customer service was one of the best I have seen from a bar. The prices are amazing compared to other places I go. Food was pretty good and well seasoned. I would definitely come back here again.“

“I've been going here since college. It hasn't changed much. The food is decent, not the best but far from bad. It's a good sports bar. They have their locals who fill a lot of seats but they're friendly. The beer and drinks are good.“

“I took a late picture of my food... The filet mignon is a hidden gem at the standard!! It's been on the menu for a bit. It just never wanted to try...I'm into the bar food and just didn't feel like a filet mignon at a bar.... ORDER IT!!' The sauce it's served with is excellent,. And the veg and mash...just fits right...and you can't beat the price!!... 100% recommend!! I have a bit of an after pic but won't make justice... the service is awesome and just another steak find!..“

“I'm seeing quite a few reviews here about people going out of their way to visit this place. If you're reading this before you visit, that's not really what it's for. This is the in-house cafeteria/bar at an ice skating facility. It's not a standalone pub or restaurant. So, if you're dropping by for a free skate session, or if you have a kid enrolled in one of the hockey or skating classes, it's perfectly convenient to grab a bite afterwards without having to go somewhere else. Otherwise, skip. With that being said, the food here is actually quite good, but it's a bit more expensive than you'd expect - again, it's the in-house cafeteria/bar at an ice skating facility, and it ought to be priced that way.“
