“Aw I feel sorry for these guys. I picked a guy up today from here and I seen guys talking or drinking at the door and I found out they were once army dudes that were deployed to war that made it back home. So it's a member fee and regular ppl can go there but overall the guy was nice so the place must be nice.“

Bac Street Lounge Bar • $
2422 Artesia Blvd, Redondo Beach

“My first introduction to Bac Street was walking from my house to Thirsty Club and I was a regular until my last interaction... anyway, Bac Street is closer to me than Thirsty or Paddy's but it closed down for a long while due to pandemic. They're open now and just as neighborhood friendly as before. The only reason I'm giving 4 in lieu of 5 stars is because they don't have any snacks. No pretzels, chips or nuts. So come FULL.“

“I never "got" Indian food and this place with the most satisfying SOUTH Indian food made me understand. These are such individual dishes from the Andrha chicken fry (now in slider form with Hawaiian bund) and fried potatoes- our new "burger and fries forever. New things to us! Dosakaya the fruit-veggie like a cucumber. Dosas, the paper-thin cylinders or puffy mushroom top like a crepe and eaten on their own or filled with potatoes and pear. Saag paneer, spinach with cheese cubes is silky, deep green and different because it is minced and has no heavy cream in it. From the tandoor there are Mediterranean spiced (from a former partner restaurant) and south Indian spiced shrimp and chicken kabobs. And the rice is fluffy, aromatic and light. The patio is inviting and you cam smell the ocean from your seat. AND for a city driver, there is a huge parking lot out back and free street parking in the front. A 25-minute drive from west LA.“

“Easily one of the best experiences in a long time. We live in the area and have wanted to try this place for a long time. Josh as a host was incredible from the moment we walked in the door. He was so friendly and made us feel like regulars even though it was our first time. Ricardo was our server and we found he had been there fore 23 years. He was so nice and kind. The food is incredible. We had the shrimp cocktail to start, which was great. Then we ordered the famous burger and the prime rib. Both were amazing. We also had the bread pudding for dessert. Everything was so great, and all of the other tables were filled with what felt like regulars. Don't let the outside turn you off. Once you enter, you'll be treated to a great evening.“

“This place has lots of good memories for me. If you love beer be sure to check this place out. They always have a huge selection of beers that they rotate. With so many beers, it's super fun being able to pick a new beer with each round . Not a lot of places with this much selection. They are nice enough to give you a few samples if you can't commit, or pitchers if you can. Def a dive bar. Lots of regulars and locals. Weekends can get packed, especially in the summer. They also have live music on weekends. Food is bar food but tasty. My friend is obsessed with their wings.“

Thirsty Club Bar • $

“Nice little dive bar. Lots of fun regulars. One pool table. Occasionally there are Hotdogs. First timers: You have to watch your step when getting off of your bar stool; there is a one foot drop. My best place to hear and tell Dad Jokes ! Lots of laughs, Ron! If their parking lot is full at night, just park next door or on Artesia Blvd. Stephanie Tuttle and Kay already know what I will have! The popular Endo Kamikaze! Not recommended for my friends in wheelchairs; the bathrooms are very small. There's usually a BIG crowd on Chris' Karaoke Wednesdays!“

Hot Pot

“My partner and I were craving pseudo-healthy asian food and hadn't had hot pot in forever, so we checked this place out for the first time. It was great and will definitely be in our regular rotation going forward! We came later on a Monday, so the restaurant was relatively quiet and the service was attentive. The restaurant is relatively small with three "sections"--a lower bar (almost sushi bar style), a hightop bar, and then a back table for larger parties. The restaurant has a dedicated parking lot as well as ample street parking. We sat in the hightop bar. My only small complaint for the design is that the hot pots were relatively far away from the seating, so if you're short/short-armed it's a bit of a reach and I found myself standing up to grab my food from time to time. We ordered garlic edamame (would skip next time), seaweed salad, and we both got regular portions of the lean cut + an additional 6 oz portion that we split for soup leftovers. There are several great options for broth, the meat was great, veggies were fresh, and overall it really hit the spot! I did ask for soup base at the end of the meal (which I don't know it if would have been offered it I didn't ask), which was super delicious with the spicy broth I chose. The price was fair for the amount of food, but I do wish they offered smaller "add ons." All in all, solid meal and looking forward to coming back and trying different broths and meats.“

“I haven't been here in a while but the food, drink and hospitality is still fantastic. Being a special day (St Patrick's) of course I ordered the corned beef and cabbage. It was very good, however, the cabbage was undercooked and very difficult to cut with a sharp knife. I mentioned it to the waitress but nothing was done. It was still a worthwhile meal among a vibrant celebratory crowd.“

“This is my second weekend in a row having dinner at HT Grill to celebrate with friends. I have enjoyed the surf and turf both times because it's my favorite meal. They have a lobster tail that is amazing. Generous portions and everything is done to perfection. If you're not happy with part of the meal such as my best friend last night with her carrot cake, they will remove it from the bill. I do suggest they remove the carrot cake because it's very dry. The cookie pazuki though that is a delicious dessert! I highly recommend anything from the bar, especially the cucumber mojito.( I might have had three!) They have live music on some nights and it's a lot of fun. It's great! Inside and on the outside patio. They also have fire heaters so it's beautiful and romantic and only a block from the beach so you can walk down and see the ocean. I'll be back. Maybe not next weekend, But who knows. If I'm lucky maybe I will?“
