“Strong drinks, fast service and hot fries. What's to complain about? It's within walking distance from the beach, it's a total classic dive bar - old posters, jukebox songs and plenty of TVs playing sports. It's a bigger place than it looks like from the outside with back patio seating. Parking isn't easy but it's to be expected for the area.“

Harbor Room Cocktail Bar • $
195 Culver Blvd, Playa Del Rey

“Harbor Room gets 5 stars. Third smallest bar in America, cheapest prices on the west side. Whoever the man with the monopoly style moustache is makes one of the best manhattans I've ever had. Best jukebox I've probably seen in my life. Wide selection of rock, soul, you know the classics you either heard in your grandpas 73 Chevelle over the 8track system cutting in and out. Or the music your dad blasted in the garage during the frequent breaks while cutting the lawn. My only complaint is some of the annoying regulars who treat the bar like a library and get a stick up their ass when you start talking. But hey I think they are near their expiration date and I'd be bitter too.“

“I love the shack. Been coming here since I was like 17. Shoutout to the fake id that said I was 6'4 when I was maybe 5'10. The Shack Burger is a staple to absorb some of the drunken mistakes you might have made at the other bars prior to. I always allude to the shack as a beach bar with food reminiscent of a backyard barbecue with your relatives. It's not a destination that you necessarily seek out, but an oasis that you stumble into thinking you're just going to have one, but end up having several. Even now as I approach 28, I still love the shack.“

“I went for my birthday based on reviews & I needed something to enjoy. I’m typically a Ruth Chris girlie, but I’ve been so many times. I took myself btw. I made a reservation, valet was very kind, I couldn’t even tell you how many people checked on me to make sure I was doing okay but I appreciated everything. The bread was amazing, the recommendations were amazing, even the other guest in the restaurant were sweet and told me happy birthday & took pictures of me. The atmosphere was beautiful, the lighting was perfect too. They even gave me a birthday card & the dessert was a 10/10. It was literally the best birthday I’ve had in years. It was worth every penny and I highly recommend coming here again.“

“As a Chicago transplant, I can’t say I miss sports bars. But I do miss the local neighborhood ones! Despite its almost punk rock aesthetic coupled with its pool table and arcade games, it’s incredibly welcoming and I only wish I lived closer to it to be one of its regulars there. You get people from all walks of life; which is sign of a great bar really.Simple and easy drinks with a solid happy hour what more could you want? Well how about some decent snacks? The food menu here is more than decent and so inexpensive; I come here just to have a Chicago dog more than I want a drink! I also love the they have two very popular tiki drinks as well! There’s plenty of room around; from chilling at the bar area, sitting in the spacious dining room, or standing at the high tops in the game room. (Won’t spoil the surprise, but there’s a very fun arcade game that everyone wants to win, that I’m sure so many have already seen). And if you love sports and miss our favorite home teams, I can’t think of anywhere else I’d want to watch them. That includes watching them at home.Vegetarian options: Vegan hot dogs!Parking: Long Blvd that had only 2 hours of parking until 6pm. Then you’re all gooooodWheelchair accessibility: Easy entry and table seating.“

“Needed a spot for a business lunch and this wasPERFECT! (Thank you fellow Yelpers!)There was a casual elegance, but so understated. They had nice music playing to set a pleasant tone, but it wasn't intrusive. Just a really nice vibe.Fabulous attentive service, too. Never rushed, but always aware. Perfect, actually.I've spent a lot of time in Milan and northern Italy, but wasn't too familiar with many of the dishes, as the menu focuses on southern Italian cuisine. Our waiter was wonderful and his suggestions were great. Turns out his mom is the chef.:-) Which explains why everything tasted so real and remarkably delicious! We started with the Zepelotti - Fried pizza dough balls stuffed with parma prosciutto, arugula, burrata and balsamic reduction. They were like little sandwiches with a delightful combination of flavors. So very good. The pasta was cooked perfectly, fresh and al dente. All hand made. Truly remarkable and authentically Italian. The wines were quite good, too. I had the Montepulciano and my friend had the Sangiovese. We both were quite pleased.Tutto era perfetto! “We were walking on the boardwalk and literally just found this place. Looked like an old shack from the outside with some crazy heavy sliding door. Once we walked in we were transported to a beautiful restaurant! The cocktail menu was so alluring as everything was something we’ve never had. If you’re into a sweet cocktails definitely get the rhapsody in red - I couldn’t even taste the alcohol. We got an app to share. The calamari was incredible but the smelt was super fishy. That’s not the restaurants fault tho. After sipping our drinks we decided on a second round and the cookie. The best restaurant a la mode I’ve had is with this delicious cookie. The nut favor really came through. Our server was so pleasant and had a lot of personality. The bathrooms were also clean and interesting. I do not recommend this hotel for you to stay, even if it is renewed and renowned, the staff at the terrace restaurant is slow and not really willing to help you, the only one really nice is BRYAN if you go ask for him.The room quality is ok the drapes do not close so you'll sleep with a ray of light, the pillows are awful and they can't do anything to solve the problem. At the valet only if you ask twice they will assist you. They have a lot of things to work on in order to be truly five stars. We especially enjoyed their mushroom pizza and house fries. When it comes to drinks, perhaps it was just that this place had been overhyped as some of LA's best cocktails, but I found them to be just okay. I tried the Midnight Breakfast and Eospresso and they were both ... fine. I wish there was something a little more memorable about them. The environment felt electric and trendy, but even right at open, grew loud with voices and pumped-in music. Everything was delicious including the pesto and Tierra Donna pasta, branzino, mushroom and margarita (not a margarita fan since the sauce is normally whatever and there isn't enough cheese but this one is my fav since it has a good amount of cheese and the tomato sauce is robust) pizza but my favorites include the eggplant parm (my favorite one as it was delicious without being a messy heavy dish), tortellini, arancini, and their sundae/ice cream. A great spot if you are a vegetarian. We got salads as well including the Caesar but in the future I would skip them to make more room for the other items.“

My water was always full (I drink alot of water) we started out with the devil eggs WOW they were so delicious better than mine lol I wish they come in 6 instead of three. The fries are so yummy. I had the tuna sandwich let me tell you the best I ever had the bread was so soft . I need the recipe of the homemade tasting tuna . My husband enjoyed his chicken sandwich. Drinks so good too . Thank you for an amazing lunch . We will definitely go back will be worth the 2 hrs drive“

“We came from Texas and was craving a margarita. This place had great reviews. Parking is limited to street from what I saw, but worth it.Service: There was a small wait time, but the host was super sweet and prompt in seating us. Our waitress with the two ponytails was beyond attentive and lovely. The bus boys were on it at clearing every table as people were finishing their plates and drinks!Food: the pollo enchiladas with green sauce were delicious! The beans were a good consistency, but the rice really didn't really have much flavor. The asada tacos were delicious as well. The chips were crunchy, but the salsa was just OK.Drinks: the Lucha margarita was amazing!! I'm picky with my margs, and this one was mmm mmm good! My husband was glad they had mexican cokes since he's not a tequila man. While the decor was fun and festive with lucha decor, the space was a little crowded for my liking with people just standing around in the middle, blocking the walkway. Tables are too close together. Also, I'd like to add that it was not nice to hear patrons being rude to our waitress who was busting her tush making sure everyone was taken care of for no reason.“

“Great experience all around. I took my friend from Kansas who is not a huge Mexican food fan. I told her to come to Palmilla and give it a try. We had the caesar salad (I loved the capers in it) Ceviche trio, and the carnitas. The food was so good, not greasy like a lot of Mexican food and deliciously elevated. The Serrano cilantro margarita was amazing too. Service was friendly and prompt. Thank you“

“Lady Hawk is a fantastic, trendy restaurant nestled within the Kimpton La Peer hotel. Securing reservations a few weeks in advance is essential due to its high demand. Upon visiting with my friends, we were thoroughly impressed. Every aspect, from the decor to the service and ambiance, exceeded our expectations. We opted for the Mezze platter, which turned out to be larger than anticipated but incredibly satisfying. We also indulged in the za'atar man'oushe, seared halloumi, shawarma skirt steak, and half chicken--all of which were delightful. Sharing is recommended, so keep that in mind when ordering. Despite leaving with leftovers, we were eager to return for more.“

“First time coming here. Loved the old Hollywood feel. The food was very tasty. Went here with some friends for Easter Brunch. I had the tomamto and burrato... Yum. With the Branzino for the main. My dish didn't come out for about 15 mins... They comped my portion of the meal. They didn't need to do that. Amazing service correction. No photos allowed as many celebrities come here. Which was refreshing.“

“My wife and I come to this location often. We come to this location specifically because the staff are so caring, nice and the service is outstanding! Our favorite waitress is a young lady named Jocelyn My 6 yr old granddaughter loves her and loves coming here. Jocelyn always makes sure she makes herself available to take a picture with our granddaughter everytime we go. All of the staff are very nice and that all starts at the top. The management/owners are very attentive and hardworking. This El torito location should be the example of excellence to all the other El toritos in the southbay.
